Don't think it is viable.
Polymorph is way better at countering high HP cards like Ysera or cards with deathrattle like Sneed's Old Shredder.The sheep is almost always killed by hero ability.
And Big Game Hunter is way better at countering Giants or Ragnaros the Firelord.
Fireball is just 2 dmg less, costs 1 Mana less and can go face.
Between those three, I don't see why you would ever run a Lance in your deck. IF the lance WOULD have a silence included - similar to Earth Shock then it would be good and probably OP. But currently this card seems useless.

I kinda expected this guy to have an Inspire: Deal 1 dmg instead of a battlecry. Like the hero power version to Knife Juggler. That would have been big.
Not a bad anti aggro card now. But probably not strong enough to have a relevant impact.

I use him in my dragon deck currently but must say I am not completely happy with him. Has to do with which Legendaries he regularly faces.
Against Ragnaros the Firelord, Dr. Boom, Mal'Ganis and many others I could also use a BGH. That would work out cheaper and be more reliable due to the dragon holding restriction of Rend.
Against Sylvanas Windrunner you can't use Rend without silencing her first, often there are better ways to deal with her.
He often works as an immediate answer to Emperor Thaurissan and is also good against Loatheb as you can't use spells. Sadly those two cost less mana than Rend does, which means at times you can't play him because of Mana restriction. He is also good vs Tirion Fordring but immediately dies to the sword.
So as such there are two Legendaries which he removes very efficiently: Archmage Antonidas and Ysera. You see those regularly, but not suuuper often.
So he often gets value, but most of the time a BGH would have done the job as well. Playing Rend without the battlecry is pretty sad as he dies too easily. So he is not the "upgrade" to BGH I hoped he would be. Of course if the meta changes, this might change big time.

Well nice that Blizz is bringing out anti-aggro cards. But 1 dmg is really suboptimal :/ Personally I would be more happy with a 2/6.
Inner Fire would be big but also a BHG target. Sacred Warrior would benefit from this guy, as directly 2 characters are healed.

Quartermaster will see A LOT more play when the new expansion hits. Silver Hand Regent, Justicar Trueheart and Garrison Commander will probably work well with 2 Quartermasters in many decks.
The dependency on Muster for Battle would be reduced lots.

Surprised to see that it applies to all classes. Ragnaros, Hunter and also Warlock ability deals 3 damage.

Guess Poisoned Blade is gonna be a thing if rogues anyway have to hero power just to trigger the inspire effects.
