Just cleared with Akali's Champion. I had a very easy run. Everlasting Devotion was the key to the run. This along with two Rallying Quilboar created two respawning 8 health, X Attack taunts. What helps you to build up huge amounts of armour? Taunts do!
Rallying Quilboar also gives you an extra card in hand at the start as well as guaranteeing a strong turn 1 play (and turn two play if you have two!). Killing the computer's shrine early seems so important to prevent snowball, and they made it quite easy.
That was really it. The rest of the deck was an assortment of armour gain and dragons. Geosculptor Yip was the only other card that particularly stood out. By placing him immediately left of a Rallying Quilboar, the minion he spawns gets taunt. With 8+ armour (which was super easy to have because of all the other armour gain cards) you essentially get even more huge "respawning" taunts.
This essentially made total board domination super easy and victory followed shortly after. The only tip I can think of is to try and have one of your two Akali's Champion "dead" at all times. You rarely need both up, but it really helps to always have one of them, and by keeping one on cooldown you never end up in that "3 turn wait" situation if the computer hits you with a board clear. The tempation to protect both at all costs and only use them to go face is real, but I found that since they are renewable, using one to constantly remove the computer's minions results in you completely out-valuing it and clearing up when they have no cards in hand.
On the subject of "trap cards" - Ysera and War Master Voone never got played. Despite me having two of the former. Wanting to hero power often for armour results in large hands that don't allow for these cards to be played without milling oneself.
The approach I've taken is to play Alexstrasza + the combo on a Stormwind Knight. The rest is card draw and removal (and Silence in case there's a taunt in the way).
Maybe your approach is better though (playing various high health minions), I can't be sure.
Thank you! So far the "many high health minions" approach is ok but I'm not totally happy with it. The high health can cause some people problems, but on the whole I think the minions slow the deck down because they take up slots that could be filled with more card draw.
The Stormwind Knight suggestion seems like a good one. Including more removal spells also makes Gadgetzan Auctioneer better and it was already doing well in my games. Alexstrasza more than makes up for the lossed chip damage from the other minions too.
I've set myself the challenge of playing a deck containing only basic and classic cards and I want to try Inner Fire - Divine Spirit Combo Priest.
The idea is to get some innocent looking Oasis Snapjaw or Gurubashi Berserker to survive a turn, then double its health twice to 28, play Inner Fire and attack for *hopefully* lethal. I'm not expecting anything beyond rank 10 for the deck.
Any advice on what other cards to include is welcome but for now my main questions are:
Should I run two Inner Fire or just one? You only need 1 for the combo but 2 would make you more likely to draw it sooner. On the flip side, having both in your hand would make one a dead draw, but you could play one for tempo on a high health minion. You could also play one in the early game on a Lightwell for instance, knowing that you had a spare one in your deck.
In my opinion N'zoth is one of the coolest cards in the game. I would definitely recommend crafting him. However, he is only worth it if you have good deathrattle minions already. If you don't have any of the priest deathrattle cards or Tirion Fordring, or if your playing wild, the neutrals such as Deathlord, Sludge Belcher, Sylvanas Windrunner etc., then he probably won't be a good craft for you. Basically, N'zoth is a great and super fun card, but you need to have the deathrattle minions for him to bring back first.
So, Blizzard just gave us all a free epic - Fight Promoter. Why? Do they think they are being generous by giving us a free epic that sees (almost)no play?
I guess we can disenchant it for a free 100 dust. But would it really have killed them to give us a free 400 dust and let us craft an epic we actually want?
I suppose free stuff is free stuff, but this just seems to pathetic that it sort of feels insulting. What do you guys think?
Earlier a C'Thun Priest and I (Elise Starseeker fatigue warrior) were deep in fatigue. He had a 31/31 C'Thun with taunt on board (his last card), which was almost through my own wall of much smaller taunt minions. I played Nefarian (I had Golden Monkey'd already) hoping to get Shadow Word: Death, Entomb, Mind Control, etc., and got Purify and Shadow Visions instead, both useless. When all seemed lost, my Shifter Zerus decided to role-play as an Aldor Peacekeeper, setting his C'Thun to 1 atk and allowing me to clear it and win the game. Praise Zerus!

Brilliant, thanks for answering!

Does a golden Demonic Project cause non-golden minions to become golden demons?

Grimestreet I accept your challenge! I was thinking about doing this myself too.
I will report my progress here in the manner you request and hope others will also.
I have done a successful clear, but I can't remember which shrine it was with, so I am starting fresh.
0/21 Shrines cleared.

I don't really want to craft Nat Pagle but I will step up the card draw. I think I will try Gadgetzan Auctioneer too.

How much card draw should I run? Are Northshire Cleric and Power Word: Shield enough, or should I be running them along with every Loot Hoarder, Novice Engineer and similar cards available?
What should I play in the early game? Turn 4 onwards I figure I should be dropping the staple big minions: Oasis Snapjaw, Chillwind Yeti, Gurubashi Berserker, Boulderfist Ogre, Temple Enforcer etc. But what should I be looking to play in the earlier turns?
Let me know what you think should go in the deck and why!

No Brann Bronzebeard for the x10 adapt on the Kaleidosaur? Feel like your missing out on some fun.

Moderators please delete this thread, clearly not going to get any remotely constructive responses. Thanks.
