Not trying to be an ass, but people say this every time one of these Brawls coincides with an upcoming release. You DON'T have to play the Brawl more than once. I'm going to play one time (probably get destroyed) and take my rewards and not spend any more gold on it. It's entirely up to each person whether or not they want to spend their gold on this.
With that said, it is "interesting" how these spend-gold tavern brawls show up quite often right before expansion releases ; )

Thanks for giving it a shot! I agree that a major problem with the build is that it's a little slow without the right tools to sustain itself for very long. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any real way this deck can be as balanced a hybrid as I'd like it to be and actually be viable, which is really why I am in no way promoting this as a good laddering deck. Your suggestions for changes do sound about right though, so I'll give them a try too. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the great feedback!
I find that Shadowstep allows not only for reuse of good battlecries, but also allows Rogue to trade comfortably with cards that have good battlecries to have a powerful effect on the board. The obvious choices for turns like this include the Shadowcasters, The Vilespine Slayers, the Servants of Kalimos, and, best of all, the Blazecaller. However, even weaker cards like Fire Plume Phoenix and Jade Spirit can have really profitable trades into Shadowstep replays. Of course, the chance that you'll actually find yourself in the position to make a play like this is relatively low, but I don't think it's entirely without merit to have Shadowstep in the deck and extend the value of your battlecry minions.
Your recommendations are pretty interesting though, so I'll test them when I get some time to play again.

I think that N'Zoth is an obvious choice for a jade rogue that focuses entirely on deathrattles, but that's not really the direction in which this deck is going. N'Zoth could potentially be an awful draw and a dead turn 10 play if you aren't able to get multiple Ayas and jade swarmers going before he gets drawn. There are other jade rogue builds on here which really go all out with deathrattles and N'Zoth, but I don't really think he fits in this deck.

Shadowcaster is pretty important in this deck in order to get more value out of your minions and make strong plays in the late game, but you could certainly play this deck without it. If you want to make use of bounce mechanics, you could try Youthful Brewmaster or Gadgetzan Ferryman.

Maybe you could try a cheap bounce minion like Youthful Brewmaster or Gadgetzan Ferryman in order to get a similar use out of them. I suppose you could use Ancient Brewmaster for a comparable body, but it has a high cost and is therefore not conducive to single turn plays.
