atm you rather develop another drop turn 3 than drawing 1-2 cards. and if you want to draw: why not cultmaster one turn later? ok you dont have to trade but would you play arcane int in midrange hunter? and you draw random beasts, there is a reason that not many decks use ram wrangler.
also feign death, haunted and webspinner are gone from classic.
I think Cult Master is more useful if you want to trade right away, since it usually gets killed on the following turn it hits the table. You drop it, kill your (and their) minions on your terms and draw.
Infest, on the other hand, is better if you want the opponent not to trade. If they go for it right away, it's card advantage for you
BTW, right now I am considering the wild format, since we don't know yet WoG full card pool.
look at Soul of the Forest, potenial decent card(better for a tempo deck), the problem is: why would you play a buff over a minion?
and is the combo good enough for wild? u sure?
Because it's Deathrattle buff. Also, its a buff for all minions you have.
Deathrattle usually have more value over regular buffs (say, Mark of the Wild) because it's harder for the opponent to trade it favorably. In the first situation, you get a compesation for losing a minion to trade or removal. That's why everyone loves Shredder, Belcher, Mad Scientist, etc.
It's not like giving +2/+2 to a minion just to lose it for a removal card right in the next turn.
dont forget Baron Rivendare in that combo
Very good, insane with unleash the hounds
Control hunter is born
troll confirmed!
Did someone say Starving Buzzard + Unleash the Hounds combo reborn?
That would work if you could get Starving Buzzard out and not killed right away. To much mana needed for a single turn combo. But wouldn't be bad as long as SB is still alive.
I was talking about how Starving Buzzard used to be 2 mana, so on turn 5 you could potentially clear board and draw your entire deck. This is only 1 mana more expensive and allows random beast draw.
It won't be as good, because you're gonna get 5 Captain's Parrots anyway
Ah, but Captain's Parrot (along with Old Murk-Eye) are both being rotated out of standard! No mare drawing into the Parrot as a random beast! :)
There are still some that suck, though, I mean, like the ones I single out are like, Young Dragonhawk, Hungry Crab, Silverback Patriarch, a couple others I can't think of right now off the top of my head.
This card looks super fun and inspires new decks to be made to include it. Thanks for adding this card blizzard! <3
Spending 3 mana to do basically nothing to the board is sadly not good in enough in hunter decks.
Well you need 2 minions on the board for this to be worth it I think, That's not impossible, but it will require hunter to change u its play style. Overall I do not think this will be played too much.
Excuse me? I was under the impression everyone had realized this entire set focuses on control, this card will see play in a lot of hunter decks, hell comboing this with unleash the hounds basically means card draw isn't needed in hunter anymore.
Everyone always gets their hopes up before the expansion. Thinking control decks will be better, telling themselves that cards like feign death and lock and load will be viable in a deck. This card is unplayable and you all know im right.
No I'm gonna say you're wrong.
Webspinner was a 1 cons 1/1 that gave you a random beast upon death, those stats when looking at other 1 drops suck balls but it got tons of play because of its deathrattle.
Now we have a 3 cost card that can give any minions on board the same ability; think about that. now you can give a minion with 2/2 or 3/4 body the same ability.
In my opinion this card is better when you have just 2 minions on the board, now think about a card like unleash the hounds (which on average is played against a board of 3/4 so 3/4 hounds) thats 3/4 + whatever other minions you already had all giving you more minions to play later on!
I already play control Hunter and trust me this card is going to be everywhere.
