I mostly agree with you. Though, when it comes to your card, it was broken. Give one of said 1/1 minions taunt and you'd need some very hard removal to get through that. It just doesn't seem fair.
That is incorrect: a character with Immune cannot have Taunt. The Tavern Brawl that gave your hero Taunt (combined with Malganis or Ice Block) proved it.
I'm not a fan of the finalists this time around. My entry was a pet vendor from WoW, which I thought was a good excuse for her to interact with 1/1 weenies, and I would have liked to have seen more cards of that sort.
In my opinion, cards are good and/or well-designed when they fit a niche role in a deck...
Your card does not have a role in any deck, because if you put it in your deck it's a vanilla 1/1 for 1. The only time it would ever see play is when Discovered, and that just means that it spoils the best thing about Discover: that Discover is fair RNG.
It would be an okay Brawl if it wasn't so damn slow. It's very hard to push lethal through because of how easy it is to find an answer for your opponent's minions, so games just drag on and on.
There are only 14 minions below Epic rarity that are even playable in this Brawl. That should have been a clear warning sign to Blizzard that they were doing something stupid.
The Tavern Brawl I want to see is one where you build a deck of 15 cards, your opponent builds a deck of 15 cards, and then you each get a deck of copies of all 30 cards. No more pay to win: every Epic and Legendary your opponent puts in their deck, you get too.

Heroic Silverware Golem for me. Not in an interesting way, mind you, just bullshit card after bullshit card, backed up by a ton of armour gain.

This Tavern Brawl is mostly tedious, but I did enjoy casting Sabotage to destroy Ashbringer and Deathwing at the same time.
Naturally, my opponent immediately conceded.

I'm two for two so far: once with a Zooish Hunter deck versus Warlock, once with Taunt Warrior versus a Priest.

It's the one I've been waiting for, the one that possibly inspired Tavern Brawl's creation in the first place: Challengestone 1.

I voted for Murky the Murloc and Blindlight Oracle. I hope that Blindlight Oracle wins, because it's interesting, fair, and supports two archetypes.

Send a murloc to kill a murloc.

After rushing to tier 3 hero power, my first five Legendaries as Rafaam last game:
Justicar Trueheart
Wilfred Fizzlebang
Jaraxxus
Sir Finley Murrgleton
Majordomo Executus
Notice a theme? -_-

I played two games, one with each boss, and won both.
The second game I was lucky enough to get a fully charged staff and a Coldarra Drake, which meant lots and lots of cheap Legendaries.
