Blizzard Rethinking Wild Pack Purchases
Ben Brode was out on reddit this evening and stated the Hearthstone team has been thinking about allowing pack purchases for Wild content due to their additional focus on the gamemode this year. Unfortunately, they aren't ready to say anything else right now.
The thread, "Why can't we buy Wild packs?" has been a question since Standard became a thing back in 2016. Unfortunately, nothing has been said about Adventure content but we can only hope that they too returns should packs for Goblins vs Gnomes and The Grand Tournament make a comeback to the shop.
Quote from Ben BrodeWe've been rethinking our stance on this with our additional focus on Wild this year. Will update you as we have more concrete information.
Lol.
>Lots of people annoyed by how expensive HS packs are in comparison to other similar games
>Yo, are you interested in buying packs that are by definition less valuable than the current ones?
Adventures are a different beast. I love to play against the bosses, especially when new cards are released... I like that kind of content, and it's sad that newer players miss out on it.
Personally, I think adventures should have never been removed for everyone, because new players do not have access to these. I hope they do bring them back, but it won't affect me, because I bought at least the first wing of each adventure, and I can still buy the rest of the wings since I own at least 1 wing.
this guy really know how to milk every penny from our pocket
Exactly.
Since I already done all the Adventures, I don't really care about them. But I would love to buy wild card packs. :)
Best case scenario would be offering old Adventures for free, after they left standard, so every player can eventually experience them, and or get those card rewards.
Why is that a bad idea? Those adventures aren't purchasable anymore. Either make them purchasable again or give them away for free, now need for getting rid of good content for no reason.
If Blizzard really wanted to help Wild they would give Wild packs as daily log-in rewards too. Ooooooh so people get 40 dust a day. So what? Wow, they'll have enough for a legendary every 40 days!
New players aren't going to get Wild cards otherwise. No one is going to sink time and money into a format that gets no support or balance. If anything, it's quite the opposite, where troublesome cards get sent to Wild where Blizzard doesn't have to care anymore.
With daily rewards old players get a dust reward for playing a long time and new players get a taste of Wild. If old players don't like it that's too bad. If Blizzard wants people to play Wild they have to make it easily accessible instead of impenetrable.
I think this would be, by far, the best thing that could happen to Hearthstone. A) It entices new players, some of the most important players for this game, B) it gets old players to log in for daily packs, C) it makes complete sense so it probably won't happen.
I have to agree. It seems like part of the reason Standard became a thing was to make it easier for Blizz to make new cards. No need to balance around 1000+ cards, just a few hundred from the current XP's.
I don't buy packs and I'm only missing last wing of BRM so these wouldn't do much for me. I thin adventures should be available, there's not much PvE content on hearthstone and by missing adventures you are missing most of it. You can always get cards by crafting, but there is no way for new players to get PvE experience of adventures. About the packs: I would like the system where they sold only general packs in store where you can choose upon opening which expansion they are. By representing wild expansions here as an option people would get wild cards if they wish for. This would allow ppl to buy 60 pack bundles, when they don't want 60 packs from same expansion. Also there would be no more accidentally buying bunch of packs from the wrong expansion. And the most importantly it would give players option to choose their tavern brawl and arena rewards and if players have already enough cards from all the expansions they could spare those general packs until new expansion hits and then they could open cards from new expansion instead of cards they already have.
Actually Starcraft remastered won`t be free. Blizzard gifted us the original version (yeah, 20 y.o. game).
Don't care about packs, but I would love to see adventures back for new players. Even if they don't end up using them in Standard, they are fun.
Honestly, anyone who voted no for these polls are mentally ill. Who wouldn't want unavailable cards for purchase again?
people who just dont want to purchase them
Less clutter on the purchase screen for new players. Didn't want them accidentally buying things they couldn't use in Standard. Thought that people would just create the Wild cards they needed with Dust.
