I've been playing Druid lately and I find myself often in the situation that I have multiple ways to ramp and don't know the correct way. Here's an example:
So the possible plays are:
- Innervate, Coin, Violet Teacher. This play is countered with Abusive, but it brings out the Violet Teacher as soon as possible. Turn two is probably Wild Growth.
- Coin, Wild Growth. This way next turn will probably be Innervate, Violet Teacher, Raven Idol. This play guarantees a 1/1, but the Violet Teacher will certainly die and the 1/1 might not do anything.
- Coin, Innervate, Wild Growth, Wild Growth. Next turn will be Violet Teacher. The good thing about this play is getting the Wild Growths out as early as possible so the next turn could be Azure Drake, or Raven Idol something fitting.
- Raven Idol (for a spell). The problem with this play is that there is no good play next turn and it is pretty slow against Zoo.
What I ended up doing:
I did the first play, and he had Abusive. He took the board and beat me down, but on turn 6 I topdecked Innervate with Yogg in hand, and he won me the game.
Sure, it's more difficult to reach legend with a more difficult deck, or with a deck that is bad in the current meta, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you reached the top of the ladder while 75% of the people hang out between rank 25 and rank 15.
Furthermore, I think people underestimate the skill necassary to reach legend with say face hunter or shaman. You still have to mulligan correctly and play different versus aggro and control and calculate if you should control the board a bit or go for the race. There are still many ways to play these deck badly, and doing so will have a large impact on your winrate.
So you play Yogg-Saron, draw cards deeper into fatigue and destroy the board with DOOM!, and then proceed to discard your hand with Astral Communion. You know what? I'll pass on that and guess that this won't see competitive play, but we'll see.
So I just played Rafaam against a mage at ~8 wins in arena. In the next turns I flooded the board, because he couldn't flamestrike, because of Mirror of Doom. When he was low he decided to flamestrike anyway, and then lost to Lantern of Power.
I love Rafaam, and I hope we'll see more of him in Standard.
I like to play fun decks like Kitkatz's Patragons (Patrons + Dragons), Homebrew Reno Mage or Bran Grinder Mage until rank 5 or so, then I play a good deck to reach legend. Doesn't really make the grind 'less fun', just more of a challenge.
You could try watching Youtube-video's of arena runs. Trumps 'Trump Cards' series is pretty good. Make sure you really think about what to do while watching the video and why.

However, cubelock isn't really silencable since each voidlord can come back up to two times and cubes can be dark pacted...

No matter the amount of 'easy' decks, getting to legend is still an achievement: http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/15955974/hearthside-chat-youre-better-than-you-think-9-18-2014.

I wonder how this would interact with Sorcerer's Apprentice.

In the flavor text of 'Seal of Light' it says that the Walrus of Light would heal for 8! Now it's only 7! I feel cheated.

Second game in arena, as a priest versus paladin.
Turn 6: Sylvanas. Turn 8: Tirion
He won the game but not before he tried to humility my lightspawn.

9 damage: Cost reduction never applies with Holy Wrath; look at Molten Giant.
