He never said he wanted to be a hero.
The sky temple actually refers to the domain of Al Akir, not dalaran. So stealing from the air elementals instead of the bad guys... noice!
...How is it bad guys?
The flavor of this card is pretty perfect.
Reno, obsessed with treasure, ignores all heroic motives and just raids the archives while the other heroes battle EVIL. Caught up in battle while fleeing, he just pulls from the pages and throws ANY spell he can to see what sticks, having no idea how to use the power before him, which explains the "random" aspect of his hero power. Makes sense why he's in Mage this time around, he just MADE it happen...because he's a lovable idiot who's gonna be rich!
I love the people complaining about how bad this card is, especially seeing how powerful Cyclone Mage is right now. What could be good about having a hand full of reduced cost spells, and infinate value, especially in a deck that you've build around playing lots of cheap spells?...
I'm pretty sure if they aren't complaining about how bad a card is, they're complaining about how OP it is... Must complain... Hearthstone's version of SJWs... Garrdouche, the Hearthstone Justice Warrior.
The thing that makes cyclone mage good is tempo. I essentially generate a card for each card I spend that turn. Giving me card advantage. Unfortunately, this doesn't generate any card advantage until much later in the game, but still at the cost of 2 mana. Generating a random spell for 2 mana isn' great even if it is discounted afterwords. (for instance, I generate a 1 mana spell for two mana, Now I've lost tempo. Or I generate multiple pocket galaxies). It's essentially a worse Primordial Glyph because you aren't able to choose the spell.
Having said that, if a control style deck comes back for mage, this could be okay in late game scenarios. I could even see people mulliganing this quest with the intention of completing for late game value, to potentially to try to beat boom. (probably not tho)
I love people comparing tempo cards with value cards. And no we are complaining cause this card is basicly worse version of Hagatha (Hagatha has some tempo value and she doesn't limit deck construction).
@DeathDragon - Right, I was comparing it to tempo because everyone seems to be comparing it to cyclone mage generating spells. The second part of my comment is about it being in a control style deck for value.
I agree with what you're saying.
@Professor_Shaun I was refering to TyrantrumRex comment, not yours. I haven't even realised that your comment got in the way. Anyway our opinion is quite similar I would say.
Just bad....
Time to get 0 cost Snap Freeze The VALUE.
We're gonna be rich!
Infinite Value? Dont mind if I do.... :-)
Fuck me, I was expecting so much more for mage... Im tired of these random effect for both spells and minions for this class...
It fits well with how the style of deck it will be played in works. Middle to late game the ping is only marginally useful so getting another possible source of damage that is better than the the ping works out. the real factor will be of the meta speeds up again and you end up having no time to actually get it working in favor of counter pressure cards.
Am I the only one who's at least a little bit disappointed that the Quest Reward isn't that Crystal Mini Gun Reno had? I mean, it'll probably pop up on the other Legendary card, but still.
this card is just terrible
is it just me or is this card rly strong in some kind of cyclone tempo mage ? may be double quest tempo mage in wild ? :D
Another addition to my random Yogg-Saron deck? Thank you Blizzard. MADNESS CONSUME YOU!
