Any deck except warrior can just win with flappy bird. It’s annoying and basically just constantly restarting for the best RNG, but it works. Just restart until he’s in your mulligan, then have him stick, then roll windfury and +3 attack and lich King should be dead before frostmourne.
I like them they way they are now, but I think it’d be cool if they were battlecries but WAY more powerful. Gen could be a battlecry that made your hero power 0, Baku could give super upgraded hero powers(3 silver hand men, 5 armor, 3/2 dagger, etc.)
I’ve only been playing since KNC but every rogue deck has always used cold blood, every non-Odd Paladin ran equality and every hunter had hunters mark. All of the nerfs seemed to make sense to me except maybe flametongue.
Spell stone either costing 2 secrets or spell stone summoning 1 less wolf per level is my guess. The other tier 1 decks that exist right now are tier 1 because they either deal with spellstone(priest) or end the game before it happens(Paladin, odd rogue to a lesser extent.)
Rexxar is good but I don’t think he’s broken good. He gives control decks a rough time but not as bad as a lot of other decks in the current meta(OTK Paladin, Mechathun Lock, Priest). Plus from a gameplay perspective it’s kinda cool having a 3 phase fight.
If it’s the masters call version I would say no. The entire deck is built around that card, 3 mana draw 3 minions is pretty much the entire reason that deck exists and is viable.
I personally liked druids identity as the ramp up and do big stuff class. Ramp up, cast UI, and then the game really starts. The problem was that they eliminated all the weaknesses that come with that archetype. Spell stone, huge armor gain and spreading plague completely blocked out druids original weakness which was go wide and pressure them. They went from “Try and survive while you ramp up and then pull the trigger” to “Become invincible, ramp, become even more invincible.” They could have nuked spreading plague and branching paths and maybe even UI like a lot of people were asking for but instead the deleted the entire classes identity.
The worst part though is they just turned druids into priests. Druids most core classic cards just got deleted and now druids are going to rely VERY HEAVILY on cards released in new sets. There’s a good chance druids will now be much less safe crafts because their classic core set just got eliminated.
I really think buffs would be better than nerfs. I enjoy higher power gameplay, it feels much more intense. It’d be way cooler imo if every class had stupidly OP stuff because then nothing is OP, just intense. Maybe it’s just a play style preference but to me I like it way more when each player can do something extremely strong turn after turn, rather than the very slow gameplay we have right now.
Everyone is trashing Odd rogue and Heal Zoo which both require a good amount of decision making and planning ahead(odd rogue especially requires thinking 2-3 moves ahead all the time) but I don’t see much about Baku Hunter. Your gameplan is literally vomit your hand and once your opponent stabilizes the board, finish them off with the holy button.
Ever since WW released, tempo mage has been a Tier 2-3 deck that only saw play when Quest Rogue or Even Lock got too popular so that it could prey on them.
That’s how bad the matchup is. The main thing is don’t tap after turn 2 and if they play their 2 drop mana wyrm then don’t tap at all. It’s a pretty rough matchup because you’re basically in top deck mode. You really only tap if you’ll die without an out.
If they touched hunter I think everything would have been perfect. Yeah the hunter class rotates in a few months but it’d be cool to see something besides hunters.
I don’t think it diversified the meta very much YET. It nerfed the things that killed hunters, now the meta will evolve into new ways to kill hunters.

This card is just waiting to be meta defining.

Might depend on the definition of impactful. Baku and Gen created the most diverse and polarizing metas in the history of the game.

Defile tops my list. At least we still have Godfrey.

I feel like team 5 probably tested this when they were designing Baku and gen.

Yeah he gets full dust value for the Saronite Chain Gangs he crafted, but not for shudderwock.
