Not necessarily. You want it up as long as possible but you dont want it to die on your opponents turn
Agreed. There's a balance to be reached there. I doubt many people will Harrison it the instant it comes out, though, which would make it tough to use in a mill deck.
It depends. If 15 mana turn five (or earlier with ramp) combos become common it could be worth destroying it immediately.
If it is played once the opponent has nine mana when playing this then you want to destroy it ASAP as it denies the death rattle (the opponent already has 10 mana).
But... if they're playing a mill deck, you don't care if they have extra mana. See what I mean? There are lots of reasons to destroy it at various times, but it depends quite a bit on what deck they're playing.
For a 15 mana turn five combo, the Druid needs a way to self-kill the weapon. Barring any other options in the new expansion, in Standard that requires Medivh, which costs 8 mana. So an opponent just has to burn the Twig before the Medivh turn (or before the 1 durability turn). Right?
Then drop a freaking UI into your opponent. Ouch.
The real winner with these legendary weapons is Malkorok.
Only if Legendary weapons get added to his pool -- which is doubtful.
No reason they wouldn’t
Cursed Blade
currently not in standard and Malkorok is. I mean it shortly wont be in an expansion after this or two but... not that big of a problem really.
So deathrattle, replenish ten mana. And if someone uses Harrison on this on t-5, Druid ramps to 10 mana crystals. Sounds like a good deal.
Counting on your opponent behaving irrationally is a poor strategy for success.
Gotta be the first weapon that doesn't belong to a Museum.
Cursed Blade?
Does this refresh up to 10 mana crystals, or does it give you a full mana bar? If the latter, you probably don't want to play Harrison Jones on turn 5 and give your opponent 10 mana crystals for their turn 5.
Mm... you give them 10 mana, but you draw five cards in exchange. Interesting trade.
This is a very good question. If this is like a Counterfeit Coin on steroids then no big deal. If it gives you 10 mana crystals for the rest of the game (wording is the same as Astral Communion, so seems legit) then that is very different.
If weapons become utterly reccurent, you want to to include Harrison to get value. This one in particular : Druids have only one weapon and it's a legendary so it's impossible for them to destroy them instantly and proc the deathrattle. The earliest turn it can be played on is T1 (coin + double innvervate) making it a Turn 6 proc so by then Harrison is playable and instead of letting your opponent spend is T6 mana and then refill to 10, you can deny most of it by giving them "only" 4 mana, draw yourself a card and get a 4/5 body and this is the absolute worst scenario.
If he doesn't draw it before turn 10, you actually get a chance to fully deny it and draw 4 cards and all he did was to pay 4 mana for a single 1 damage attack. This is the best case scenario.
But then you could just play a Bloodsail Corsair if you want extra mana to do your stuff.
