Contrary to common opinion, I thought the secret pally meta was the best. It truly wasn't just secret pally, so many decks easily destroyed the deck that the meta was fairly balanced. IMHO nothing will be more cancer than 4 mana 7/7 shaman and pirate warrior. I feel the only reason it could be considered decent is because it is vastly better than the gadgetzan cancer meta.
Going to be honest here, but most of the time one can only get so far in the ranking system. If you copy a "Top 1 Legend deck" and you are a rank 18 player, then you will only be able to maybe get to rank 16. If you are having trouble ranking up then i would suggest asking someone to help improve your gameplay.
The balance on these is WAY off and some of them don't really feel "Legendary".
The Warlock one is literally awful; it's ridiculously overcosted and probably wouldn't be played even if it cost 0 since it essentially does nothing.
The Warrior one on the other hand is RIDICULOUS and game-breaking, even ignoring the fact that it goes against Blizzard's recent thoughts on cards which give Charge.
The Rogue one is WAY over-costed too, at the very least it should return ALL their minions and only cost 7 or 8 but even then, it's not a Legendary effect.
The Mage one is cool but surely it should be Druid's, manipulating Mana Crystals is their thing.
Lightning Shield is pretty cool, this is the one that feels most "Legendary" to me although the text could be cleaned up.
Haha the Warrior one SUCKS. It essential reads: 8 Mana, Do nothing
My card "Acolyte of the Depths" made it too, but i didn't have an account at the time. I'd never post it to any competition due to the lack of evidence that I made it other than some history from June 19.
Like most people, I am Spike/Johny. Winning is fun, but I do like to win in a stylish way, if possible. If not, I'll just take the win. I'm also not salty when I lose against any type of deck. I usually concede fast, give my opponent a "well played" and I move on.
The Rosewater psychographics are pretty useless because of this. I don't know how you could possibly read that article and walk away thinking either "I'm a Timmy" or "I'm not a Johnny."
I don't exactly have pet names for these, but here are my top three psychographics:
Finds joy in piloting decks well. Tends to netdeck; high meta awareness and compliance. Competitive. Tends to play a lot, and enjoys it for its own sake. Hates it when random effects radically steer the outcome of a game. Tends to prefer Arena after discovering the HearthArena website - which they use like a crutch - and prefer Ranked otherwise.
Finds joy in building decks well. Competitive... in the forums, anyway. Tends to dismiss piloting as pure luck, not skill; redefines "skill" as not running cards he hates. Usually high meta awareness, but usually not fully compliant; tends towards Tier 2 and Tier 3 archetypes. Often spends more time theorycrafting than actually playing; actual games often feel like tedious "proof of concept" that deck actually works as predicted. Tends to prefer Ranked; enjoys the drafting part of Arena, but it's all downhill from there.
Finds joy in having the best stories or witnessing the best moments. Not competitive. Tends to watch YouTube or Twitch first, then play once out of content. Loves big numbers, self-imposed limitations or crazy RNG; praises Yogg. Roots for the underdog. Tends to prefer Tavern Brawl and solo Adventures; either got above 100 damage in the recent Storming Stormwind Brawl, or watched someone else do it.
I totally see where you are coming from. These ARE types of MTG players, but I think they fit into Hearthstone well, too. I'm going to convert each of the player types that you described to Rosewater's.
1. What you describe here is a total Spike. The mention of HearthArena is something really only a Spike would do, use something to try to increase their winrate.
2. Sounds like a Spike-Johnny, Spikes tend to hate when they lose to unskilled players and RNG. The Johnny part is the "tends towards Tier 2 and Tier 3 archetypes". A Johnny likes to win, but they want to do it with decks they have fun with. Tier 2 and Tier 3 decks aren't always going to get you rank one legend, but they are mostly just fun.
3. Johnny. Johnnies love Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, (actually Spikes like it too because it is actually a very competitive card). Tavern Brawl is a total Johnny format and solo adventures allow interesting deck building challenges.
Your three types of players are just Rosewater's put in a Hearthstone example.
How is Yogg-Saron, Hope's End a Johnny card? It's a clear Timmy card. And n. 3 is Timmy-Johnny.

currently rank 1 from 3 with elise dragon priest. It hoses mage and wins every long game. Because you dont see much pirate, it is really good.

This card is a direct copy of one of the top rated cards on Hearthcards. Your user name is Boethion and the person who made it is named Lurios.
1. Click on "Best of All Time"
2. (Card should be under the top left card)
3. Look at the blatant ripoff
