posted a message on Next expansion predictions

MSoG was a crap expansion. It gave birth to the long lasting jade druid that killed control and pirate warrior that was able to end games by turn 5. Furthermore, this oppression made the hand-buff classes decks almost unplayable, rogue didn't have much of an archetype as everything that Blizzard tried to introduce to rogue was weak and uninteresting after blade flurry nerf, dragon priest was pretty annoying to face with the overly powercreep Drakonoid Operative that discovered a card from the opposition's deck, reno decks were proven to be effective but games were decided whether you drew reno or not. All in all, no more Mean streets of Gadgetzan because it was boring and promoted brain-dead decks.

Making shaman decks are frustrating in my opinion so i can't blame them that they only have evolve shaman.

posted a message on What's wrong with netdecking ?

Netdecking is wrong on many levels. Deck building should be a skill because it determines how well you know the cards and how well you tech your own deck across a range of popular cards used. That being said, because netdecking exists, no one can determine the more knowledged player. Play styles and counters are narrowed down severely as a result of this and it becomes RNG dominated with a rock-paper-scissors battle between "top tier" decks. Furthermore, if the "top tier" decks are the ones that blizzard make, why bother making "fun cards" when all people want to do is win? Sure you could say that some can be creative and all with different mechanics but the main issue with that is everyone you would probably end up playing would wreck you with a net deck. On top of all that, all combo and OTK decks are fading out slowly with blizzard feeling that it is uninteractive (which it is and isnt depending on which side you are on) so it continues to push for a much more curvestone experience, narrowing another archetype. This kind of response can continue to go on and on with the meta being stale and new player experience being more difficult as well as useless card designs. Long story short, aggro is the meta. It is still a rock-paper-scissors game in terms of probability making it RNG festive.

posted a message on Why do people netdeck at rank 10 and above???
    Quote from Mewdrops >>

People like to win. Netdecking lets them win. It's got nothing to do with what rank you're on.

Well that's a poor way to win if you ask me. They would get pretty bored of the same formula of plays.

I see no point in net decking at such low ranks. These ranks are so far away from legend so why bother playing a stale deck with no fun/skill?

posted a message on Could discard mechanic save the game?

Discard mechanic is kinda dodgy in a sense that you cant have much control over what you discard like other card games. What bothers me about it is that if you discard, it kinda defeats the purpose of the card being put in the first place and on top of that, the reason why void caller was such a popular card before standard was that it got rid of battlecries that involved discarding. If you were fine about discarding your cards, you could put other better cards rather than a voidcaller. It is true that you could argue that voidcaller could push for more tempo if you trigger a doomguard from a dead voidcaller on your turn but its not in standard anymore so not many people would like to voluntarily discard their hand without any form of greater compensation.

posted a message on Challenge: Making use of unpopular cards

The goal, as stated from title, is to use cards that i believe are unpopular in order to maximize their benefit. Below are 2 class cards for each class and you must pick one and build a deck that allows you to push for a lethal situation or board control. Some cards are much harder to do this than others.

    Druid

    Savagery

    Soul of the Forest

    Hunter

    Bestial Wrath

    Gladiator's Longbow

    Mage

    Freezing Potion

    Demented Frostcaller

    Paladin

    Stand Against Darkness

    Enter the Coliseum

    Priest

    Mana Geode

    Shadow Word Horror

    Rogue

    Shadow Rager

    Head Crack

    Shaman

    Ancestral Healing

    Totemic Might

    Warlock

    Demon Fuse

    Pit Lord

    Warrior

    Blood Warriors

    Sparring Partner

    Quote from nevr3000 >>

Well, you should be more fair than just using basic cards. Go play on a server where you don't play. Get the free packs, roll quests efficiently... Disenchant what you don't need and make a cheap deck. It's not that hard when you know what you're doing, first time on US when I was doing it as a F2P challenge I went rank 10 in the first month. This was during WotOG though, but the point still stands.
Not that a new player would know how to get such a focussed start, but it's not impossible at all, especially if you have some luck/skill in arena to gather some extra packs.

I agree but my point is that the basic cards are simply too underpowered by today's standards. With this challenge, it makes you realise that cards have become ridiculously insane if you were to put them side by side.

posted a message on Challenge: Win a ranked game with a basic deck

There is a difference between "basic" and "classic" cards. Basic cards are only cards you obtain from levelling heroes or the default cards that you immediately start off with without opening a pack.

Pretty much here to prove that the power creep of the newer expansions and cards just simply make the new player experience pretty difficult.

Tell me if you have any success.

9/10 time you would probably fail

NOTE: use the filter for basic cards in the bottom left of collection menu and use the cards only from there.

posted a message on Arena Standard should have came out during the new expansion

Its just my opinion since the removal of the older card pool made it so that it is much more increasingly difficult to survive since the power creep of cards happened after TGT. Its kind of a reflection of Standard Ranked Mode since majority of survival tools came from older expansions such as Antique Healbot and Sludge Belcher. Because the card pool is much smaller, the frequency of the same cards is increased rather dramatically therefore you would see the same cards much more often.  I believe that arena now is much harder to an extent and the extra cards from the Un'goro expansion could expand on the diversity and also implement the fun of experimenting.
