Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack Purchases
Ben Brode was out on reddit this evening and stated the Hearthstone team has been thinking about allowing pack purchases for Wild content due to their additional focus on the gamemode this year. Unfortunately, they aren't ready to say anything else right now.
The thread, "Why can't we buy Wild packs?" has been a question since Standard became a thing back in 2016. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about Adventure content but we can only hope that they too returns should packs for Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament make a comeback to the shop.
Quote from Ben BrodeWe've been rethinking our stance on this with our additional focus on Wild this year. Will update you as we have more concrete information.
Besides, I think developing a wild arena that awards wild packs along with a standard arena is a good idea. :P
I like this idea in theory, but fragmenting the player base between too many modes is risky, especially when I already get doubled-queued against repeat opponents, or opponents with better records, far too often.
Been playing few months befor naxx
Of course I want to buy more GvG packs !
I started playing about two months before gadgetzan and have purchased and played all of the adventures that were open to me at the time. I would love for the chance to purchase wild packs and have a wild collection and would love to be able to play Naxx!
With that said, I have never felt what it's like to open a golden Dr. Boom from a pack and I want that feeling in my memories!
Please Ben Brode...make this happen!
How about:
Convert 3 cards of the same rarity/(non)golden for 1 random wild card of that rarity/(non)golden and dust equal to the amount dusting 2 of these cards?
I just DE all my old Wild stuff and I really dont care as I don't play wild anymore. Those cards rotate out and noone rely plays much wild other than people who get sick of standard ladder and go play wild for kicks.
I just joined HS after the release of WOTOG, and I would love to get Naxramas and some of GVG packs
$1 for each Wild Pack , $10 for each Wild Adventure .
The problem with this is that it punishes those who paid full price. Plus it might set a precedent, where a lot of players won't buy the newest 'things' and just wait until they rotate out and become cheaper. Selling things cheaper is not a word a company wants to hear.
I want to be able purchase Hero Khadgar pleaseeee !
Maybe packed all of expansion and adventure cards into one pack for purchase, call it "Wild Pack" or something like that.
Seem good?
Nope. I want to play Naxxramas, not just open cards from it in a pack.
OK, I think they will put everything back on the market and with the same price because of money anddd why get rid of something that can generate money indefinitely right?
You guys are funny, really. Competitive wild format is mostly for people who spend more money that usual, even if it can also be played by casual players. This is absolutely impossible that the wild packs will be same or less expensive than standard. Blizzard want people to play standard and to buy standard packs, not wild. So, no matter how we will be able to buy wild packs, buying cheaper packs that way will not happen. Don't expect something else.
Even if, myself included, we want theses packs less expensive.
I think that they should release the packs selectively throughout the hearthstone calendar to celebrate events. Don't just bring back wild pack purchases. Make it special and with some sort of purpose. I would go with lunar events, holidays or solstices and equinoxes. It could be placed before the release of a new expansion with a small discount to help empty out player accounts. I would add adventures as well...
Blizz pls, I would like to complete my wild collection. I don't want to craft it all...
Yes for adventures, you get many guaranteed, worthwhile cards, plus a lot of additional content in the form of the adventure itself. Hearthstone has very little PvE content, and the adventure missions are really fun, specially since they have tons of little details and hidden interactions that are really fun.
I honestly don't care about the wild packs at all, I'd maybe ocassionaly buy some? I'm more worried about standard in general, while I like big card pools, wild one is unreasonably large to maintain any form of balance in the long run. If anything I'd buy wild packs to have more options for tavern brawls and adventures.
Would I buy wild packs if I could? No, you're better off just crafting the cards you need. Would I like the ability? Yes, absolutely.
Would I buy wild adventures if I could? If I didn't have them I would absolutely buy them.
I 100% agree. I wouldn't/don't need to, buy wild packs, however having the option for other players is fine with me. Like I stated before, bringing old cards backs is a different animal all together. For me anyway, collecting and having 99% of all backs means something. Bringing old backs, back again would NOT BE COOL!!!
It really doesnt matter much, after you open ~90 Packs, you get all cards Common and Rares from Set, the rest of Packs YOU ONLY BUY DUST, which you can get in any Pack.
It only will be for who dont have Commons and Rares.
