posted a message on Anyone pre-ordering the bundles?

I always wait until seeing the full set before purchasing. Typically it'll be a couple days before the deadline.

I'll most likely get the $50, but if the set looks amazing miiight consider the $80

posted a message on HS is losing it's players big time

Yes, Hearthstone saw a decline in back half of 2018, but where is all this doomsaying coming from lol. They are by far the largest digital card game and are nowhere near dying. It's funny how people always bring up these posts during the typical lull between expansions. If Hearthstone is still below rank #20 on twitch the month after the rotation then maybe be a tiny bit concerned. If they post a huge loss after their quarterly reports then feel a bit more concerned. But really, who are you concerned for? Blizzard profits? If the game is still bringing new content why does everyone care so much??

posted a message on Is Blizzard Getting too Trigger Happy with Nerfs?

Really happy with the more frequent nerfs. Pirate Warrior, aggro shaman, jade shaman, jade druid, hunter undertaker and secret paladin were all around for way too long. More frequent changes keeps things fresh and allows for new decks to pop up, which is very important after a new set releases.

Note: You are going to get a bit of skewed feedback from any message board as the people posting are most likely a bit more invested (time and money) than your average Hearthstone player.

posted a message on A fix for Standard - thoughts?

Standard should be base + 4 expansions. That way some sets don't get longer time in the format than others and it keeps things fresh. Each expansion that comes out has a big impact as another rolls out.

posted a message on Blizzard's Off-Meta Deck Spotlight - September 2018 [Warrior, Rogue, Priest]

That priest deck is fun! Currently 6-1, taking me from rank 5 to 4. Obviously a ton of caveats as people play random decks at rank 5 at the beginning of the season, but still!

posted a message on What's Your Favorite Card of Witchwood So Far?

I really like Hunting Mastiff and Squashling. It's just a lot of fun using Hunting Mastiff to clear boards, build boards and combo fun cards like Stampede. Same for Squashling - healing 10 health, mixing in healing for card draw and comboing with Auchenai Soulpriest. Lots of fun so far!

posted a message on Anyone experimenting with Quest Warlock or Paladin again?

I don't have Lynessa, but I did revisit quest paladin just because of potion of heroism and that card has helped a lot.

Voraxx is pretty important to give you another win condition. I imagine Lynessa will be similar. I just need to see if she is worth it or not.

posted a message on The real reason you are seeing the same old decks as before...

Part of the reason is that sets rotate only once a year instead of with every set. The second and third sets in a year are usually an incremental boost to existing decks unless they are very powerful. Dominant decks from previous sets will most likely continue to see play as more players collect all of the cards to complete that deck and get more comfortable with it.

Also, the last set of the year is only available in standard for about 16 months while the first set of the year is available for 50% longer at 24 months.

Even if the first set of the year is lacking, you'll probably still see a lot of new decks since players will be forced to delete most of their current standard decks. More players may also be willing to pay for the set to get the most bang for their buck (at least in standard). I'm not sure if there is any data to back that last part up, but is something my friends and I definitely consider.

    Quote from Kaladin >>

Deck Builders: I fall into this category.  I feel like there a lot of really interesting cards that aren't obvious in how they are strong but ask you to build a deck in a certain way.  And I love experimenting.  Even the memes feel like they are somewhat playable, if done right.

I also really enjoy deck building and I agree that there are a lot of cool interactions that aren't readily apparent. Even if they don't work out, a lot of these cards have me really thinking about alternative ways they can be used. Recruit cards give you a lot of freedom to tailor the deck without providing clear guidelines (which is different from something like jade, elemental, dragon priest where the decks build themselves for the most part).

posted a message on Your answer to Jade Druid?

I'm just climbed from 15 to 8, so not to your meta yet, but handbuff paladin has worked really well for me. 7-1 so far against Druids. Brian Kibler used a 2-drop prince version to climb to legend with a strong winrate as well.

posted a message on How much have you spent in Hearthstone?

$250 in the almost 4 years I have been playing. $150 was in the first year, so just $100 over the subsequent 3 years.

Regardless if it is good or not (probably not), I still think it is an interesting card that could be fun to build around.
