April 2016 Card Nerf
It was announced on April 20th, 2016 that Force of Nature would receive a nerf.
- Mana cost reduce to 5, down from 6.
- The Treants summoned no longer have Charge.
- The Treants summoned no longer die at the end of your turn.
Quote from BlizzardThe new version of Force of Nature lowers its mana cost by 1, but removes Charge and makes the summoned Treants permanent—like the other Treants that Druids summon. This change also removes the powerful one-turn combo of Force of Nature and Savage Roar. Now, opponents will have a chance to deal with the threat that the Treants represent, and it won’t feel mandatory to always include the combo.
I always thought that Savage Roar was far more powerful than this card. With no cards like Savage Roar, Force of Nature would be fine.
Savage Roar is powerful, but it's preventable since you can kill the minions before the Savage Roar is played.
Force of Nature there isn't really anything you can do since the Treants have Charge, so on the Druid's turn they can hit you with 17-22 damage.
I am not stating that Force of Nature combo isn't overpowered. I was trying to say that as a card by itself it can be very useful sometimes, but not completely broken (even it's bad).
But I think the way I said it is a bit misleading, so I'll edit it to clarify. Apologies.
Yes! Thank u Blizzard! I hate druid combo. I love this nerf.
You know, I actually like this nerf...
I use a Control/Tempo Druid and this card is the perfect replacement for Keeper of the Grove :D
Btw, RIP Keeper, we will miss you
Honestly, this nerf isnt that bad. It might kill the OP combo, but it still is a 5 mana spell that summons 3 2/2 minions. It totals to 12 stats for a 5 mana minion(s). the "Yeti" for 5 mana is the arena fighter girl and its only a 5/6. I feel this spell could be good in good board buffing decks that use a savage roar to finish the oppenent. Kinda like Egg druid.
Kripp completely called the no more charge nerf. Although he didnt call the mana reduction.
yes yes yes! thank you Blizzard, its about damn time Combo gets a nerf. its for druid to actually get a deck where it doesnt include double Combo.
Happy 4/20 guys :)
Adieu
Still looks like a decent card to be honest...now has a place in those Soul of the FOrest decks that have been floating around every now and then.
Also, i have 3 of these, so hooray for 400-1200 dust for free
I wish they also would have changed Savage Roar to not affect your hero as well...
this nerfs WOULD kill druid but the new expansion is bringing some great cards for him, and think about it for a sec: C'thun druid might already be pretty strong, now imagine it with Ancient of Lore's card draw, Keeper of the Grove's silence and a combo. I agree that the combo should've been killed eons ago, but maybe blizzard saved it until now so they could nerf druid pretty hard at the same time a new expansion that would make him too strong comes to balance it out
the distribution is terrible. theres almost no reason to play this over Silver Hand Knight tbh. yeah there's a bit of savage roar Value, but actually there isn't, because they are 2-2's, which at least 1 will get utterly destroyed, most likely for free by your opponent. you say its pretty good, but how many silver hand Knights are you running in your contructed decks? yeah, that's what i thought. and this is an Epic, and worse.
I completely disagree with nerfing this card instead of Savage Roar. This card is completely fine and nowhere near OP if Savage Roar was nerfed. On the other hand Savage Roar can still do stupid things.... Still I haven't played HS in 2 months so maybe I'm wrong.
Well for me Savage Roar was always more annoying than the combo itself. I probably died more times because of simple Savage Roars than combos (and yes I always cleared their board as much as I could). Also Savage Roar is more flexible. Bloodlust is 5 mana and not 3, and at best (7minions) it deals 5 more damage than Savage Roar.
This is why I wanted Roar to be nerfed. I made a midrange-lategame druid and I won 100% of the games when I drew Savage Roar with 1 or 2 minions on the board... (most of the games)
It might be the point of it but still feels OP, and I don't think that Zoo can kill you from 15-20 health very often so.. I really feel like it should be 4 mana or beast only.
one card I will never miss... rip in pieces old fella.
(I still think its a nice card by the way, cool tokens and better than Stand Against Darkness stat wise)
