posted a message on Are there any 'must have' Legendaries from this set?

Varian Wrynn, if you want to invest in wallet warrior [control]. The value appears to be insane.

Rhonin appears interesting if you plan for a control type mage.  Getting three arcane missiles from deathrattle is pretty good to me. Semi card draw and gives you 9 damage for three mana with three activators for antonidas.

Aviana seems to be a new must add for ramp druid.

Justicar Trueheart will probably see play in control decks.

These cards seems pretty good to me. I mean, this is considering the meta will slow down significantly.

Mech druid has worked in the past, interesting to see if it will work in this meta.  A possible change could be nourish over starfire.  Serves as a extra card draw engine, helps replenish the hand once you flood the board with a mechwarper combo.

posted a message on Rank 1 Legend (EU) Control Demon Lock

It's quite amazing how well the deck plays.  Currently I'm trying out Loatheb over Sludge.  It helps against non aggro Pallys and Rogues.  Also testing Earthen Ring Farseer over MCT.  The extra three heal is great against Warriors trying to execute your Twilight Drakes or what not.   I've also tested a second ooze over MCT.  Its more for the troll against Warriors I suppose. Possibly a bit too much, but too hilarious not to use.

Went from Rank 18 to Rank 7 with roughly 70% win with my slow climb.  Hoping for similar results once I hit the grindy ranks.  Thanks for the deck.

I accept to see what they say. I've been surprised to find most often it's friendly people on the other end. If it's someone raging, I type something in another language. Throws them off.  Diffuses their rage into confusion and disappointment.

I saw one at rank 7 today. Got rolled by turn 5. Figured it wasn't my day by running into, what I thought at the time was, the only person on the whole server running murlock. Logged off right after.

posted a message on What was the first legendary card that you got in a booster pack?

Literally, my first pack I ever bought, Lady Sylvannas was waiting. I knew it was legendary but didn't know how good it was. "Take control of an enemy minion when it dies? Is that even good?". I figured what the hell and threw it immediately into my crappy f2p Mage deck. My third pack I got a golden Leeroy.  I saw how much dust it gave And decided to disenchant right away, not knowing how good leeroy was pre nerf and how rare a golden legendary was. "Oh I'm sure I'll get another one later." Whoops.

posted a message on When you netdeck are YOU truly playing?

Short answer: yes, I am playing the game even if I am playing with a deck someone else thought of.

Actually, the point of the game is to have fun in whichever way you find.  It is a game. If you really want to be technical about it, the point of the game is reduce your opponents life to zero before he/she does the same to you.

Hearthstone has a very limited card pool. Meta changing/innovative decks are harder to find with limited options. The most popular decks you see right now is the most optimized use of all available cards ATM.  Plus, some cards are just better than others, which leads to more usage for some. I dont know what to tell you, every game with a competitive aspect has tiers.

Just because you play a popular deck doesn't translate into immediate success. It's not as if using Kolento's fatigue Mage deck will mean his skill, decision making, and the RNG he gets will automatically transfer itself onto me. And it's not like I'm facing Reynad when some random warlock player decides he wants to play some variant of zoo.   It's not the highlander universe for crying out loud. Not everyone can make an original competitively viable deck, but that doesn't discount what someone can actually do with a deck created by someone else.

And maybe, some people actually have a lot of fun laddering and ranking up. Yes, some people have fun winning and doing well. So weird right? Some love the challenge and strategy involved with high rank/legend play. You know what your opponent is packing and he knows what you got. Can you still win?  Oh but wait, they're not actually that good and not having fun because those decks/strategies are not original nor game changing. Right, got it. Thanks for clearing that up.  So out of the 20 million registered HS players, only a few dozen are actually good at the game and have truly enjoyed/played it.  Got it. Maybe instead of backhandedly suggesting everyone else is a scrub because you perceive them to be lacking a sense of fun, creativity, and skill,  why don't you put the effort into re working the meta you find to be stagnant. Scrub.

The first thing I took away from this was RNGesus has been truly cruel to you. Still don't have the complete collection after 4k being dropped.  I'd hate to see the RNG you get during a match.

posted a message on Legend in 4 days with Handlock

Playing with your declist I went from rank 12 to rank 8 in about an hour.  It's great to play Handlock again.

    Some quick takeaways:

The matchup against the new variant of face hunter I think isnt terrible. Maybe 55/45 or 60/40 in their favor.  Pleasantly surprised. Not the terrible 30/70 I was anticipating

Judicious use of S.Soul, S.Flame, and Owl is key.  Only one of each. Mis-use of one is unforgiving.

    Gratz on your success.

posted a message on [Legend] Salty Control Mage

I tried it out intermittently for 20 games, 12-8 (60%), played in ranks 20-14.  Fun deck to play.

    My changes:

-2 Piloted Shredder, +1 Kezan Mystic, +1 Water Elemental

Surprisingly, I found I wasn't getting much utility at all from the shredders.  With so many Hunters and M.Mages trying to climb quickly on the ladder, adding an extra Mystic for a chance to draw it has helped, since there is no card draw.  Threw in good old water elemental for hunters, pallys, occasional warrior, and to a lesser extent druids.  Soaks up a bit of their removal.

Trogz and Shredder isn't quite the formidable late game I'd hope for, many times they are just ignored on the board in my experience. Will try out Harrison for Trog and Ysera/Rag for Shredder. Seems like reasonable replacements.

    Gratz on the legend m8.

24-17 (58%) from Rank 12 to Rank 7 so far.   Toughest match up thus far for me is Mech Mage. 1-5 so far. Anyone else having issues with the matchup, or am I just kicking the bucket with this one?
