You are the only inadequate one here mate, in terms of logic AND reason.
Have you even tried and bothered to read the thread openingpost? Or do you juist run around, poging around telling git gud?
i Said multiple times that you can counter it, i play double rat and a secret eater and have only lost 3 out of my ten last mages. My problem with the combo was that unlike the other quests you cant interact with it once time warm is played. You cant interact from that point. You can try and prevent the combo from happening, wich works fine. But once played there aint no interraction. While any other secret once completed, the game doesnt end the same turn. Only a rogue might pull it off. You can beat all quests once completed except time warp cause it can/Will result in aan op combo or otk.
i still think timewarp is a design mistake, with Exodia as his exponent.
Even with a 60% winrate you rank up very slowly, everything depends on how good your winstreak is. So if you are unlucky and can't manage to get a streak going, its hard to get out there past any ranks.
Hell, even with a 7/10 win rate you can get a low end of only 4 stars if you don't get a streak going. When lucky and you win 7 in a row you gain more then 2 ranks. So streaks are insanely important. Beeing unable to rank is obviously you are strugling to get more then 50% winrate. So you might want to change some decks and try other things.
Suprised to see that more then 85% of the voters don't care about an uncounterable combo because 'it's not a tier 1 deck'. Seems a stupid reason to reason for not discussing this issue.
There is not a single deck out in the current meta that makes me want to rage so much then the Exodia Quest mage.
The infinite rainbow of fireballs to the face for me a is design mistake. Having 20 mana crystals in one turn, if played well, is likely gonna kill you. That i understand. You managed to complete the quest, so you did your job. But then still, we want to have a feeling that we got an opportunity to counter it! Thats the point of Hearstone in general. Fun and interactive, right? If a hunter completes his quest, the game aint over. You can interract with it, same for paladin, warrior, ... But when the Exodia sits in the shadow, preventing the game from beeing played, can you do something?
I feel you cant and it kinda feels like cheating. I understand that the exodia quest mage depends on a combo to be played. once reached it's trolling time. Sure, you can beat the deck. They can have bad draws for exaple. What are the odds double sorcerer's Apprentice and Mr Antonidas are the last 3 cards in the deck, richt? You can play the Jack Sparrow family musical and kill the mage by turn 2 but lets talk about a fun and interractive gameplay!
So i shout out to the community! Think with me on this pain in the ass!
My suggestion to fix the infinite rain of fireballs.
1: Molten reflection mana cost?
Increase the cost from 4 to 5
Making it cost 1 more results in the following.
Play double sorcerer's aprentice for 4. cast Molter reflection for 3 and then you have 3 mana left. So you have to play the time warp for 3. 10 more crystals. Play Antonidas. Cast another Molten Reflection, get the 4th sorcerer's out gain 1 fireball that will cost 0 and the feast continues. Hell, the feast continues in many ways actualy.
Increase the cost from 4 to 6
A 2 cost increase likely still wont be enough to end the endless stream you cant react to. You still have the oppertunity to Timewarp for 2 crystals, giving you the extra 10 crystals. Play Antonidas for 7, And have 3 crystals left to make the time warp shine. Molten for 3 the final Sorcerer's Apprentice, get the unicorn fireball from Antonidas... Wich costs... 0! JOY
I think for not completely destroying the card we could leave it like it is. The problem might lay somewere else.
2: Time warp
A simple sollution might just be... To not make it a spell!
Or how about this for a change.
Solid body, Spell power AND! The extra turn. I imagine there will still be loads of combo's resulting in wins. Seeing there is already 8 face damage, so think of it as a small pyroblast for free for pulling of the combo.
Or just keep it like it is, but make it not bennefit from the Apprentice reduction cost
3: Archemage Antonidas
Aaaah, the Archemage. Always hated this little *** to be honest. The "AHA!" Haunts me in my dreams :(
So, how can we fix the infinite fireball rainbow without touching the original timewarp combo.
A little change to Antonidas might be enough
Resulting in this
It's a fireball alright, but will not trigger Antonidas. Will this be enough? I doubt it butt it feels good to know the Antonidas fireball wont trigger Antonidas.
But, we can also make it a little more RNG
When you cast a spell, add an 'Firbomb' to your hand.
Let's bring back some RNG to mage! The Firebomb!
Speaking of random!
When you cast a spell, add an random mage spell to your hand
Now THIS is more like it!
Exodia Quest mage fixed?
Thx for reading! And looking forward to your sollution.
No Deck always works out, thats the HS beauty, you always have a change. If you manage to get an average 60% winrate you have a fantastic deck, know the game and have the amount of luck needed to pull it of. The problem i have with this is that you can't react or prevent it from happening. Triggering the quest is a no brainer, stalling the game and preventing it from beeing played is frustrating, and the fact it can't be stoped once the combo is ready is a designfault. There should not be an infinitive wall of fireballs. They remove ragnaros, sylvanas to open up designspace, but then they make crap like this.
Sure, i manage to beat it once or twice, mostly if they have bad draws, my mad scientist eats a doomsayer or when the dirty rat manages to get antonidas once in a lifetime. But a playstyle, that pulls of a combo like this should simply not be in the game. I think the timewarp is a gamedesign mistake. You can't interract once it happens.
Give ANY class 20 manacrystals in 1 turns and you get destroyed. It's bad design.
I thought, lets give it another go during lunchbreak.
SUCH FUN AND INTERACTIVE GAME THIS HAS BECOME!
Let's make an entire classes excell at what they already are great at, preventing the game to be played, and then reward them with infinitive fireballs! NO ONE WILL MIND!
Hm, i was expecting a price DROP... What are they thinking. Regional market conditions are not possitive on the consumer side, i for one will be getting less packs now. Thats for sure. What a shame :(
