Yeah welcome back to the hell we've lived in the past 2-3 months! You go aggro and the meta changes to control around you. You go control it goes combo. But here's what I got from last month that I tracked on my Trackstone app.
Warlock was seen the most. Was mostly Even warlock for most of the month. Last few weeks was 50/50 with Even and Healzoolock.
The next group was Druid, Huntard, Rogue and Shaman. All roughly the same %.
Druid I saw mostly Taunt but there was also token, a very few big and a few malygos.
Huntard was 50/50 between spell and Recruit.
Rogue was about 70% Odd and 20% miracle with about 10% Kingsbane.
Shaman was about 70% Shudderwok and 30% Even.
Paladin was almost always Odd but saw only about 8% of all matches.
Warrior was strictly control of some sort but say less that 5% of my matches.
Priest was about the same as Paladin and almost always control with a few OTK.
Now I didn't play a ton of games. I pretty much only play during my breaks and lunch from work so maybe 7 games a day but I still got rank 4 **.
My top deck winrates were Odd Rogue and Healzoolock both at 60%.
Thanks for the precious analysis, I can also confirm your data from my personal experience. You just wouldn't expect combos and heavy control decks to be played at such low ranks, which makes laddering quite frustrating.
However, as I was suggested here I'm having somewhat positive results with zoo healock, secret/tempo mage & odd rogue although winrate is still very close to a 50ish % mainly due to some heavy deck hard-countering me.
I guess it will take a LOT of patience, let's hope Boomsday will set things straight!
I'm a returning hearthstone player who has taken a couple of months break just after we had the last nerfs. I usually manage to get rank 5 or near every season, since the last ladder change i've found myself sinking down to rank 20 due to inactivity.
So after getting back into the game, I thought I wouldn't have much trouble ranking back up to rank 10ish-5ish, it turns out It got really tough.
Not only does it seem like the skill cap of the average player below rank 15 has steeply risen, making even the most simple matches a lot more tough, but also it also seems I can't seem to figure the meta out and how to counter it at lower ranks!
The moment I decide to play control, I somehow get rekt by aggro with nigh perfect draws, taking insane damage to the face before I manage to take control and when I decide to switch to aggro cause I had enough, there's always some kind of control deck which counters perfectly my list making it nearly impossible to get those damn stars.
So my question to the community is, since I'm mainly facing:
This meta utterly sucks! Whenever I play control I just get overrun by stupid aggros who always have a damn perfect starting hand (like, how the neck am I supposed to win when they just keep slamming damage in the face when I don't even have enough mana or the right cards to control the board!).
And whenever I decide I had enough and switch playing aggro I just get steamrolled by some shitty big spell mage, druid or even Warlock with perfect draws!!
I just hate how disgustingly random the meta is, it's like playing a rock-paper-scissors game FFS! Pick your deck, and if you're lucky you'll just skyrocket on the ladder, that's all it takes right now!
Thanks for the feedback guys. It's just a shame it just doesn't quite work, because Blizzard seems to be trying to push the archetype quite a bit, yet it's always just "semi-playable" , maybe if we had bulkier murlocs in future expansions we could actually make a control or midrange murloc shaman work.
Well yeah I guess some aggros out there could out-rush the deck playing faster and putting better threats on the board. But maybe adding some control cards could help? Like idk healing rain for sustain?
I like the Shudderwock idea it could work in a more control-midrangey variant, but it seems a bit slow in general, you might want to finish the game earlier than turn 9

Hey guy, I'm going to play this friday on my very first tournament with 3 decks, ban 1 conquest format.
I've got cards for most commonly used decks, I was thinking about bringing the following decks:
- Spell Hunter OR Secret Hunter (or anything that could counter heavy control? Shudderwock maybe?)
- Cubelock or some other Control oriented deck (Big Mage or Big Druid could also be an option)
- Odd Rogue or Odd Paladin (Or maybe Zoolock if I'm not bringing Cubelock)
I was thinking of banning druid, cause MalyDruid or Togwaggle Druid seems a pain to deal with if the games go on long.
I'm sorry if I don't seem to have a very clear idea of the lineup, but that's why I'm asking for advice in the first place.
So, which lineup would you suggest to run, and what should I be banning in your opinion?

So my question to the community is, since I'm mainly facing:
- Hunters (Smorc, Egg, Recruit)
- Mage (Mainly Big spell)
- Warlock (Zoo & Even)
What would be the best kind of deck to play against these classes?
I forgot to mention that I have most of the commonly used meta decks, except for Shudderwock (& Murloc/Ele Mage if that counts)

Hi guys,
I would really like to make quest Shaman work on ladder, do you think it could be viable or would it just get stomped badly?
I made a list here just to give an idea of what it could look like, any suggestions are welcome!

I think it's a good card per se, but I fell like it will quite underperform in the meta because of cards like Defile and Hellfire
