posted a message on Biggest difference between Legend and rank 15

I never liked the attitude 'Anyone can do it if they put in the time' that people make about hitting Legend, if you haven't done it don't speculate that you can because its a lot harder the closer you get.

Its also not very convincing when someone tries to make the argument that hitting Legend is just time when their posts are littered with grammatical errors.  If you can't take the time to proofread you probably aren't taking the time to make the correct play or reading the opponents hand.  Those things make a huge difference.

I will say though, the game at rank 15 now is a lot harder than it was a year ago, and there are two players on my friends list that haven't hit legend but they could probably hold their own in a pro tournament.  There are a lot of legit players out there that have never hit Legend for various reason, but that's not the whole community like this post insinuates.

The truth is, we all make the same play 90% of the time, its that other 10% that's the difference.

posted a message on So I don't get it

I enjoy all kinds of decks, my favorite is probably Mid Range - Combo, like Freeze, Oil or Miracle.   Aggro is too fast, Control is just too slow; not that its slow but you know the result 5 turns before the game is over (i.e. the opponent Brann / Kazakus so he'll win, or I have no answer for Jaraxxus).

As much as I dislike it, If the Pirate package didn't exist right now we'd be in a control meta.

The whole problem with the Control vs Aggro right now is the determining factor in 90% of the games is if Control has Reno (or Brawl) on T5 or 6.

    Platinum Hero Portraits.

Of course that will never happen because it would confuse new players =\

posted a message on Which deck requires most skill?

Right now its Control Warrior for me.  I've played hundreds of games with Miracle and its more or less auto pilot.  Control Warrior is outclassed by Reno decks but a good player can win it.

posted a message on Best Advice to give Newbies. Do not spend money on this game.

One major benefit that always goes unsaid about F2P is that they're locked in to a deck.  If you're F2P and your only deck is Aggro Shaman, that's all you can play and you will master it.

I have a full collection and have played about 25 different decks this season.  That's just not a great formula for laddering.  Some were very bad (went from r8 to r18 at one point) some were very good, but right now I'm fried on all the Tier 1 decks so its a bit funner to take a few more losses and have fun.

posted a message on Miracle Jade Rogue [RANK 5+]

I was running a Jade Rogue without Auctioneers, and ran Journey Below and N'Zoth the Corruptor.   The benefit of that deck was more Jade Swarmer from Journey, but I think Auctioneer is superior.

At the end of the day, what this deck wants to do is copy an Unearthed Raptor to a Jade Swarmer.   Your version seems to do that better as its easier to dig.   I'm not sure its better than Questing or Standard Miracle, but its certainly funner.

Eventually I'd like to try out an all in Jade deck with Shadowstep and Shadowcasters, but my guess is the deck is too slow.  It's easy to get caught up in making huge Jade Golems but that's just not the optimal deck.

Also, how often do you sit on Jade Swarmer?  It's one damage, and keeping it in stealth for insurance (and for Raptors) seems good in slower matchups.

posted a message on Is it just me or is miracle rogue by far the most inconsistent top tier deck

It's a YOLO Burst deck, but if you can pilot it well, its fairly consistent.   There are still hands where you have nothing but coins and preps; all decks have bad opening hands, but Miracle is slightly more susceptible to it.

posted a message on What is currently the most overpowered card in Standard?

Brann Bronzebeard, in this meta its just nuts. Drakonid Operative, Dirty Rat, and Kazakus combos are win conditions.

posted a message on I think it's the best meta that has ever been on hearthstone

It's either right now or just after LoE.   I really like Kazakus and the Jade dynamics.

LOE just had so many new and fresh dynamics.  Brann, Reno, Elise, Sir Finley, Anyfin, and Discovery were all amazing.

posted a message on People with all golden decks make more misplays than any other player.

I can't tell you how many players add me to throw insults because I have an all gold deck; for a point I stopped running them for that reason.

I'm sure your analysis of us is purely objective and is not caused by jealously or hate towards players that have spent money on the game.

I'll bite though; if someone has an all gold collection, they are probably working adults.  That means they may be multitasking (playing at work, paying bills, or dealing with kids and a wife).

posted a message on Remove Dirty Rat from the game

I like Dirty Rat, but I do have a problem with Brann Bronzebeard combos.   The combos with Kazakus and Dirty Rat are win conditions in control matches and its to the point whoever gets the combo in hand wins.   Battecries going off twice in the meta is just insane, even more so than the Naxx / GvG meta.

posted a message on Why i say goodbye to all these good people in Hearthstone

Work on it,  I have.  I used to get that way and when I played First Person Shooters competitively I broke about 10 keyboards.

When I first started this game it used to take 4 losses to get mad now its 10 games so its rare.   Unfortunately yesterday that happened (the irony of playing 'fun' decks is you lose a lot which is no fun) and I tossed my headphones and logged out.

You're definitely not alone, just realize when its time to walk away.  Tilt is real, you can lose 3 games in a row through no fault of your own, and then lose another 10 making horrible misplays because your confidence is shot.

Squelch if the opponent starts acting up, or do it automatically if its a big issue.

posted a message on Discussing real solutions to the reno jackson rotation

Reno Jackson was pretty balanced when Whispers came out; the problem is the last expansion before a rotation they have 150+ more cards to chose from.   As someone who likes to play Control Warrior, its hard to beat a Renolock or McMage.  They just have so much value right now once they stabilize it's GG and if they never have to stabilize, you have to deal with Brann Bronzebeard + Kazakus combos with seal the deal against any other control decks.

Reno is essentially a Mage and Warlock card now, so I don't mind it disappearing.

posted a message on Why do people play aggro / face decks?

I like aggro because its a nice break from playing control, and every aggro game is winnable.  That's not the case with Control.

Playing Control there are just some matches you can't win and then there are other matches it goes into fatigue and is won or lost by a single card pulled from Discovery.   Control losses are so much more gutting.   Aggro losses are just whatever; I pissed out cards, he had the answer for it and I lost, next game.
