The Heroes Alpha Returns! Official Patch Notes
Darker Nights, Warlords of Draenor Beta - Build 18996, Blue Tweets, Heroes Alpha
Deck Spotlight: Modded's Blitzlock
In today's Deck Spotlight we're taking a look at Modded's aggro Warlock, the Blitzlock! This deck is the "spiritual successor" to Modded's UnLock, a deck that was previously spotlit in the summer. This aggro deck has been designe to trade more often than your normal Charge Warlock, but to also kill your opponent faster than your typical Zoo. With this greatness does come a couple of flaws though, and if you notice a lot of Taunt heavy decks in your area on the ladder, you may want to swap decks until you get away from it.
The deck clocks in at 2,600 Arcane Dust, but if you're a member of the Leeroy Jenkins disenchant club, or just want a more budget friendly version of the deck, Arcane Golem is a suitable substitution. Be sure to read the full deck guide to learn the ins and outs of the deck, or check it out below if you'd like to dive right into playing it.

History of the Meta
During the America Regionals, a video titled The History of the Meta was played on stream during a break. It's since been uploaded to Youtube for everyone to enjoy. Ben Brode, Eric Dodds, and Mike Donais discuss how the meta has evolved over time, and even mentioned an older card that never made it into the final game! Does anyone else remember the Freeze Mage Nerf?
Envenom - Double your weapon's Attack this turn. 3 Mana. Rogue Only. Because that isn't OP!
The video was removed. Sorry about that.
Ben Brode's Tweets
Senior Game Designer of Hearthstone, Ben Brode, answered some questions on The Twitter this evening.
Quote from Ben BrodeAny plans to change the Warlock hero power?
No, though we still are keeping an eye on warlock as a whole. (Source)Thoughts on Undertaker? Thoughts on making him power up when a friendly deathrattle is triggered instead of on minion plays?
Undertaker is powerful. Currently no plans to change him, though. (Source)Why does Undertaker get +1/+1 instead of +X/+0 like every other "When (A) happens, Gain +/+" card?
There are plenty of "When X happens, gain +1/+1" cards. Unbound Elemental. Secret keeper. Questing Adventurer. Gruul. Etc.
Sorry, should have said 1-drop. Undertaker feels way way stronger than Lightwarden and Mana Wyrm.
He's strong, but we don't just nerf cards because they are strong. (Source)When are you guys gonna buff cards that are literally never used (instead of nerfing good cards). I want to use Shadowform
Probably never. Though new cards sometimes cause old cards to become better. (Source)Was envenom ever in game for public consumption? I can't find remnants of it on any wiki or Hearthstone historical site.
I don't think so - it became Blade Flurry.
Yikes. Was Deadly Poison in the game while Envenom was around? Sounds more frustrating than Miracle for bad matchups.
It was the most frustrating thing possible (Source)

I kinda see the point, but I still think that's a lazy answer. For a company with thousands of employees and billions upon billions of revenue, Blizz have been slacking off on HS. Game's been out for a WHILE, still no detailed stats, no detailed profiles, no android version, no spectator mode, one single-player expansion that surely could have waited a bit longer and instead they could have added a number of these smaller additions. I'm sorry, im a fan and play every day, but it still feels underwhelming from a developer like Blizz...
Undertaker Everywhere! Powerful Off Course;)
I dont think shadowform actually needs a buff. It as a card is would be really difficult to make better seeing as it is really straight forward. Maybe something like lowing its mana cost. (Either the card or the hero power) regardless I think its fine the way it is.
I'm also disappointed on behalf of other existing class cards that have mechanics that are simply broken - like repentance triggering on 1 health minions. Name me a single other secret that will proc when there is zero effect.
How to make shadowform usable:
Shadow Form - 3 Mana: Your hero power becomes 'Deal 2 damage'. Draw 'Holy Form'.
Holy Form - 0 Mana: Your hero power becomes 'Heal 2 damage'.
The video has returned. Previous uploader deleted it so I tracked it down for everyone to enjoy. A must watch!
Definitely Ben Brode at his finest.
When I first saw the video, I thought it was a parody video. I thought someone was doing a Ben Brode impression.
I've been running a Shadowform zoo deck with priest that actually is doing very well. I'm surprised by his response to underused cards though… especially NEVER USED cards like Kidnapper. I mean if you can buff unleash down to two (however short-lived it was) why not toss in an extra life point - or remove the combo option - just minor tweaks to a few of the worst offenders.
the only way shadowform would work is to have the option every turn to heal or do dmg with it. right now once used your force to do dmg with it and not heal your own minions which is where priest thrives vsing others. but if they make it optional do you want to go face or heal then it'd be worth playing in every priest hand.
That "we are keeping an eye on Warlock" is creepy as hell
If they do change the Hero Power in some mechanical way. They have to change everything else for the warlock, so it would be a revamp of the whole class. Which I don't really see would happen.
I'm curious if they mean chaining something like Blood Imp. Lowest value card in the game as a class card.
If they simply changed the hero power to "Draw one card at the end of your turn", then the entire class would not need to be revamped. Zoo would be hit hardest by the change. Whereas Handlock would still be playable as is.
Perhaps, but that would make discard a random card minions lose a lot of value. Which is not what they want. Think it would be in more of the line; take 3 damage instead of 2. Limiting it to 9 taps instead of 14.
Yeah I remember that. And I agree with the changes they made. But as of now it does not even follow standard HS rules of basic value. And that's just basic standard, but this is a class card and class cards are suppose to be above basic value.
To say it out loud: It's a piece of shi* card no matter how you put it.
I almost had Shadowform used against me. But instead he decided to Prophet Velen -> Faceless Manipulator -> Mind Blast x2 = 40 damage. Well played.
Why would Envenom be OP? 3 mana doubling weapon this turn, on its own, it does nothing, with hero power, you do 2 (4 using the old hero power but for 5 mana instead since you'll want to upgrade your weapon) damage for about 4 mana, the most you could've done with rogue's cards alone is [3 (Assassin's Blade) +2 (Deadly Poison) +2 (Deadly Poison)] x2 (Envenom) x2 (Envenom) = 28 damage which is a lot but requiring 5 card combo and effectively 8 mana. Granted you could do more or faster but you have to jump through fiery hoops to make it work (Spiteful Smith or Preparation). I just dont see how Envenom would be OP.
It was op back in the days when you can buff you own hero power dagger into absurd amount. It is still too easy to abuse with other weapon buffing cards like Spiteful Smith, Captain Greenskin and whatnot. And miracle can draw out those 5 card combo with ease. Assassin's Blade + Deadly + Envenom + Blade Flurry can deals 20 damage to enemy hero and clearing the board, that is very impressive for a 4 card combo that cost 6 mana (provided that you play Assassin's Blade at another turn). There may be other ways to abuse this card and it will limits Blizzard's ability to introduce more cards that interact with weapon without breaking the game, so it should stay gone IMO.
Undertaker really doesn't need a nerf, since he is very reliant on other cards to be good. If you don't get deathrattle minions at the right time, he often dies without doing anything.
I agree, he's strong but I don't think a nerf is required at all.
