posted a message on ROGUES ARE GETTING NERFED! 4 Card Changes Coming May 22
    Quote from Moldavone >>

Yes it is safe, with the exception that it doesn't really make sense, because you'll need to disenchant it to get back your dust. So your net dust gain is 0.

I think he means you can basically play around with the card for free now if you have the dust, which is true if you disenchant it within two weeks after the nerfs.

posted a message on Should Dr. Boom Mad Genius get Hofed?

The thing that people need to understand is that Blizzard only put cards in the Hall of Fame on standard rotation. Since that just happened, they won't do it again for another year, and the hero cards get rotated to wild at that point anyway.

So you're not asking for HOF, you're asking for a nerf.

We'll probably get it the same everywhere in the world like the launch time for the expansion, so you'll probably get it around 5pm GMT if you play on the Europe server.

Won't work. Mecha'thun would itself still be alive, so the deathrattle wouldn't trigger.

posted a message on Dust refund and how it works
    Quote from EXOTIC11 >>
    Quote from Infirc >>

craft the golden version of everything you can, you get  to keep the card and will get the full cost refunded for them, there's one thing, you only get dust refunded from maximum copies you can have in a deck, so if you have for example 2 genns, you'll only get refunded for the most expensive one (in case of one being golden) or for only one (in case that both are non-golden), then when you get the dust refund you can decide wether to keep the cards or disenchant them for the normal disenchant rate 1/4th of the price.

If I have 2 Epics (1 golden and the other not) I will be refunded as if both were golden?

No. You'll get refunded 1600 dust for the golden one, and 400 for the normal one.

posted a message on Is Mecha'thun Druid Competitive ?

Certain builds of Mecha'thun Druid are competitive, but I've noticed recently that a lot of people are teching Skulking Geist when they are playing slower decks on ladder, and it's basically an auto-loss when they play it.

In standard rank 4 to rank 1, 5.6% of decks are mages. This is a stat taken from the Vicious Syndicate meta report released 6 days ago, so pretty reliable I would say, because they have a fairly large sample size. Maybe the usage of mage has increased a little over the past week, but that's usually only a couple of percentage points at best (you can check the website in a couple of days and check if the number changed more than that). Personally, I am also on rank 5 and I've only played 3 in the 30-something games I played this season, so the number checks out for me. Obviously deviation from the averages is possible, so that's what probably happened to you, but that would be an exception. There really aren't many mages on ladder right now.

This was made with a strategy for a tournament format in mind, not ladder. It's a completely different ball game. Besides no deck is good against everything, and mage makes up around 8% of all decks in standard across all ranks, so not really a huge deal.

posted a message on void contract is just another rebuke

I agree with you. The card is absolutely useless against anything but combo decks, and control warlock is already quite strong vs combo decks. It really doesn't need this card. I can't even really think of another deck that would play it apart from control warlock, and control warlock contains cards like guldan which it definitely doesn't want to lose.

I'll also say this will barely see any play apart from some experimentation early on. Overhyped.

posted a message on Control Warlock

You can play Skull of the Man'ari and Rin, the First Disciple together really if you want. Just remember not to play the weapon in matchups where you want to play Azari, the Devourer. Those are usually very slow, so you can get away with having a dead card in hand for most of the game.

The way I see it though, Skull of the Man'ari is a must in control warlock nowadays. Getting out those Voidlords early against aggro is game-winning. Rin, the First Disciple is a luxury addition if you face a lot of slower decks. Besides, most control warlock lists run two Stonehill Defenders anyway, so you can get a Rin, the First Disciple from those a lot of the time in slower matchups.

To everyone complaining about netdecking and aggro players:

if your fun is influenced by what other people play, do everyone - not the least yourself - a favor and stop playing this game. It's clearly not for you.

    Sincerely,

everyone who knows netdecking and aggressive strategies are a part (and always will be) of pretty much every competitive card game

I'm playing not for sporting, what can be competitive in casual mode? Where nothing can be achieved.

Casual is a place mostly for farming the gold from 3/3 wins and quests. I guess Blizzard didn't intend for that to happen, but playing aggro is just a faster way to do that. I never play casual and don't farm gold there, but I know a lot of players who are doing it.

You might think that's unfair, but unfortunately what we think doesn't matter. There's no point in complaining about the player base because as long as gold is farmable in casual, people will use it for that purpose. You can't change the attitude of a player base that literally contains millions. This is true for every gamemode in hs (right now).

The way I see it you have these options:

    1. You keep doing what you are doing, and keep complaining about the player base and the type of decks they play. Nothing will change, and you will be left angry after pretty much every session of hs. If this is true, you should probably stop playing the game.
    2. You accept the way other people play and adapt your playstyle/deck accordingly. This is what I do. I try to play a variety of decks. Most of them are competitive. I like to try my best and win.
    3. If you really want a format that is actually casual, where people only play homebrew decks, you need to ask Blizzard for a new gamemode, or a drastic change to the current casual gamemode. You would probably still see a lot of aggro though. Blizzard will also probably not change anything with casual, and I can't see them adding another multiplayer gamemode in the foreseeable future.

TL;DR: try to have fun regardless of what people play against you. If you can't do that, stop playing this game. It's better for your health.

posted a message on How often do you get a 0-3?

Out of my 234 recorded arena runs, I only got 0-3 twice. Funnily enough, they were both with average tier score decks: around 67.

The worst recorded tier score deck I ever got was a 62.7 rogue and I went 3-3 with that.

So it just happens when absolutely everything goes wrong I think.

posted a message on A Scientific Recipe Is This Week's Brawl - Play With Boomsday Deck Recipes

    It's because of money.

If they do this during the initial release, it's possible a lot of players would play this brawl instead of buying packs and playing around with their own cards.

It's the same reason why they release the single player content a few weeks later. They don't want people to try out the free content during initial release. They want people playing standard and buying packs.

Never forget that for all their joyful rhetoric when talking about this game, Blizzard is still a stone cold business.
