Before Wotog came out i considered Paladin to be a freewin if you're playing Rogue in Arena, but since the expansion came out I'm struggling really hard in this matchup. In fact it's at the moment my worst matchup (considering all classes) with a winrate of 39%. Every Paladin i encounter has at least 3 weapons in his deck (normally 1-2 Truesilvers and 1-2 pieces of that 3 mana weapon) and i just can't keep up with that. If i trade, they always end up outvalueing me, but if I try to race them I always lose to buffs. On the other hand, Rogue against Mage became one of my best matchups, which used to be one of my worst before the Wotog launch. Did anybody make similar experiences?
Pre WOG - Paladin considered best + easiest class for newer players to play, therefore you see lots of them but varied in quality of player.
WOG - Paladin no longer best + easiest class (probably mage now), less experienced player moves to Mages, remaining Paladin player pool is stronger in quality.
I still consider rouge to be the strongest in arena. The only class that really beats is warrior if he haed fiery war axe in his starting hand.
I also consider Rogue to be the strongest Arena class. Warrior is actually my 2nd best matchup with Rogue (after Priest), but I think that's due to people really playing bad with Warrior, the latter is also in my opinion a soft counter to Rogue.
As Rogue against Paladin after WoOG I have 76.47% win rate, with 51 games played, only better win rate is against Shaman 77.55%, and the no-factors of the expansion Druid and Priest.

My theory -

Total theory though - no facts at all.

rogue has a 59% win rate while going first the highest in arena so far.. anyway it happens.. some easy wins become a lot harder than they should be..
