*Grats to my fellow countryman Kolento!
I thought there was something fishy when I didnt see a single Hunter. Totally missed the banning, whoops!
I wouldn't try to follow these decks for ladder if you are below legend. With no hunter or leroy, there is a lot less burst, so many more ramp/control decks. And generally, most people lower on the ladder can't afford to put 5 non-naxx legendaries in their decks.
Leroy is getting nerfed, but is not out yet. Just wait for the
Leroy -> Reincarnate x2 -> rockbiter/lightning bolt shaman burst for 21. or...
Leroy -> Windfury -> rockbiter x2 -> lightning bolt for 27.
Am i the only person who thinks its kinda stupid all the tourneys run 2-3 decks why not 1+ sideboard?
Nope... totally agree. I think the current format is atrocious.
Yeah, I miss M:TG tournaments specifically because of sideboards. Although this format might make more sense considering the differences between the class system in HS and the color/multicolor deckbuilding options in M:TG. Plus M:TG sideboards were 15 cards which amounts to half the cards in a HS deck so I'd probably be thinking more of a 7-10 card sideboard if there were to be one.
Poor Rexxar... this set of decklists pretty much shows the death of Hunter. Even top-tier players agree.
I don't think he's dead, but no one is willing to take any chances during an event where money is on the line. Once the card nerfs go live, someone will be experimenting with Hunter trying to see where they can take it ;)
I'm not sure banning buzzard and Leeroy was necessary. Surely Blizz could have released the patch to the tournament players for the duration of the match.
why the hell is (almost) everyone running paladin?
The same could be said for Warlock. Not one Mage or Hunter and only one warrior. Need more diversity Blizzard!
All the Paladin decks were Control too.
I was wondering the same but reading the description cleared things up. WIth Leeroy and Buzzard banned you would obviously pick the stonger tournament decks. Handlock, control pala and druid are so versatile and with the other rule of only playing a maximum of two games with one deck you need to take into account that you have to change the deck even if you face roll with one deck.
There was still way more deck diversity in this tournament than in recent tournaments where everyone ran the same Hunter deck. People were also willing to try a host of new things in their decks. I thought it was a breath of fresh air, honestly.
That's true. I was surprised to see all the Priest decks. I think Priest is one of the funnest decks to watch (and play) because of the creative plays.
Me too. Priest matches just take so many unexpected twists and turns.
