Post Your Questions in Our Thread
We've got a dedicated forum thread for your questions. Blizzard asked us if we'd be able to forward any questions on that the community here has and we think it's a great idea. Post them in the thread and we'll make sure they get seen.
Make sure they're good!
notice i said "more of a factor". do you know how many cards are NOT dragon, mech, demon, beast and murloc?? if you look at other card games almost every minion/creature belongs to some type
Mmm, maybe you've heard of dragon priest/warrior/pally? And beast druid? What about jade golems decks?
lol you didnt read any of the previous comments did you?
Right, and like other cards games they usually keep the tribal synergies relegated to a couple, or even no tribes per set. I guess I missed more in your comment. I definitely would like if every card had a rellavent tribal tag, but until there is synergy for them I can see why they don't want to over complicate the game unnecessarily.
Maybe
If they should answer truthful the answer to the second question would be: "Yes, of course, we can answer your first question!" and the answer to the first one will be: "No!". ;)
I hope they stream Ben Brode struggling to reach legend.
I think he has no time for games especially if this is some card game or whatever it is. He's a business man you know.
Yeah thats true, considering he said is hard to find time and place to record those 'Counter Kripp" videos, still think it would be really fun.
Says in, at the top 5 PM(17:00) GMT+0.
pls upvote this, i would love to see handlock again. Standard or Wild doesn't matter just bring back my Molten ;(
Why do you need tournament mode when you have so many websites organizing tournaments according different rules. It is pointless to have something in the game itself, when the adding a person as a friend and playing vs him is perfectly fine and sufficient for this to work. And if they implement something in the game it would not cover all the cases, tournament types, etc. So it will be obsolete right after its launch. What do you need the tournament for, which is not provided by the websites that organize tournaments for different games?
For me its just a wrong philosophy to include everything you can think of when making a product instead of making it doing one thing but better. From practical point of few you will not get what you expect from this feature (even after it is added to game) and I'm pretty sure that when you realize that you will continue to press Alt+Tab and use the websites, like you already used to. And besides that it is strange to insist on feature which will needs months for developers to complete just to save you half a second for an Alt+Tab ;)
FYI, don't post the questions here if you hope to get them answered by Ben Brode or Dean Ayala.
Post them here: http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/20475279/developer-insights-live-stream-qa-1-10-2017
You can practice for tournaments playing other tournaments. :D
Guys prepare your 4Heads bbrode will be live 4Head
Btw: expecting to get serious answers from twitch chat LUL good idea devs LUL
Really hoping we get some decisive answers as a result of this, rather than them dodging the real questions on the livestream.
Glad that they've understood that an Q&A is very much required after the short recent interview that go both me and my cat confused. Also, frankly, worried.
Hope it'll be cleared up with well rounded responses rather than the ones with cryptic endings.
Hope they do it the la'Jeff way.
"This didn't work out, this is what we're going to try now. If it doesn't, well try something else until we find a common ground"
not the...
"Perhaps it'll work out, this is how we perhaps, maybe can fix it. It didn't fix it, well better just leave it alone"
By question in the blog does that mean here?
In that case, my question is:
If you're going to change/nerf staple cards within the core set because they are used over other options. Will you replace that spot with a similar card that has the same powercurve/effciency as the previous one; or are you trying to tune down the overall usage of every card to the same level( the pipe dream).
If that is the case, it doesn't really achieve anything other than a huge dust sink for your player base. Resulting in a worse new player perspective, also unnecessary in the long haul.
If that isn't the case, isn't it better to rotate the whole Classic set out and reprint it. Aka, don't sweep the dirt over to wild.
If there is a demand to change cards that has proven them selves as some of the best design your team has to offer; the thing that is truly lacking isn't the state of those cards. But the design imagination of your team?
Second question (short one)
Cards you've changed in the past i.e Bladeflurry and Warsong - was changed to "open up design space"/"limited design space". However, nothing new was printed to make those cards a part of that new design space. How come? How long did you plan to wait to make such unused cards playable again?
----
As you surely can see, when you're team talks about changes. People get worried more than excited.
These question might come out as something rude, but it's what circling most of or minds. Because of YOUR previous decisions.
ps: love the game, don't murder it. :P
also sorry for my wonky grammar, these kind of questions usually get's reformed when asked anyway
Hi 70cal.
Previous decisions in changes to cards.
If you remember the last rotation they kinda murdered cards from Druid, Rogue and some other ones. Necessary, yes. But not to the extent that makes em' unplayable. You know which cards I mean, if not there is a recap here on Hearthpwn. Those cards could be removed out of the game completely and no one would notice it(figure of speech, close to the truth).
It's not unreasonable to ask them to take greater care this time around. And if it doesn't work out, better just to rotate them out of Standard completely instead of making the cards unplayable. Then reprint cards to fill those slots; OR take cards that rotate out and fill those places.
If you read between the lines of the previous interview(which is unclear, we'll just have to see in the upcoming Q&A. Is that they don't want classic cards to have a greater powercurve than new cards. Simple as that. Which is a horrible thing. It's healthy to have i.e class identities.
Correct way to balance such things is the limit of imagination and balancing of new cards. Which they kinda succeeded with in the latest expansion if it weren't for 2 particular cards in combination. One would think they've learned there lesson, since it has happened before, where 1 was nerfed and the other's were ignored since they rotated out a couple of months after.
That is/was bad design, can't sugar coat that. I.e Played against a lot of Bladeflurry or Ancient of Lore the past year?
If you interpenetrate my post as a rant, that's ok. I'm one of those people who in nature, "questions everything". I'm voicing my own opinion as a realist. Using previous examples and a collective ongoing debate since the start of Old Gods.
Who can say that I'm wrong, or they are right. I'm not trying to seize the development.
If I can't/we/anyone discus it. Then how would we know who's wrong or right.
If you think it'll sooth people, I could un-bold the theorycraft that processed my questions.
