I know it's almost too late, and Odd Mage normally isn't "non-meta", but in the last days pf this format I'm having quite a bit of success with this Beast Mage at Ranks 5-3. The deck is fun to play, has a lot of tools and can control the board very well, enabling you to burn down your opponent. Have a try!
'Safari mage' is a thing so, although your deck isnt the commonest odd mage variant, its still a recognised archetype.
That aside, i do love playing this deck, although my untamed beastmasters never seem to draw into beasts. Grrr!
Well, that doesn't work that often more than 1x, you'r right. On the other side, it's still a 3/4 body for 3 most opponents immediately try to get rid of, meaning that they often waste resources on it. As this decks can control the remaining stuff pretty well (through hero power + secrets), the'yre still useful.
Just had a 7 win streak at Ranks 6-5 with the deck. A pity that when I first ttied it (about 2 months ago) it didn't fit the meta so well.

Should be more consistent than the treant version. Any suggestions on how to refine it are welcome, there are some alternatives already listed in the deck page.
Odd Mage is the real deal. All that AoE spells that beat the crap out of aggro AND Hunter (4-7 damage and those pesky Wolves are gone) PLUS card draw PLUS one of the most powerful cards in the late game (Jaina) PLUS heal PLUS another finisher in Ragnaros...or 2 if you kept the Zola.
I've gone from Rank 14 to 8 in a hurry. I don't see what can stop this deck right now. And it's really fun to play, too...
And that's a good thing! How boring it would be if everybody was the same! I just drew an extra card with friggin' Nat Pagle BTW, that's really funny to me. And I had him along with Pint-Sized Summoner and Vulgar Homunculus in one of the weirdest boards I've ever seen.
BTW, I'm 16-5 and on Rank 7 right now (76%), 11-1 against Paladin and Warlock.
TBH, the version already published (-2 Cinderstorm, +1 Glyph, +1 Alunth, -1 Bloodmage Thalnos, +1 Archmage Antonidas) seems stronger to me. Goodluck ranking and Havefun!
I can see that. It's also costlier, even if not by much. You could run my version without Legendaries and even without (or with 1-2) Epics, which may be nice for people that want to reasonably compete in this Meta without the possibility to spend.
13 games are not a worth pool to claim a "75%" win rate as a consistent number in terms of Ladder.
Of course, small sample size. The wins were almost all against the two dominant decks of the moment, though (Odd Paladin and Cubelock), so I'm pretty confident this is at least a reasonable indication. But you're absolutely right, I'd need to play way more games than that to have real proof!
This deck is a joke. A very funny one! Just built it from the cards I already have to complete the daily mission...ended up going 10-3 in my first games with it, 8-1 against Warlock and Paladin (as you can see below - this was from Rank 10 to 8).
The deck generates loads of funny moments, from a random Millhouse Manastorm to a Knife Juggler that gets additional triggers from the Vex Crow to add insult to injury.
But - it's also explosive and effective: it's WAY faster than Warlock (won all games on turns 5-6) and can control Aggro due to the slew of burn spells. Plus, the opponents don't really know how to react to it, misjudging trades and underestimating its speed.
As I said, I built it with what I already had in stock, so a few upgrades are possible for sure. For instance, I never got past turn 8, so swapping the Pyroblast with a second Primordial Glyph. Bloodmage Thalnos also isn't really needed, although more burn and more draw are always appreciated.
What do you think?
Please try it yourself...and have some LOs with it!

Heal Druid seems inconsistent, once it loses momentum it has no swing turns at all
Jepetto Joybuzz in Burn Mage is the real deal. card]Malygos[/card], Archmage Antonidas or even "only" double Cosmic Anomaly for 1 are pushing for the kill every time.

This one
And then I want to experiment with Secret Paladin both Aggro and Control Mage and maybe Silence Priest

Maybe in Beast/Heal deck with Untamed Beastmaster, Vicious Scalehide and Lifedrinker? Even Lightwarden? A pity Shroom Brewer, Fungal Enchanter and Happy Ghoul are rotating out. And it seems to lack a bit of draw.

Yeah, the idea isn't entirely new, I know. I'm just having so much fun right now that I wanted to share my build anyway.

The one that only works if you have a Dragon in hand, of which this decks plays...none?
