posted a message on Going to call Blizzard tomorrow about HS transfer

you are being entitled. Hearthstone offers a service not property. You lease the games not own them. Read the ToS. If tomorrow Blizzard decides to shut down Hearthstone, they can do it without giving you your money back, without your consent, and frankly without breaking any laws. The entirety of Online Gaming is ran this way. You pay to unlock features of a product that is rented to you. Blizzard does not have an account transfer option for many of it's games. (only one i can think of is WoW). Truth be told you don't own the cards.

To quote Blizzard's Battle.net ToS: section 9: Ownership.

      1. Game clients and Service.

The Game clients and the Service (including without limitation, any titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialogue, catch phrases, concepts, artwork, animations, sounds, musical compositions, audio-visual effects, methods of operation, moral rights, documentation, in-game chat transcripts, character profile information, recordings or replays of Games, and the Game client and server software) are copyrighted works owned by Blizzard and its licensors. Blizzard reserves all rights in connection with the Games and the Service, including without limitation the exclusive right to create derivative works. You agree that you will not create any work based on the Games or the Service except as expressly set forth by Blizzard in contest rules, Blizzard’s Fan Policies, which include without limitation Blizzard’s Video Policy and Fan Art Submission Policy, or a Game’s EULA.
      2. Account.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY HEREIN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU SHALL HAVE NO OWNERSHIP OR OTHER PROPERTY INTEREST IN THE ACCOUNT, AND YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT ALL RIGHTS IN AND TO THE ACCOUNT ARE AND SHALL FOREVER BE OWNED BY AND INURE TO THE BENEFIT OF BLIZZARD. Blizzard does not recognize the transfer of Accounts. You may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift, or trade any Account, and any such attempt shall be null and void and may result in the forfeiture of your Account.
      3. Virtual Items.

Blizzard owns, has licensed, or otherwise has rights to all of the content that appear in the Service or the Games. You agree that, except as set forth in a Game EULA, you have no right or title in or to any such content, including without limitation the virtual goods or currency appearing or originating in any Game, or any other attributes associated with the Account or stored on the Service. Blizzard does not recognize any purported transfers of virtual property executed outside of a Game, or the purported sale, gift or trade in the “real world” of anything that appears or originates in a Game, unless such transfer is made using a marketplace explicitly authorized or administered by Blizzard, including without limitation, the Diablo III Real Money Auction House.

posted a message on I've been told by multiple people you're gaurenteed a legendary at least every 20 packs.

there's another factor people are forgetting.
Computerized Random Number Generation is rarely random.
Its psuedo-random. (meaning it seems like its random but if you know the code you can predict it)

Now i don't know what form of random number generation blizzard uses, however, i do know that the pack's content is decided on creation.

Let's look at it in a scratch off ticket kinda of way. You go to a gas station to buy five one dollar tickets.  Every roll of tickets have a set number of tickets before a winner (let's say 1 in 10). If you buy 5 different one dollar tickets, each ticket has a probability of 1 in 10.  (this would be like buying your packs individually) With it like that each ticket doesn't affect the next ticket you bought. So you have a flat 10% chance to win on your tickets.

Now let's look at it as if you bought 5 of the same ticket.
the first ticket has a 10% chance of being a winner.
the second ticket has a 1 in 9 (11%) chance if the last ticket didn't win,
    3rd ticket has 1 in 8 (12.5%) chance
    4th has a 1 in 7 (14.2%)chance
    5th has a 1 in 6 (16.7%) chance,

The same thing applies to hearthstone.
More than likely Hearthstone has uses an equation/integer based means to simulate random.
When you buy packs individually you're getting whatever equation/integer is next on their system. so each time you have the same odds of getting a legendary (X in Y, where X= number of possible equations/integers that reward legendaries and Y= total number of possible equations/integers). Using this method you may even get some packs with the exact same equation/integer.

Where if you buy packs in bulk. You still get the same random chance as before, but you're getting equations/integers that are next to each other on the list. Meaning that each pack will be unique. Now, this doesn't promise you a legendary, but it does have a means of tricking of the system.

An important thing to note is that you can double click on the buy with gold button and input your numbers. Arena packs are always going to be generated individually. I personally believe that there is more than 1 equation on the list that gives legendaries, and that after the computer calculates what rarities a pack gives you, that they then calculate for each card what they are, with a chance that they will be bumped up a rarity. (this method would make integers/equations that yield an epic have the chance that the epic becomes a legendary)

So, what did they do? They insta conceded or someone conceded to them or something like that?

Well I haven't seen blizzard say exactly what it is ( you know how they are, such pleasant good PR people ) but from reading I conclude that it's basically 2 or more legend-rank players queing into each other at off hours to make one climb.

So let's say I do this on NA with my friend or another legend account. You press "play" on both accounts at the same time so the matchmaking system is highly likely to match both of you. Then one concedes.

Repeat as much as you can to boost your legend rank until you get top16 ( or whatever is it ) and qualify for blizzcon.

Win trading is not people who farm rank20 by conceding half their games.

Even during off hours, whats the probability of them being matched up?

depends on how many accounts they're using. its not hard for some of these people to get multiple people to assist them. If their streamers they may have some of their viewers who are in similar ranks assist them.

looks like the majority of players voted for the rule of all Linkable cards. allowed. so we'll maintain it that way.

posted a message on Card Treasure Hunt

I 'd like to hijack the post for just a moment. because this post has gone on for almost 6000 posts we need to set the rules again. Let's get a general consensus for what rules we follow.

    The basic rules are:
Riddle maker has 24 hours to make a riddle.
first person to guess correctly makes the next riddle.
One or two Guesses per post
If a riddle goes 24 hours without a response from the riddlemaker, we forfeit the riddle and first come first serve makes the the riddle.

The rule i'd like for others to weigh in on is:
What cards are valid riddle answers.

I feel that all linkable cards are fair which means cards like Mr. Bigglesworth and Deathcharger which are not collectable, but are very much so real cards are fair game.

I like that they add more variety.

I want to know the current players belief on which cards should be allowed, since the players from 4000 posts ago aren't really playing anymore.

So, in addition to answering the current riddle can we get some input on which of the following would be best:

    1) All linkable cards are valid
    OR
    2)  Only Collectible cards (meaning only cards you can obtain for your collection)
    OR
    3) ANY card including the Team 5 Credit cards are allowed (Which are not linkable)
    OR
    4) Riddle maker includes which sets their riddle involves. (For example they make the riddle, and add an additional line of: Collectible Cards only, Adventure Cards, Naxx Only, BRM Only...etc) I feel this method would be the worst, because it allows players to guess where your cards come from. (If you say Adventure cards only, there's only about 100 cards in that group Roughly 65 that are collectible)

Now that I hijacked the post my guess for the last riddle is going to be wrong, but just the same: Temple Enforcer

No it does not, it is collectible through pack or dust only

about 2000 posts back we established that it could be non-collectables as well. As long as it was a linkable card. meaning the only cards that were off limits were the credit cards.

its hard because your riddle jumps all over the place, then you're resistant to make hints that provide any clue. Yea it seems like an easy riddle to you because you know the answer, however, we don't know the answer. At how this riddle is going it may be faster to get start from A and work our way through them alphabetically.

Btw my guess is Bomb Lobber

Good luck killing my Lord Jaraxxus

Are you sure this does not work? I mean, it works for Sacrificial Pact and Lord Jaraxxus is a legendary card, so maybe...

sac pact targets DEMONS, but does not say minion in it.
    Rend targets legendary minions only

Jaraxxus is a legendary demon minion only if he is played in such a way his battle cry doesn;t go off (Voidcaller for instance)
Jaraxxus is a Legendary Demon Hero if he is played normally. He loses the Minion qualification. Same with how you can't Shadow Bolt him, he no longer counts as a minion.

i honestly feel like valla shouldn't have beast synergy
Hunter needs some good cards that don't require beasts and it doesn't fit her flavor either since she doesn't fight with beasts. I feel like a Boosting her to 5/5 and giving her deal 2 to all enemy minions, and boosting her cost up would fit her flavor more. Cause she does an attack that shoots in all directions. Something like 6 or 7 cost.

posted a message on Why is there no in-game chat?

one of the largest arguments against hearthstone having a chat feature is that the turns only last 90 seconds.
While it is easily possible to chat on your opponent's turn, you're also distracting them from their turn.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am for a chat system, in fact recently i added over 10 people to my friend's list just so i could chat with other players.
Its the same reason i frequent forums. I don't net deck, i don't use the arena simulator, i can careless about most of the news posts, I come to hearthpwn to talk about Hearthstone. I do have friends on my list that I spend time during my games to chat with, which is always after my actions. My opponents probably don't like that I do my actions then i spend another 10-30 seconds messaging people before ending my turn. In reality i don't believe HS needs a in match chat system, but rather a chat system like WoW's (Queue someone bringing up barren's chat). I would like to be able to occasionally open the game and just sit in a chat room talking about HS like i used to do with MTGO.

    MTGO has a few advantages:
    1) they have an amazing online response crew (ORC). The ORCs act as both support managers, chat room moderators, and generally just good people. I actually know a few of them in person (that i met through MTGO) The ORCs are paid Employees, whose job is to support MTGO's community. They also provide a link to Card developers. They DO pass along feedback, though not all of them have easy access to do so (some work from different countries than the main headquarters)

    2) Magic the Gathering in general has a much longer turn system. Since All players can react on any step of your turn. (except for a few exceptions). Because of this interaction during your own turn, Players need to be able to communicate.

    3) MtG supports more players than hearthstone in a single game as well as Team Formats. Imagine trying to play 2 v 2 but not being able to talk to your partner. If HS ever gets to where they want to do 2 v 2 formats, a chat is a must even if it's team chat only. Letting your Teammate know that you're planning on playing Deathwing might be something you need to do. Since you know, it would kill their minions too.

    4) MtG is designed solely to be competitve. Hearthstone is designed to be quirky, funny, and casual. Not every card in either card game is viable, however, Hearthstone pushes the boundaries with how many cards they make just for Gimmicks. (Example: Hobgoblin. This card is a card designed around the gimmick of weak attack creatures, but If you make your entire deck low attack, you risk both copies of Hob Dying. If you make too few of your deck have synergy, then you risk him being a dead card, if you play him alone, you wasted your card.)

my next guess is Doomsayer, even though he is a blonde. the cards red glow may make him appear to be ginger

Noting that Doomsayer was guessed above, i'm going to try with sunfury protector however, i compiled all 17 of the red-headed cards that are collectable and none of them appear to be soulless, but sunfury at least fits the "Doesn't care if others die" memo since she set up two minions to die.

red hair is what the derogatory term means and axe flinger which was my guess has red hair. Since that one was wrong let's go with Quick Shot since she has red hair and is somewhat rolling in her picture
