I think it could be good after the next rotation. Druid just wants to ramp into big win cons right now, this doesn't really help the maly-token-togwaggle-hadronox-mechathun plans.
ITS not a Legendary, ITS just rare card
Actually if you look at the gem there and the little border you'll see this is in fact a legendary card
Was surprised the Fandral version doesn't make a 4/8 since the spellpower version also gets 2 extra health.
It takes the highest attack and health from its forms.
That's how it works with Loti but that never was the logic behind it. Fandral combines the "choose one" options, and while there were only two options, he combined both, ability- and statistics-wise. Which makes sense as it takes a literal interpretation of Fandral's bility, unlike with Wardruid Loti. I don't get the downvotes on Mamizou.
Fandral Staghelm does not combine stats, he takes the maximum from the possible forms. This was always the case. See for example Druid of the Claw, the Fandral version is a 4/6 with charge and taunt, not an 8/10.
Also, what Mamizou wrote is not consistent with the (wrong) combine-stats interpretation as it stands - there is no way to reach 4/8 by combining the stats of all 4 cards or of any pair-combinations. He just randomly claimed 2 more health should be added for some arcane reason.
It's not "randomly claimed". He was assuming that Loti should be the sum of all the gains given with each form vs the base form.
IE, imagine that the choices were, essentially, gain:
1. +4 Heath and Taunt
2. +2 Health and Spell Damage
3. +3 Attack and Rush
4. Poisonous and Stealth
Add those together and you'd get "Gain +3 Attack and +6 Health and KEYWORDS" which on the 1/2 base would be a 4/8.
It's not that irrational a jump to make. He wasn't combining the stats of each beast transform, but rather the net changes to the base card, which I understand cause we've never gotten a card that'd make us question the way things combine before.
It's more like if Druid of the Flame was a 1/1 instead of a 2/2 at base but still had the same Choose One. Would it transform into 5/5 (taking max values) or a 6/6 (combining the +4/+1 and the +1/+4)? We've never gotten a card that fully confirmed that in hearthstone history so while we might've been able to infer the 5/5 for balance purposes, it was never fully validated till now.
Oh, I get it... That seems like a very counterintuitive way of thinking about it, especially since Loti gets more than two forms, but OK.
ONLY play in wild then
I really hate this card design. Not because it's bad (like most of the dummies in the comments are saying), but because druid has enough cards that can be thrown in any deck. This card has the same issues as Branching Paths in that it's waaaaaay too versatile to the point of it being auto-included. This card is GOOD. The 4 2 rush is SO STUPID. That's already a great card in Druid of the Scythe. Every single one of its forms is GOOD. They're all literally cards in themselves. Premo-taunt stats, really good rush stats, Dalaran Mage and a slightly worse Giant Wasp which doesn't matter because the +1 damage is irrelevent because you never go face, or expect to hit a large 1 attack minion with the wasp. At this point you might as well give druid a 3 mana: Battlecry: gain the stats of any 3 drop in the game. YOUR CHOICE.
And the worst thing about this card: It's a freaking legendary. GENIUS. Make a card that can be thrown in any deck, then make it legendary so new players cant take advantage of it. All of the problems with Branching Paths
Sure, any deck, minus the following:
Any deck with Oaken Summons
Any deck with Witching Hour
So... with the current druid decks out there its only playable in Spiteful and Malygos. Spiteful sees almost 0 play, so have fun with your barely improved Malygos Druid. So yeah, it is pretty mediocre (like most of us dummies in the comments are saying).
I laugh every time i think about how the reviewers dumped on branching paths and said it was garbage and cost way to much for way to little gain. So hilarious because all they ever look at is cost and not the opportunity on a card. Clearing branching paths was a crazy good card if you looked at it purely from effect and choice. Hard to believe but UI was also considered junk before release. How they ever came to that conclusion is beyond me.
Shit card
I'm not happy paying 3 for any of these cards. I also don't think I'm happy paying for the flexibility, because 2 of the forms are basically the same (the 4/2 and the 1/2 are both removal) and one of the forms is basically useless (Dalaran Mage). This card is either just garbage, or just barely playable.
I feel like this is viable ONLY for Spiteful druid, which is not a thing now. So yeah, will see no play in constructed, until spiteful druid will become great again - in arena this card above average, but not great. Just mediocre legendary all in all.
Interesting card, hard to evaluate. I feel that right now druid decks dont want such a "small" utility card, but after rotation maybe druid will change quite a lot and be interested...?
Not terrible, not great. Just mediocre.
Way better than it looks.
Hot Garbage.
