Seems to me the real issue here is the game is not easy enough for some folks and until it is justice demands retribution.  /endthread

No no, not flying off the handle, categorically not. I could say the same about your post if I had the inclination, reading it aloud in the voice of a squealing, mewing brat or some other shrill comedy character, I could make all sorts of inferences. Probably not even necessary given your over-use of emotive words and phrases - entitled, squealing, childish. I'll pay you the courtesy of not doing that. Like I say, he didn't seem that good of a player, and yes I'm using my skill as a rank 11, same rank as him, as the benchmark for this judgement. The game was down to the wire despite his uberdeck. OK there's luck in the draw and skill in the construction and whatnot but it it helps a lot if all your draws are likely as not to be premium. On reflection it does sound a bit whiney doesn't it? Maybe it is.

It sounds more whiny than responsible, that's all.  If you lose, you have to find a way to get better.  That's the challenge.  By the way, I like my emotive words, they explain my point a little better.

posted a message on Srly this Tirion Fordring must be tune down a little bit

I'm thinking there's an allusion to discussions having little constructive value.

If you're having legendary problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but Tirion ain't one, hit me: spell breaker, silence, black knight, that one 2/1 owl, assassinate, hex, mind control, shadowstep, kidnapper, shadow world:death, perhaps an execute, brawl, tinkmaster overspark, a leeroy jenkins play, mind control tech, faceless manipulator, sylvanas, warlock 6 mana minion kill spell, naturalize, equality, fireball....

But the 5/3 weapon?!?!  Force your opp to use it on targets of your choosing rather than his.  Drop a sacrificial minion on the board to get cleaved in half or feign weakness to lure the dude into your face if you can stand it and leeroy him in the mouth afterwards.  If you can dictate its usage to your advantage, profit.  Or you can just drop that Ooze or Harrison Jones (lol) on the board while taking a sip of that bourbon while feeling like a boss.

There's a little bit out there that lets you work around him, steal him, or take him out.  This applies to every other card in the game, though mileage may vary.

Any of the disconnected check to see if HS was okay on your firewalls and such?  Perhaps try a session running it as admin?  I alternate between a wireless laptop on my porch and a desktop in my office and have yet to see a disconnect.  Though I do an opponent dc occasionally.

posted a message on [LONG POST] Problems and Solutions, Current State of the Game

What a nice write up, though I feel there's an overarching theme that can be summarized as "make the game easier".  I'm not perfect and could most definitely be wrong.  Also, please don't assume I'm trashing your post.  You've written out your opinion well enough to share it.  Not many folks will admit they value such an effort, but any chance to gain some perspective is appreciated in my book.  So, rock on dude.

For Legendary cards, I can't help but notice you mentioned, "Legendary cards should have extreme niches in order for the player to have meet rare circumstances in which the legendary card in question would be useful."  What Legendary doesn't fit this criteria currently?  You already gave the example of Bloodmage.  How about Ragnaros?  He costs 8 mana, can't attack, and does 8 damage to a random enemy target at the end of your turn.  That seems fairly circumstantial, especially after you toss in silence effects, insta-gib cards like assassinate and hex, or big game hunter.  The cards are powerful, yes, but they have their drawbacks as well.  I'm not sure about you or anyone else, but when that late game stretch starts up I always assume the ballers will start hitting the table and strategize accordingly.

Obtaining cards costs time, money, or a combination of both.   I'll admit there's always room for improvement, but to call it grindy feels silly and childish.  There's a purchase option available, if the cards are too easy to 'grind' then no one would purchase anything.  Arena is a great idea and I'm glad its there.  Ten gold for 3 wins is pocket change on top of the daily objectives.  We're still in the dark about the adventure features they're batting around also.  I personally think the crafting system is legitimate and a great alternative to trading.  I can't believe I'm about to say it, but I feel comfortable giving Blizzard some time to flesh this out in a manner that still beneficial to them as well as us.

As for views on the competitive nature, reading this only jabs the knife deeper into the wound and wiggles it around violently.  There is absolutely no reason to Candy Land any of the matchmaking features in this game.  Though I'll admit there needs to be a Candy Land league of some sort to motivate folks who can't handle the pressure or anxiety of competing.  I'm sure it's abrasive to read, but I like the idea that the higher I go the more difficult it gets.  I don't want the system or my mommy to show up and hold my hand and sprinkle the battle so I can feel better if I lose.  If I lose I assess why, regroup, and get back in the fight - a concept that seems to be losing traction these days.  Did I lose to the legendary because its OP or because I couldn't handle it.  That is the challenge.

Restructuring the format though would be interesting though, I agree.  It can match the Starcraft 2 ladder maybe with a bronze through master league, though the naming can be changed around or leagues combined.  This would be cosmetic, but could address the anxiety mentioned.  Smaller leagues to visualize progression perhaps?  There are other ways to motivate players out there.

Personally the only thing that bothers me is the card pool, it feels kind of shallow.  I look forward to the first expansion.  I'm also excited for the Open Beta.  I feel the new blood might bring interesting things to the table if we're lucky.

Absolutely pay to win. The more you pay, the better cards you get, ergo you can beat a player of greater skill who happens to have lesser cards. A big paid advantage if you want to be kinder about it. I've hit a bit of a roadblock myself at level 11, just can't seem to get that last star to push me to 10. The amount of legendary-packed decks is crazy. They're not bad decks, just decks with game changing cards. And they don't have to be legendary ofc, just played a paladin with 2x sword of justice, 2x equality, 2x avenging wrath, 2x lay on hands, a Sylvanas, and a Tirion, and probably more that I've forgotten. Would've won easily but for the fact that this guy came into it with a huge card advantage, which he'd certainly "paid" for (it was a close game I don't think he was an arena hero), "to win" the game.

This comment seems motivated by an emotional state after a loss.  The reality is you have no idea how that individual got the cards they have in their deck.  Through one game you're assuming they are not an 'arena hero' by using your own skill as the basis, at rank 11.  A lot of flying off the handle here.

The game can be considered pay to win, but not in the sense a lot of the misguided entitled folks seem to be squealing about here.  You play with time, money, or both. You paid for your cards just like everyone else did, with one or the other.  We can also call it pay to lose if we'd like too.  Both sound equally childish.
