The meta is a nice mix between aggro and control decks. I actually think it's in a much better spot than previous metas that were all aggro all face all day.
Meh, I don't think that it, as a singular archetype, is toxic. I do think meta's as a whole are a bit toxic and restrictive to creativity and individual design, but that's a people problem not a hearthstone problem.
Now I'm even more curious about what sort of algorithm they used to determine who got free stars and who didn't, since it seems it wasn't only Legend players who benefited. I'm thinking possibly number of games played last month had to hit a certain threshold, but even that seems off.
I think it's more likely that it was just random and they had no idea how to fix it and just decided to roll with it instead of keeping it down for another day+.
That makes the most sense actually. Even so I'm curious how the bug itself worked and how it determined who gets what. I'll just leave it be and not poke the bear though.

First, It's casual so it could easily be people trying out decks they just crafted, even if those decks are netdecks.
Second, Off meta stuff can work amazingly well considering the meta itself is designed to counter the meta. I've had my ass handed to me by off meta decks like enrage warrior or jade/evolve shaman. People don't expect those decks so they don't design against them.
Third, No one likes a braggart. Take your easy wins in casual (lol filthy casual) and move along.
I do exactly the opposite. Golden cards are just window dressing for me so I DE my golden copies for that sweet, sweet dust and keep my regulars. If you are going for full golden then yes, I would DE your regular versions when you get 2 copies of the goldens.
Meta salt thread disguised as a ladder changes thread. Nothing to see here folks.
Thats not helpful to the discussion. Dont like it, dont read it.
As neither was your reply to me. Don't like it, don't quote me.
They won't implement a "Face different classes every time" change because if the meta is mostly 1 or 2 classes the queue times would be ridiculous. This is just whining about the meta, there's no real discussion to be had here.
It's common in tech fields that if you change/repair one thing you break 3 others. It will be fixed when it gets fixed, they likely have a full team of people working very hard to find a solution.
Whining about it on forums, that they don't even check, accomplishes nothing but a +1 to the post count. Settle down and grab a coffee.
Edit- BTW I Love the tavern brawl. It's arena level rewards with wild level decks. No draft RNG involved. I've been getting 10+ wins every time so what's not to enjoy?
What are you planning on playing this season? Murloc Pally, Kingsbane Mill Rogue, and either OTK Dragon Priest or Control Priest.
How is that grind going? Went well enough last season ending at rank 5 3 stars. Could have likely ground out to legend(My meta was mostly secret mage) if I played more.
What decks are you finding to be problematic and what solutions are you looking at? Both versions of Warlock and OTK Priest. I never have enough tech or have it when I need it, and duskbreaker on T3/T4 wrecks my board. With Murlocadin there isn't much else I can do without kneecapping my decks power, so just have to face it and play my best. If the meta shows me more locks I'll go Control Priest more often since I never have that big and issue with them, SILENCE AHOY!

Control with a dragon package rocks. It's fun beating up on decks even though the wins come slower than playing aggro.
I'm more of a fan of spiteful but control/OTK would likely take you to legend faster.

Zero.
It's ok though, I'll take the 3 free packs over a welfare-legend. I want to earn my rankings, not have it handed to me.

Edit- Nvm I understood it wrong

There are better classes at aggro and control. It's not that warrior is bad, it's just that other classes do everything it can do better and faster.
