Well it is certainly not easy. I've made it to 3 once, 4 twice and 5 three times, but also never made it all the way to legend.
I think Tempo Mage is really strong right now, and not too expensive. And I prefer it without flamewakers.
Then, good old combo druid is still great and not overly expensive, though there are several rares. I've seen a lot of the great streamers climbing and doing well with Druid both last season and now. That would be my suggestion.
Well as a few others already observed, playing face hunter is well known to be the catalyst for the harshest feedback because most see it as the most brainless, lack of skill deck there is. Thus, people are mad at you for even playing it and mad for losing to it when they know what they should be able to do to win.
I do not understand how anyone can complain about the pricing of the game.
A) It's free
B) If you like it, you can buy a few packs and do quests and arena and be fine to make at least one great deck
C) The problem lies with you if you think you should be able to quickly make a top competitive deck if you never pay for anything and barely play, which seems to be the most vocal type of critic
I do not think lightwell or annoy-o-tron work there. Injured Blademasters would work or sludge belchers. Also, for me there are too many spells. Then, divine spirit and inner fire are too situational and need decks built around them, to me. I would substitute some minions for those spells. The rest looks good.
I think people are REALLY under-estimating fizzlebang. Some insane possibilities there if you can keep him alive, and throw in some inspire mechanics to help and it can be nuts.

1 or 2 cards different than Reynad's deck which has already been posted.

To learn how to play the deck?

I've been running a shaman close to this. No healing wave, and two Silver Hand Regents, the synergy is awesome.

This is horrible. You have almost no minions that are relevant past turn 4, and it is way too slow to compete.

Got this guy (Golden Varian in the image attached), two Avianas, two Gorehowls, and a Mistwalker. I opened 116 packs.
