x2 Absuive Sergeant - Synergy with Al'Akir The Windlord and it allows a turn one Tunnel Trogg without overload synergy to still get some value.
x2 Rockbiter - Synergy with Al'Akir and Doomhammer, it also allows smaller minions to trade in to bigger minions
x2 Trogg - Synergizes with overload and is probably one of the best one drops you wil be able to find in standard.
x1 Flametongue - Synergy with Thing from Below. Allows Smaller minions to trade in to bigger minions. I only run one because two can be a bit slow as it at times will just sit in your hand,this is also why I do not have Bloodlust in this deck.
x1 Ancestral Knowledge - Dropped one Flametongue Totem for this. Synergizes with Trogg. Although I don't like that it overloads you for 2, it's cardraw and that is always good in Shaman.
x2 Totem Golem - Very good card. Synergizes with Thing from Below and Tunnel Trogg.
x1 Brann Bronzebeard - Very good also. Synergizes with Master of Evolution - if you have Brann on the board you will be able to up transform a 1 mana minion for ex. In to a 3 mana one. One reason I also like this card is that it has good synergy with Tuskar Totemic, allowing you to summon 2 random totems which will further reduce the cost of Thing from Below. Note the other battlecries in this deck like Firegurd Destroyer, Azure drake and Fire Elemental.
x1 Feral spirits - Good synergy with Tunnel Trogg. Something shaman lacks is a turn three play, we have Tuskar totemic but he is a 3/2 which is really weak. I have a feeling Blizzard may introduce a 3 slot for shaman but until then I'll be using this. They can also serve as protection since they have taunt of course.
x2 Hex - Nearly a staple card for shaman and it is the best removal card in the game so why yeah.
x2 Lightning Storm - It's going to much better in Stanadard format then it ever was with wild thanks the removal of all the sticky minions. It also has synergy with Tunnel Trogg and can be paired with Azure Drake.
X1 Mana Tide Totem - I'm not really sure about this one. It's card draw yes, and it also has synergy with Thing from Below. But I want think its a bit slow because it is three mana and I'm beginning to think maybe this deck has enough card draw? What do you think? Also note the chance of getting this off of Tuskar Totemic
x1 Fireguard Destroyer - With Shredder rotating out and BGH possibly being nerfed I think this card will be really good. It can be used on turn four and also in the late game. It also Synergizes with tunnel Trogg and can be a good target for the Master of Evolution.
x2 Azure drake- Card draw and synergy with Bran and Lightning Storm. I also chose it for the body, yes 4/4 stats for 5 isn't the best but it's still a target for Master of Evolution.
x2 Tuskar totemic - Not the best three drop in the world but it Synergizes with Thing from Below and Brann. Also can be a late game target for Master of Evolution if you don't get to play it earlier.
x2 Master of Evolution - Potentialy the best 4 drop in the game?? I made it a point to include a lot of Minions in this deck just for this guy, not that he needs them anyways because 4/5 stats at 4 mana is enough to warrant playing him even without his ability. Synergy with every minion, and ok synergy with Brann.
x1 Doomhammer - This a finisher. It can be used to stabilize the board and keep control but I think it would be best to use it as a finisher. We all know of the Synergy with Rockbiter. It also synegizes with Tunnel Trogg
x2 Fire Elemental - One of the best minions in the game in my opinion. Synergizes with Brann and if it happens to be on the board before you have played Master of Evolution, it can be an excellent target.
x2 Thing from Below - Amazing card. Synergizes with hero power, Totem golem, Tuskar Totemic, Mana Tide, and Flametongue. I theorize that this card will usually be played for 3 or 2 mana on average in this deck. I'm sure people will get it a 0 a lot though. This card is a game changer for Shaman, can't wait to use it.
x1 Al'Akir The Windlord - Finisher. The combos you can pull of can be pretty crazy. I already run him x2 Sergeants, x2 Rockbiters, and x1 Flametonuge in a deck and the finishing ability is legit.
Hope you like the deck and I am sorry if it seems like a lazy write up but it's my first one ever so if you have tips I'm open to hearing them. Honorable mentions are Thunder Bluff valiant, Blood lust and Dranei. I didn't include Thrunderbluff because he's a bit slow for this deck and I also didn't want totems to be the main focus, same reason for Dranei totemcarver. Bloodlust is not in because it's a bit slow too and I really tried to avoid having dead cards in my hand.
Tell me what you guys think of this Theory Craft, I also want to note that I've been playing shaman ever since is tarted playing Hearthstone which wash round January of 2015 I believe, so if you need some tips or help regarding Shaman feel free to ask.
I like where you're going with this deck, but there is not enough focus in one area. You have Azure Drake to add spell damage, but there's only 1 spell that does damage in your deck. Very minion heavy, specifically totems. However, there aren't enough totem related cards to make it a totem deck. I think you just need to refine the list a bit and think about if you want to go for more midrange/control by adding more spells or more of a totem synergy deck. Either way making a few quick changes to the list and you've got a solid deck. I like the ideas, but I'd focus a little more on synergy.
No worries for a late response! I get what you're saying, just from the standpoint of decks that are going to be competitive you really have to narrow down a focus to have the best deck possible. Imagine asking yourself what situations you'll be in and how to get out of them. I think not being too spell heavy is a great thing, but totems aren't powerful enough support. I think that you have the right idea as far as the start though! And I will keep an eye out for those lists! :)
