I thought it was a guaranteed legendary in the first 10 packs of a new expansion and the bundle includes 10 golden whizbang packs so... open them first???

Nope, you get a guaranteed legendary in your first 10 golden Whizbang packs and in your first 10 normal Whizbang packs.

and if we take a look at MSG we see this pattern

That is not what a pattern is, this error undermines your entire argument.
A pattern needs multiple examples otherwise by definition it is a single event and not a pattern
You are right, pattern is the wrong term. What I meant is that they released very strong stuff the end of year expansion and kept it strong for a very long time encouraging players to buy packs/craft cards that are in standard for the shortest time possible. We shall see if we can call it a pattern soon.

Nope, man. From a selling point of view this is a terrible idea. The marginal profit they would make compared to people buying ordinary packs and accumulating dust for crafting/golden cards,  would be significantly lower.
As a result, I don't see this happening. I love Blizzard, but finance-wise they aren't ones to step down from a profit for the sake of the users (as any company would)
The price of the packs would determine, if it was a terrible idea for blizz, but that's just a i side note ;)
Regarding the part of the quote that I bolded:
In League of Legends there was a currency named Influence points (IP). You could use it to buy champions to play with them and runes, which gave stat buffs. These runes ate a huge amount of IP and it was quite a task to get runes and champions as a new player. This week there was an update which turned IP into Blue Essence (BE) at a 1:1 ratio, removed purchasable runes and awarded players who had runes with extra BE. Result is: Players no longer need to buy runes and can use their BE to complete their champion collection, which will most likely result in riot selling less champions for Riot Point (premium currency you can purchase with money). That said: Not every company is like blizzard ;)

posted a message on I expect the strongest expansion of the year

Hey guys, we have not seen mana cards of KAC yet, but I expect the cards/mechanics to be very strong.

Reasons are pretty simple: it's the expansion that will stay in standard for the shortest time and if we take a look at MSG we see this pattern. Patches/Jade/highlander have been very present, you might as well say dominant, since release and nerfs/releasing counter cards both took much (if there were any at all) and were not as drastic as it is team 5's usual policy.

What are your expectations regarding power level of next expansion?

If you had a decent collection before you quit, you might do ok in wild.  Unfortunately the MSG expansion dominates the meta right now, but will rotate out of standard in five months at which time you may catch up in standard.

Have to agree. But also consider that your wild collection will have a big hole, if you skip MSG completely. The buff to highlander decks, jade mechanic and patches are things you will probably miss if you decide to play wild regularly.

Quote from Velrun >>

Does the game really have a problem?

Your answer to that question must be the opposite if your answer to this question:

Do you still play the game?

So your options are:

A: Yes the game has a problem. No I do not still play the game.

B: No the game does not have a problem. Yes I still play the game.

The world isn't black and white only...
There can be problems without making sth totally unusable. When one back light of a car doesn't work there is a problem with the car, yet ppl will still drive with it. When you habe headache, you habe a problem, yet you are still living.

Expansion hitting soon, expect heroic brawl, huge gold/money sink

But regarding your question: imo they can add them. They should get their own pity timer though. I wouldn't buy them anyways.

If you are using an android device you can just download the apk file and install it without playstore. Might take a day until the file is up, but usually you can find it quite fast. Just google it and obviously consider the risks before doing so.

Quote from OoklaTheMok >>

Or maybe Blizzard is creating a mode for players that don't need to be rewarded, except for the thrill of solving the various puzzles.

So for you every player who would play that mode without any reward must not be rewarded? Srsly there's almost no rewarded in constructed and ppl still play it. That does not mean they don't like the little rewards they get...

posted a message on Do you like reducing class uniqueness by giving each class a weapon?

Hey guys, I wonder if it's just me, but I feel like Blizz goes a wrong way with giving all classes a weapon, even if it's just 1. There are certain things that go through my mind when I start building a deck or when a game starts and I see my opponent's class.

One of these thoughts is if I will have to deal with weapons. Obv there are neutral cards that generate weapons, but there's a diffrence. I liked that availability of weapons were class defining. What's next? Every class gets a Legendary secret?

When they do stuff like this phrases like 'We reduced number of neutral Legedararies in expansion, because classes did not feel unique enough' just feel like a pretext for not having to admit, that they just want ppl to spent more money to get all the good Legendaries.

Does it break the game? Hell no, but that's not the question ;)

posted a message on To reduce the barriers of entry for new players should Blizzard make all common/rare Classic set cards free to all players?

Imo hs community is jealous as fuck, so if blizz chose sth like make all classic common and rares free, there would be a massive shitstorm.

So to avoid that Blizz would have to give old players full dust refund for each up to two copies of each classic common/rare they own:

182*40 dust + 160*100 dust = 23280 dust

Should they do this? HELL YEAH! Will they do this? HELL NO!

Due to the fact that i´m a collector and spent way to much money on heartstone i have 7.000 dust floating and 56K on the button. In two and a half years i never clicked the button (like Kripp). The dream is a full collection, but this is never going to happen...

I'm basically like you, but I don't care about goldens :D 10k dust, 62k in dupes and 32k when I de goldens that I have normal copies of. I try to avoid crafting cards whenever I can, because I really hate getting a dupe that I crafted. But thanks to Legendary drop change I actually crafted a few Legendaries that I really wanted last month :)
PS: already looking forward to de my golden Warleader when the nerf hits :D

posted a message on Golden pack soon !
Quote from NightCrawl3r >>

If you scroll down in the redemption page, you can read

Twitch Prime and Blizzard are teaming up to bring Twitch Prime members a free Golden Classic Card Pack, two new card backs, and more starting on September 11th!

That's probably what the "special" card pack is, a classic pack that drops all gold cards

Golden classic Pack could still just be the name. Maybe golden pack is their name for legendary lootbox in Hearthstone.
But let's compare the value of these variants
Guaranteed legendary
Quite hard to determine the exact dust value, because the legendary will prolly replace the rare or better card. But we know the minimum value: 1620 dust for a collector who misses classic mercenaries and 420 for anyone else.
All cards golden
Minimum value is 300 dust, but in this case we can also calculate the avg value. According to pitytracker.com a pack contains 3.58 commons, 1.14 rates, 0.22 epics and 0.05 Legendaries on avg. So the avg value would be 3.58*50+1.14*100+0.22*400+0.05*1600=461 dust

Tbh, I couldn't care less about this event. I got the cardback, singular because it's only one cardback. They just changed the color and turned it, imo that's quite boring
