The only one out of the four that allows you to play it (if drawn by 2) before bombs get into your deck. People have a good point how is this even fair when bombs can ruin your whole game plan. This is really annoying.
So since it's a Discover, I'm guessing it can be from any class and also the Even variant, not just Justicar?
Upgraded card is specifically the Justicar upgrade. The 'even variant' is just a price reduce, but a hero power change at all.
Ah shit, here we go again...
So Finleydin is gonna be a thing now?
This card alone can't make highlander paladin viable. I don't know, I guess it's just for fun or future expansions? But why support highlander decks if we all got bored of them and it is not respected too much by HS community (see twitch chat, pros on twitch, many hearthpwn topics).
I hate all the new "no duplicate" Legendary minions. Not only are the minions terribly underwhelming and also in this meta they are incredibly worthless because of bomb warrior. Honestly does blizzard not even pay attention to their own games meta.
Reno jackson is the worst of the lot and I even theory crafted a better version in my opinion where he is a 10 mana 4/6 battlecry equips a Gatlin Wand 1/3: After you attack play 2 random spell you played this turn at a random enemy target. (it's a gatlin gun, so it has bad aim and it's a wand so it casts spells)
To note as well we have already said that having no duplicates in your deck is not only extremely limiting in deck design, but also boring the play. No body likes being limited by this which is why it stopped after Mean Streets expansion.
This alone has made up my decision about not pre-ordering this expansion. Not because there won't be cards that would change the meta, rather because blizzard refuses to learn from it's past mistakes. Unless these cards are changes I don't think I'm looking forward to this expansion.
It's been known for a long time that Blizzard makes expansions 2 sets in advance. All these cards have been done since before Rise of Shadows even came out. There might be something to deal with bomb warrior in the expansion after this one.
I'm still complaining that "no duplicates" is an incredibly boring mechanic and cannot be salvaged. The way they have designed these legendary minions does not speak for their character or have any creativity in design at all.
It's still a hated mechanic in the game. Well I always hated it because it limited deck design, as it's the same reason I hated Gen and Baku as well. They probably can't change it now, but these design choices are probably going to be the sole reason why I'm not going to buy the expansion.
Sir Finley Combo Paladin <- Link
My theorycraft of a potential way to utilize Sir Finley in a combo deck. More of a meme deck than anything else so far, definitely not above tier 3, but it might actually be possible to make it into a viable deck if we get some additional tools this expansion or in the expansions to come.
I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.
nicely art
fuck the silver hand and fuck you for printing this card. let upgraded hero powers die already
this is fine, it's not baku. the odds of a paladin actually having this on turn 2 are incredibly low due to the massive restrictions highlander decks have, and even if they do have it they only have a 33% chance of getting the paladin hero power. This really should have been a neutral though. Extremely disappointed that it's not.
to have a new meta, first of all we need to take care of Dr Boom (nerf him pls )
Any early game minion is a great addition for paladin. And upgrading your hero power has proven to be very strong, even if the effect isn't guaranteed to be the desired hero power you want.
EDIT: I just realized that this will be in conflict with the quest paladin is getting. We don't know the effect yet, but it will most certainly cancel finley's effect and visa versa. Pretty shitty that paladin has to chose which one to play if you ask me..
I love that at least SIr Finley kept his original flavour of swapping the hero power.
they still ruined it by making him a class legendary
At least this one cost only 2 and can be draw with call to adventure. More chances you can activate it before bomb warrior put too much bombs in your deck.
Wasn't this a new expansion?? I can't see it...
