Upcoming Changes to HearthPwn Accounts
Earlier this year, HearthPwn provided users the ability to merge their HearthPwn account with a new or existing Twitch account. With this account merging, we’re able to provide more streamlined account security, faster user support, and an easier log-in process. Additionally, Twitch account merging allows users to take advantage of two-factor authentication if they choose to enable it. Over 88% of Curse users are logging in with Twitch, and we’d now like to move towards maintaining a single user authentication system on HearthPwn.
Starting on December 20th, all users will need to merge their HearthPwn account with a new or existing Twitch account. Merging your account takes less than a minute, and you won’t lose any account data. Your display name, forum posts, and comments won’t be impacted at all. After you’ve merged accounts, you’ll simply log in using your Twitch credentials.
Ready to merge your account? You can do so here.
Still have questions? You can visit our FAQ here or submit a support ticket to request more information.

Done! Thank you Hearthpwn for this great and fun opportunity :) In my personal experience the funniest moment in Hearthstone was when I first read the flavor text on the Classic Rogue spell Vanish.
The pros definitely outweigh the cons. Being able to retire our ancient login system and letting Twitch manage it is going to help us worry about other things on the site. You can also enable two-factor auth on your Twitch account to keep it more safe which is quite awesome.
If anything, think about it as just leveling up your HearthPwn account. You never know, you may end up wanting to use Twitch in the future or any of the other sites in the network which rely on Twitch logins as well.
But why? I mean, I like Hearthpwn, but Im not interested in merge it with Twitch. Why is now mandatory? It makes no sense for people that is not interested in it.
I really dont like when you have to login in other sites to be able to have an account in the site you enjoy, and Im probably continue that way. What's gonna happen? I won't be able to post anymore? Im gonna lose my account here? or what?
It's about money. Whether or not that's ethical, don't let them fool you into thinking it's about any other reason than profit... Regardless of whatever deals Twitch and Curse have that we don't know about, the value from the social media perspective alone is profitable.
I don't know if I'll participate after the change, either. I don't like doing this on principle. What I hate even more is when site admins don't just admit they're doing it for money; instead, they cobble together whatever they can find as "benefits," which in this case isn't much. "Leveling up your Hearthpwn account," lol yeah right... More like leveling it up in terms of its value to Curse, so it can be exploited for metrics and social media.
If you guys might have been more honest about this, I wouldn't be nearly as salty about it. Curse knew it was gonna get a lot of blowback on this, so they decide to run a comment lottery in the same post so that the negative feedback will be drowned out by comment entries. This is just dumb. Your motives in this are purely profit-driven. It's shady AF.
Yeah, that comment lottery was a really good excuse, because instead of let people express about the decision whether it's good or not, they let this post fill with 115 pages of nonsenses. Sad.
