I left an unfinished arena 3-2, when I logged in a while ago after the expansion was launched, I saw I had two unopened rise of shadows pack. One of them was from the tavern brawl, and I assumed the other one was a launch gift. I opened both packs, bought 50 using gold, and when I had opened 10 and had 40 left, I remembered the arena run. I entered the arena, and still saw my deck, but I couldn't play with it anymore. Instead, by pressing the key I got my rewards: a ROS card pack and some gold and dust. But when I went back to the "open card packs", I still had only 40 left to open.
So can I assume that extra pack I had when I logged in, was the one from the arena run? I also got the free arena ticket, by the way.
It's still a "solid" body with spellpower, it might be worth including it, even in a not-odd deck. Anyway, I'm not convinced about only one arcanologist in a deck with 4 secrets and 2 kirin tors.
Perhaps, it's even good enough to revive Keleseth Rogue on its own.
That's what I was going to say, it can be very good in Keleseth Rogue, as most of the time you will hero power in turn 2 if you haven't got Keleseth or are on the coin.
Got it in my first try following this guide, so thanks. Of course I was lucky to have the 3 pawns + 1 knight in turn 4, and him having only 3 pawns on turn 3. I controlled board and snowballed from there.
I own and ipad and I just bought it. I totally don't care for cosmestic differences in games and I haven't bought any of the other 3 paid portraits (I spent around 12 hours in WoW for the first time to get Lyiadrin, though), but I got it because I can, it's reasonably cheaper than the others, the money goes to charity, and it's exclusive and time-limited.
I think it is a bad card in any format, it is a huge tempo loss to play it, and it might only be worth to play it in a deck full of deathrattle minions, that happen to be in your hand when you play it. Maybe it could find a place in a Nzoth deck.
Whenever I see people commenting "This card is too slow, you need to have some board in order to play it, win more, blah blah" , all I can think of is : Defender of Argus . With that card, you need to have 2 minions to get good value and has slightly worse stats per mana cost compared to this.
You don't need to get greedy and try to hit Malygos, C'thun or really expensive stuff with this. Sure, it's nice to do so and seems "win more", but it's good value even if it hits something like the new Undercity Huckster , or Xaril , or Unearthed Raptor, or the new 4 mana 1/1 that deathrattles into a 5/5, a SI:7 Agent. It's just so flexible, it removes the "draw card" RNG a little, it adds a card to your deck, card which was already in your deck to begin with so you don't necessarily get garbage.
People are acting like getting one minion to stick is so hard, when there some decent Deathrattle minions out there, plus you can even combo this later in the game so this is a good card even in the late game.
Edit: In fact, I'm pretty sure that if Defender of Argus wasn't in the game , and it would somehow be added in this expansion and was revealed right now, people would trash him with endless streams of "insanely slow, win more, you need a board , 2/3 for 4 is awful, yada yada".
In the current meta, Defender of Argus is almost exclusively played in zoo, a deck that is based in always having board presence by using cards that generate minions, sticky minions thanks to its deathrattle, low cost minions, a hero power that refills your hand, and having at most 4-5 spells in the entire deck (and one of them, implosion, generates minions). So yeah, in that particular deck, Argus is very good, but most other decks can't rely on it effectively. Current raptor rogues would usually have it because they need egg activators, but right now is not a top deck because the zoo concept is only viable in classes with a lot of draw, like warlock (hero power) and paladin (divine favor).
Anyway, I agree this card is very good with a lot of minions rogue can play, including most you mentioned, although is going to be hard to have Xaril alive for that. With twilight summoner, in a deck that also has raptor, is extremely good because you can play summoner in turn 4, and the opponent takes a big risk letting it live because you can play either raptor or shadowcaster in turn 5, and if he kills it, you just got a 5/5 por 4 mana and they wasted an attack, so it's a win-win (unless they have silence or some other specific removal).
You'd have to be pretty stupid to use BGH on this guy if you know that CThun is on his way to the party.
Unless you're running two BGH that is.
The tempo and card advantage gained by killing this with bgh on turn 6 would probably win you the game anyway before they have time to actually play cthun, if they manage to draw it anyway.
I think this is a kinda bad card (and I'm usually very , very optimistic about new cards).
This card is good when your opponent has 3 minions, awesome when your opponent has 4 or more minions, but really bad otherwise. Not to mention that if you're getting good value out of this card, you still have to deal with a threatening board. It may find a place in Renolock actually, goes really well with Shadowflame. If it was 4 mana with slightly lower stats, it would be also good in Control Paladin, you can Equality, play this guy, then Consecration.
Yeah 11 mana play, not bad.
He said "if it was 4 mana", then that combo would be possible. You can still make it with wild pyromancer instead for 9 mana, but then this also dies.
I don't think this card is good enough to replace healbot, as it is mentioned if the opponent has a big board your first priority is to clear it, healing only delays the inevitable.
I don't see the point in it, when Fiery War Axe is still a staple in warrior and much better.
1, You will not always have Fiery War Axe in your staring hand and this is decent replacement for early game control
2, In arena you often doesn't have Fiery War Axe in your deck and then this card is HUGE (since it will have bonus chance to appear) since you have worst hero power in game and smashing minions with weapon give it some value
Of course, this is good in arena, but that's another story. I was talking constructed, and I still think having just fiery war axe in the deck is better, but I could be wrong, we'll see.
I had never played WoW in my life, and it took me around 12 hours to reach level 20 as a human paladin. At level 15 I did 3 dungeons, and in 2 of them there was some sort of bug that prevented the final dungeo boss to appear. In the first dungeon I tried to be a healer but I didn't know how to do it properly and people were mad at me, then I switched to tank and just kept going forward.
I don't plan on continuing playing, but is there some way I can have a mount in this starter edition without paying a subscription? I should have the heathstone one. I also should have a companion or something from having my mobile validator activated in my account, but I couldn't find it.

2 legendaries in 53 packs (6 rewarded, 47 bought with gold, not counting the free legendary), extremely disappointed, #neverlucky .

This won't draw a card at 10 mana, if yo hit that sport, you are just happy to summon the ooze, while wild growth would be completely wasted.
