Ya I watched a vid someone posted and realised the whelp summons deal damage. Still positive that treachery will not trigger the apothecary however.

How does this deal 16 damage in 1 turn? How can unlicensed apothecary trigger off treachery if your opponent isn't summoning anything? I don't understand

Think he meant legendary card not legend rank

Good catch. Did the fact that he wrote "It was patches..." give it away?

I made it to rank 5 with a weapon heavy pirate deck I made. People expect the netdeck list so they get caught off guard a lot of the time. You could literally see them pause when I played cards that weren't from "the netdeck". Also it was wild with ship's cannon. Fun to watch people lose their shit.

It's funny how he keeps referencing MTG cards. At a certain point just go play MTG, why turn HS into a semi-MTG/other CCG clone? Why reprint the same junk you're used to playing with? Looking for a competitive advantage? Looking for a cookie from the community? It's like saying lets make salty taste like sweet because I like sweet...

There's nothing wrong with borrowing elements from other successful games. There's no reason to recreate the wheel just so you can build a car for example. The best things are rarely fully original, they usually just take a few original ideas and add in already tested and successful elements. Do you think that Football, Soccer, and Canadian Football were all completely original ideas, or do you think they took inspiration from others sports?
I understand your point. My retort is; In the Engineering world companies are always trying to maximize profit by minimizing research and development and recycling existing systems. Indeed why reinvent what already exists. But this leads to less progress and overall less options for the consumer. Assuming these CCGs are products, I would definitely like to have options that are truly unique, as opposed to variations of the same flavor.
It is unique, each Car is unique and has a lot in thing in common. But right now we need a bigger SW car because we don't have space to put more things into it, and it nothing wrong to get inspiration from others.
I think you touched on a great point. The "scope" of the two games (MTG and HS) are quite different, which in HS can potentially be limiting. Sure some inspiration is great but with such different deck sizes, opponent counts, RNG factor and a myriad of other smaller details you can't implement all the same "large scope" ideas that MTG offers. The flip side being that's what makes HS great. It's quick, clever, easy to understand and the RNG really separates them. IMO.

I don't have Patches or Leeroy, and I dusted all my STB after the nerf. Even if I did have the cards, I wouldn't play it. I also didn't play Midrange Shaman during the Karazahn meta, even though I could build that deck.

I just don't find those games fun, and I wouldn't want to subject other players to un-fun games.

     Lol what a martyr

Beacause is best exemples, also this game Had a lot of Inspiration from MTG ( Even some Decks recive names from Decks from MTG like Mill, Ramp and Zoo), so it is Natural to compare them.

Murloc Hunter? This could be up there with Dragon Priest or down there with Mill Warlock.

So just to be clear, this will buff all murlocs (I assume plural) on your side of the board? A different buff for each one? Seems legit to me and a nice teaser card with the new mechanic. Let's see what murlocs come available before we all go nuts about how OP this card is. Because Puddlestomper is rotating out.

These all murlocs cards generally affect ALL murlocs including enemies.

After another look it says YOUR murlocs sorry :)

Honestly, I love the change. Adventures bring a small amount of cards, and most of them are useless fillers. That means, after 4 months of waiting for a new expansion, we get almost nothing, and that makes the game even more boring a stale. That's why Karazhan is considered to be one of the worst expansions, if not the worst.

And expansions bring a large amount of cards, and most of them are useless fillers. Instead of spending 3000ish gold for a dozen meta-relevant cards with adventures we can spend 3 or 4 times that with expansions to get the same result without the extra value of a simple story or challenge designs.
    Wow! What a deal!
You say Karazhan might be the worst expansion but despite that label it stilled allowed for decks like Secret Hunter, Beast Druid, Discolock, and Resurrect Priest to become viable. No need to mention what it did for shamans either. Over half the cards from Karazhan saw real play.
Now compare that to Gadgetzan. 3 times the total cards released and did it achieve the same results as the worst adventure? Blizzard only has a certain amount of cards that are good with each release regardless if they release 30 cards or 130 cards. Adventures simply didn't make you gamble for them.
Wow that is short-sighted. Tell me which Karazhan cards are seeing widespread play now is it Beast Druid, Discolock, Secret Hunter or perhaps none of the above? Under the right circumstances Hand Buff decks are likely to become strong (when the next expansion releases), but I doubt Karazhan's impact will be long lasting and as such you can't talk as if the fact that a part of Karazhan's card saw play for a limited time is enough to consider it a success over MSG that currently has some unexplored archetypes in it. Besides as time passes and with experience I am expecting the cards they introduce to contain less fillers and better card quality, but the fact that not 100% are viable is ok. Would you want to have to buy/craft all the cards of every expansion?
MSG has been one of the worst expansions in terms of diversifying the meta. Jade Idol ALONE essentially killed an archetype as wide-ranging as CONTROL. The fact that MSG decimating the idea of a varied meta NOW has nothing to do with Kara's success or failure as an adventure THEN. You can't expect Kara to preemptively work around cards that don't exist yet. Kara interacted with cards that came before in a good way offering more ways to play. MSG interacted with cards that came before by utterly destroying large swathes of different deck types. Kara allowed us to play a bunch fun decks, MSG makes us play Jade, Reno, and Pirates.
The difference between you and I is that I don't have blind faith in a company to magically make things better for no reason when they have never done so before and has offered no evidence to the contrary. If anything, MSG has shown the REVERSE is happening.
If they were adventures I would have all the cards guaranteed anyways, regardless of their viability.
Please explain why you play hearthstone then?
