You know that there were fusion based OTK (cyber stein otk, magical scientist ftk, chimeratech otk to name a few) at the first years of the game? we also had hand control, Chaos control, Yata lock and so much more broken decks and OTK. I agree that the game became much quicker, but don't complain about otk when in the start of the games we had not only otk decks but ftk and ztk.
if you're missing the "good old days" of yugioh you can play in goat format.
also, as a synchron player I can tell you that playing a synchro based deck requires a lot of skill and careful planning.
Sure, problem cards always exist, but that's is the ban list for. Those were single cards that enabled it, not an entire gameplay mechanism.
I know, I just hate the people saying fusion is perfect and all else should burn.
But you can extend it to all decks. Let's take the first strong pendulum deck, qliphort as an example. Was it broken because it was pendulum, or because it had 2 broken cards (towers and scout) and was abusing a third one (skill drain)?
the same goes for any strong deck. the fact that a strong deck is getting killed with one to three hits on the ban list shows that the cards were broken and not the mechanic. Than again, I agree that there are mechanics that are more likely to be broken.

maybe, but that not the reason they chose to nerf them. they chose to hit the classic cards because those are the cards that will always be in standard. any other problematic cards will just leave eventually, but those will stay for ever. also, the cards they did nerf were actually pretty strong (leper gnome ,ancient of lore), or heavily limiting either the meta ( both silence cards, force of nature, big game hunter) or the design space they have to create new cards (master of disguise. blade flurry, big game hunter).
Patient Assassin is 2 mana for a minion that you don't want to use until turn 6+, and die to any aoe. massive tempo Loss.
Feign Death is a 2 mana card that require another card with specific mechanic to already be on the board, and usually doesn't give you enough tempo swing, even if you meet the requirements. most of the time its a dead card.
I can go on and on, but most cards on your list aren't played for a reason/played in a deck that isn't good in the current meta/actually played in some deck.
Why is everyone speaking about "fixing" the meta? When did the meta broke? I dont get it.
When the meta stops being fun, it is broken, and when you want to smash your screen because face hunter, aggro and patron, it is not fun, therefore = meta broken.
i'm one of the people that tried to made excuses for any card people called "trash" that raveled in TGT, but I'm starting to think the devs are trying to murder warlock.
75% of the cards are "garbage" only if you compare them to the current meta. If we assume that the meta will become slower and more control oriented, they suddenly become good. in control vs control, Anub'arak could be played. first of all, its high cost will help you with Joust . furthermore, its true its low health is a vulnerability, but its attack is high enough to make it a threat you must deal with, and if you drop him turn after turn, in addition to the 4/4, the enemy will run out of removal very quickly, or he will have to use a silnce, which in control vs control your silence is something you really want to keep until you must use it.

innervate + deathwing, dragonlord. just put one on the board, and it will keep replacing itself forever.

right, because Mysterious challenger is a classic card...
they said they will only nerf basic and classic cards, remember?

4600 gold, 14,500 dust.

the reason non of this card is played is because there bad, or less good than other cards.
Piloted Shredder is used because its the best 4 drop, while there are a lot better 6 drops than Piloted Sky Golem.
