My big problem with Hearthstone started at the same time Standard was introduced. Every Standard season since then a]has always had a dominant deck or two. Everybody jumps on the band wagon and net decks these decks. So when a player, like myself, comes along for some enjoying games they end up playing against the same decks over and over again. Playing these decks results in a lot of mirror match ups won by the luck of the draw or start. Standard is just un-fun and ridiculously boring. I have switched to playing Wild where the decks are more varied and way more fun. Unfortunately not enough players play Wild. It will stay this way until Wild becomes a competitive format.
Blizzard need t seriously reevaluate Standard in an attempt to remove the stale boring nature of the format. Any format where less than half of the available classes feature in Tier 1 decks is looking for trouble. Less than half is actually quite optimistic, more likely less than a quarter.
Example: Over the last three days I have played over 60 games of Standard using a fun and janky Priest deck: I have played against 35 Prate Warrior, 15 Jade Shaman, 5 Miracle Rogue variants ... and maybe a single RenoLock and a single RenoMage. Does this look like a healthy and vibrant standard environment where creativity and variety can be found. I would answer that with a resounding "NO!!!".
To summarise:
- Standard is boring, un-fun, filled with net decks, and limited archetypes represented
- Wild is fun, but not supported as it is not a competitive format
- Wild and Arena should be supported competitive formats
- More classes need to be given attention to broaden the deck base of the Standard Environment
This is without a shadow of doubt the WORST tavern brawl ever! No fun, all games are very one sided and draw dependent. It requires no skill and is no challenge. I will even forego the free pack and won’t be playing this one. I’d rather go for a prostate exam!
The better early draw is THE overriding factor in who wins the majority of Standard games.
This is not fun! And when a game loses the fun factor it starts down a very dangerous and very slippery slope.
Why would I want to play a game where I can see from my opening hand and mulligan that I don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of competing, let alone winning a game. In many others game a slightly less than optimal draw still gives you a chance in being competitive. Not so in the current Standard meta.
i really don't mind losing, and I do it a lot, it's just that I would rather lose being beaten by a better player, or a better designed deck being piloted well, than by any number of miscreants all playing the latest net decks from the top of the deck box on the homepage or from the deck lists at other Hearthstone content providers.
That's, as I said in my earlier post, my humble opinion.
And yes, I do still hate the current Standard meta and environment.
Coming from 18 years of Magic the Gathering experience I was hoping that the introduction of the new Standard format would breathe some new life into this brilliant game ... but in my humble opinion it has not!
Standard is now all about who gets the better draw ... or do you have an answer to the aggro shaman cheese net decks flooding the ladder and the casual environments. The aggro Shaman deck is just the old face Hunter deck in a pretty frock. Perfect for all of those players with a lack of imagination, no deck building skill and who possess the oh so difficult to master skill of net decking! These decks just grind my gears and completely murder all that is fun in Hearthstone.
Standard is as boring as all hell and about as much fun as a root canal!
I have switched back to playing wild where the games have been both challenging and rewarding. This is because all of the try hard net decking Legend wannabes are all over playing standard with the latest incarnation of aggro Shaman or C'Thun Druid their favorite streamer or website is featuring on any given day ... and this suits me just fine!
This is probably one of Blizzard's biggest bungles and is driving players like myself away from Standard, and I know of quite a few players who have left Hearthstone completely.
Just my $0.02 ... Just putting it out there ... use it ... don't use it ... and I shall now step down off my soapbox!

Can this deck function without Houndmaster Shaw?

This deck is insane fun!
Played 2 successive Spiteful Summoners and got two Deathwing ... and the won by concession.

Played 4, lost 4.
Too slow.

The Pirate package is so unnecessary. Just because you have it does not mean you have to play it.
There are other cards and better choices available.

I wish Patches would just disappear and die!
The most irritating card, not on board, but because he gets put into just about every class deck, whether he is the best card for the slot or not.

Is there a replacement for Finja?

Why bother making those nerfs?
Will it stop the overplaying of the so-called Pirate Package? A resounding NO!
Will it affect the Aggro Shaman decks? Not bloody likely!
So then why do it?
The most pointless nerfs ever made, in any game, period.
Little or no impact on the meta will be noticed. It will still be as stuffed as it is now. Well ... maybe a few less Aggro Shaman players.
Disappointed to say the least.

This boring meta never ceases to produce a bore fest.
Been watching.
Boring. Snooze fest.

Tried 21 ... still doesn't work?
Has anyone actually got this to work?
Or is it all just a hoax?

Greetings,
I created an alternate account from a referral link and have levelled to a combined level of 20.
Went back to my primary account and no new hero!
What gives?
