Blizzard to Update Deathstalker Rexxar to Include New Beasts
There was a bit of outcry this past weekend about Rexxar not getting updated beasts. The Hearthstone team agrees with the community that they should have updated his Build-a-Beast Hero Power and an update to it will make its way here in the future. No date is yet available for the update, but we've been told they'll let us know when they have more information to share.
Some beasts may end up being not included on his hero power, much like how King of Beasts is not included.
Quote from KeganbeGreetings,
Many players have noticed that Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power does not include any of the new Beasts that were added with the Kobolds & Catacombs expansion.
Since then, some players have provided constructive feedback regarding the state of Deathstalker Rexxar, and we agreed that a change to the Hero Power was warranted.
As such, we will be updating Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power to include new Beasts going forward. Please be patient, as this is a fairly complicated endeavor and we may need to start with a smaller change before a more permanent solution is implemented. We don’t have a date for this change to share with you today, but we will provide more information once we have it.
Please also note that as new Beasts are released, we may need to mark some of them as exempt for various reasons, much like how King of Beasts is currently excluded from the pool of Beasts that Deathstalker Rexxar’s Hero Power can pull from.
Thank you for providing constructive feedback. We see your love and passion for Hearthstone and believe that the best way to make Hearthstone better is to do so together.
See you all in the Tavern!
No, they want to add all the 5-mana or less beasts but they might put some exceptions. They just won't be part of his pool of cards whenever they'll do that.
Playing Renounce recently I noticed I also got none of the new cards. I played 5 games and now I am pretty sure. Please fix this...
Nah, I also played Renounce and got new druid legendary x3 + treant + this 8 mana bear (and hadronox to make my opponent cry)
I must have been very unlucky then. But now I think about it, I was playing wild and there are not that many new class cards...and there is no occurrence bonus like in arena.
I'm happy, that not only my code is perfect objective.
Why is King of Beasts not included again?
DK Rexxar uses 2 categories of beasts - 1. with text 2. with single keyword(s) or blank. Its made that way to avoid for example double battlecry (double crab beast).
King of Beasts has a text so can't be in 2nd category, and taunt probably collides with other taunt beasts from 2nd category (double taunt?) so he can't be in 1st one.
Anyway there are only 5 new beasts to create - 2 in first category (hydra and unicorn) and 3 in 2nd (mole, beetle and basilisk)
Im happy for rexxar. Me control and me go face.
dunno why so many people praise the "change" it was obvious that should be the case that new beasts always get added to the pool.
this bug wouldn't be found so quickly if so many people weren't playing spells hunter which isn't that strong tbh.(currently has high win rate but that's because most decks aren't refined yet)
btw the card has 43% win rate in a 55% win rate deck nust shows how underpowered the card is. also every time I played it it really felt underwhelming. needs a serious buff like zombeasts cost (2) less or battlecry deals 3 dmg.
its RNG card, sometimes you get insane cards sometimes you dont.
the reason people were so mad about it was because initially blizz said it wasn't a bug. thats why people are praising this change. it isn't a bug fix. its a design philosophy fix.
yeah I know the video is from KFT meta, still only good in spell hunter and not midrange hunter as most people play him there for some reason.
if the hero power is "looked at" they might buff it, no?
Yelling at Blizzard might not always be the most constructive thing to do... but hey! Sometimes it works!
So happy they’re fixing it. Hunter is a great class, and the new Spell Hunter archetype is a breath of fresh air for the class. The DK is very underrated. Sure, it has a level of RNG that can swing for or against you, but that’s the fun IMO. The battle cry should be 3-4 damage instead of 2, but seeing as it is playable on turn 6 it’s not horrendous.
Well done Blizzard! Just don’t drag your feet to actually fix it.
