2/30 + 2/30 versus 2/30 + 1/30. Just as likely? Mathematically no.
But then again I guess you could coin out that 4-drop beforehand.
Whatever. They're comparable. And in any case, it's apples and oranges. Different classes have different strengths. Overall, Druid is about to get taken down a peg, while Shaman is getting a leg up. It's too early to judge the relative early games of different classes, especially when one of them is a C'Thun deck and the other isn't.
Shaman is suddenly showing the potential to become the midrange king while Druid has a new archetype to contend with. They're both midrange at this stage. But there's plenty more to see before we decide what a class can and cannot do.
This card is slow.
It potentially gives you an on-curve turn 4 5/5. That's the opposite of slow.
No this can't be right. Someone call blizzard I don't see the pointless overload mechanic on this card.
I made a deck including this card check it out and tell me what you think
Also hope you guys are ready for the Twitch chat memes whenever this card is played on stream: "Thing from Below gachiGASM"
My guess is Doom Hammer is going to get nerfed and I have come to the conclusion that is you are not looking to fully burst down someone then overload is pure shit, lastly I think Hallazeal the Ascended and maybe Elemental Destruction are going to be needed against more aggressive decks to get massive tempo swings. One of the problems mid-range shaman had was it did no healing against more aggressive decks and its board clears left you vulnerable because you could not play as much on the following turn and could not out tempo your opponent, this will fix that by literally giving you Reno Jackson with no drawback.
Apart from that it looks to be a solid mid-range build, I can see that the Thing from Below into Mater of Evolution play could be broken as you could play it for literally 0 mana and turn it into a 7 drop. That would be disgusting but its what shaman needed to become a competitive mid-range archetype.
I really appreciate the input thanks. I agree Master of Evilution and Thing from Below are going to be crazy and they both are just what Shaman needed. I want to keep Doomhammer as a finisher or at the very least removal but if by chance it does get nerfed I'll have to switch it out. As for Hallazeal you're not the only one to suggest it and since that's the case now I'm seriously thinking about adding it because from my experience with midrange shaman, playing against face Hunter is usually an auto loss and healing wave can be unreliable and slow at times so Hallazeal could be a savior in that match up and other aggro ones.
Ironically if doom hammer does get nerfed there might not be a need to replace it with Hallazeal because that was the main component of face shaman, and with secret paladin and face hunter (they will lose Mad Scientist which is a difficult card to replace in that deck) getting rotated out the meta will slow down. Still being able to clear the entire board and heal all your hp is hard to refuse.
I would suggest just to slow the deck down abit replacing tunnel trogg and some of the overload cards with more efficient cards because I have used this card alot and most of my experience with overload is if you try to use it as a control tool you will be out tempo'd. A card that seem to be great with the rotation is Jeweled Scarab as is has great value with Master of Evloution and Brann Bronzebeard on top of shaman naturally giving the most consistent 3 drops, all aoe's, hex, feral spirit(if you desperately need taunt) and Tuskarr Totemic can come from that. Its just a thought but could be a powerful utility card going forward.
A good card.
At 6 mana: A Sunwalker with one more attack and no divine shield. Not too great, but not horrible either.
At 5 mana: Passes the vanilla test, basically a Fen Creeper with 2 more attack but 1 less health.
At 4 mana: If you don't draw Totem Golem or Tuskarr Totemic early, you might be playing Thing from Below at around 4 mana. However, this is where the card starts to shine. Some might say at this point it's just an Evil Heckler with one more health, and they'd be right, but 5 health can make a good difference over 4. 5 health survives Piloted Shredder (in wild), Druid of the Claw, Huffer, two 2 atk minions, 3 atk+ping, and many other things that 4 health cannot.
At 3 mana or below: Pure profit. +2/+2 over Ironfur Grizzly.
Keep in mind with the release of standard, the power level of decks is going down, making this card better then it may seem at first glance, and likely where most shamans will be playing their decks. Still, we will have to see what other cards are being released and the meta. :)
Here you go, real version:
I'm guessing his version is a joke, based on past Shaman cards lol.
April fools?
Guess it's not too bad, if you get Totem Golem and Tuskarr Totemic out a 4 mana 5/5 taunt is preeety good. It also kind of means totem shaman would have cards to curve from 1 mana to 6 mana now, though only 2 of the cards are totems.
I'm glad to see that shaman is getting good cards which do not support the face build but rather midrange/control. It was long overdue.
Thing from below...
It represents the depths at which the totem decks wallow in their misery- I think
Also synergy from literally any totem minion
