Personally I really admire the Forbidden Flame. There were times where it is really useful, but that only makes up 10% of the games i play. The Lich King is a really great card in this deck, but I switched it out for Medivh because of the 10 mana Kazakus potion and Flamestrike. Alexstrasza is a very strong card for mage, but again I was going for more of a ramp so I rather have a 7,8,9 rather than a 7,8,8,9 mana ramp. This deck list is mainly for my own use and how I play, you can switch out some cards you do not seem fit. 

Thank you, I was running through ladder again and I replaced a few cards such as Flame Geyser and Cairne Bloodhoof for more later game such as Medivh and a Flamestrike. I really hope my updating on this deck makes it more playable for first timers and since Mage didn't get hit by the nerfs I think she could rise to Tier 2 maybe even Tier 1. Thank you for you positive input :D

Edit: I replaced the Firefly for a Tar Creeper and I pushed a lot of the early/mid game to mid/late game.

Hey! Very fun deck to play, went from like rank 8 to 5 (for that golden epic) in couple hours https://imgur.com/a/bBs9t. Coud probably hit legend if I had more time xD. ALso made some changes: -pyros +syndragosa (mainly cause I don't have pyros and most pros also say that he isn't that good), -flame geyser +frost nova (works well with doomsayer, also very good to stall until your big board clears), -forbidden flame +meteor (personally I had problems vs. aggro decks and meteor certainly helps more than forbidden flame, it's also just as good vs. control). Cheers :p

Since you're running Flame Geyser and Fire Fly, I would recommend going all the way and making this an elemental mage with Baron Geddon, Servant of Kalimos and Tar Creeper, perhaps replacing Cairne Bloodhoof, who really has no place in this deck, Forbidden Flame, or Mirror Entity. This deck has a lot of potential.
