Oh well I've had my fun with the new expansion I guess. Back to civ 5 lol.
Hearthstone is such a bad game. I mean. Yeah don't know what to say about it. Being behind on board leaves you completely out of options almost immediately and you're no longer really playing. Since this happens in about half the games, you're really playing only half the time. Your deck choice mostly decides what happens, then draw, then RNG and THEN decisions.
That's the complete reverse of what it should be but.. Yeah. They don't really make any attempts to stop this.
Just any win-more card needs to go, hearthstone cannot support them. Flametongue totem, lyra, fledgling, ragnaros, ysera, frothing berserker. All those types of cards that give a big bonus way over their mana cost turn after turn but only if they randomly survive... They need to go away.
The Death Knight cards are a neat idea, but how long before people get pretty sick of them? At least their bonuses aren't completely out of control like Flametongue totem. That's just an example of a card that instantly snowballs into a victory. Pure trash.
But whatever they won't ever do any of this and the game will become shit 2-3 days after every expansion, at least for me, as I realize that I'm not really playing a game, I'm just completing quests and then rage quitting lol.
If they deleted my account tomorrow I'd never play again, basically. That's just the sign that a game isn't really a game, it's more just .... a big number that people put work into day after day.
I mean that's how we get ya with mobile games and account nowadays but it doesn't make a game.. not suck dongers :D
Oh look, golden legend warrior, I wonder what he is playing in casual! Take a guess... It starts with P and ends with my computer thrown out the window.
meh, it's casual. Just concede, it only helps you. The more you lose, the more you get matched against bad ( aka fun ) decks and the more you actually get to play "casual". The more you win, the more you just play against tryhards. thanks blizzard
I mean that's how they designed the game. Whoever is ahead snowballs by getting more and more ahead, which replicate MTG's dismal "mana screw" mechanic and favors aggro. And then you can ignore minions if they don't have taunt, which again massively favors aggro. They sort of caught on to this ( after like 3 years, they're not smart ) and stopped making charge minions and they try to make more defensive taunts, so that's decent.
Tar Creeper is a great card for example. It's very strong defensively but it can't be used to push a board advantage and to snowball.
They designed themselves into a corner by letting minions trade. Either you make it about value, which results in shitty mana screw situation every single game for whichever player is behind on turn 3-4, or they don't make it about value, which results in aggro and bursting strategies.
The only alternative is to make overpowered board clears which, again, are extremely unfun. It forces the aggro player to rush into it and then the game is all about a coin toss, just like it was with Reno.
I kind of like the latest set but the game is severly lacking in interactivity. It's simply too hard to deal with things and too easy to snowball any minor advantage into a crushing win.
this is the kind of card Blizzard shouldn't design. Just played against Lyra. Again. This is one of those cards that has to be answered right away. Just like Fledgling in arena. At least they understood that for arena, but for constructed they're a little slow to catch on.
The game isn't fun when you can just YOLO a card that auto-wins if it doesn't die right away. This makes Priest a problem because they can just drop Lyra and maybe you kill it, maybe you lose right away.
It's just shitty. It's a fun card but it's too clunky in design and frustrating to play against.
Back after 2 months for free arena. Still the same old shit.
Adapt can still give poisonous. For some idiot reason. Mind control tech still in the game. All arenas still the same 3 classes. Still common as rewards at high wins.
But I hear fledgling got a minor occurence debuff so. That's good!
So sick of the slow rate of change. Every damn time I hear Ben Brode's fat face open up to talk, he's got a promised solution to every problem that's just been dragging on and on for years. Hey fuckhead, actually DO IT. Stop "looking into it" and "thinking about it" and saying "We're tried it". No just fix it. Just send one email to Kripp and he'll give you the list of changes and you can do it over the weekend, you lazy idiots. Lol.
Just doing some crappy quest on EU wild, rank 22. All netdeck, half gold heroes. That means hearthstone has 0 new players now. You know, new players? The people the devs spend 100% of their time thinking about? Too bad there's none. Idiots.
And now the games are just "try to get an early push. Oh I fail, I lose, because Reno exists".
And that's about the game now. Can you win before Reno, or is there Reno? Can you draw Reno? Are you a skillstone Reno drawer? Woo.
I can't even do daily quests anymore the game is so bad. Nothing about hearthstone is fun at this point :/ Been watching Kripp struggle to enjoy the game for a week now as well. He hates at least 50% of his time playing the game.
No, they are absolutely terrible and incompetent. I'm glad everyone else is finally starting to see this lol. The reddit for hearthstone is basically just people blasting the game at this point.
From turn 1, I know that if he draws and plays it, I lose. There is no counterplay. Nothing else matters. Nothing whatsoever. If he draws this one card, he wins. His deck is 29 blanks and 1 N'Zoth and my "strategy" is that he doesn't get it.
Perfect example of a shitty card design. As long as the game has no discard mechanics, you can't have cards like N'Zoth and Reno. Sorry.
This is the biggest rock-paper-scissors meta i've ever seen.
The entire game is basically like.. card battle. You just get a deck of cards with a number on them, draw them, then your opponent plays like a 2. Oh I have a 3 in my hand! 3 eats your two. You keep doing this for like 3 turns ( about 4 minutes ) until you see who drew the best hand.
Repeat for 600 games and you too can have legend if you copy the right deck! haha
I hate that the only viable paladin deck is the Anyfin deck. Anyfin is a fantastically unfun card, once again. It generates a deck with 28 blanks and two magical jokers that win the game. Then it's just 'DURRR DO I HAS DREW DEMZS ANIFUN??".
Yeah it's funny once or twice, but then it's total garbage. Once again, no counterplay, nothing. If they have it, you lose. That's it.
The only way to win is, once again, "Win faster".
Look Blizzard, "win faster" can't be the counter to a card.
The Rogue played swashburglar, got Throughsteal which got Entomb and Drakonid Operative.
Meanwhile as Dragon priest I just auto lose to azure drake, because they were too stupid to design DragonFire potion well. Whoops there seems to be one neutral dragon with 4 attack that's in every deck. Whoops. Whoops. Whoops. Time to give ourselves a raise! lol. So bad.
I agree. I like the idea of control warrior, but I quickly tried that deck, but I queued into a hunter (??) and then a druid. the hunter game was fun, but there was no chance against the druid. That deck doesn't really have win conditions apart from outlasting.
The most frustrating thing about the Jade Mechanic is also that it never costs any tempo.
They don't even have to lose the board to set up their win condition, just chain jade topdecks and you win more and more every turn for free. Oh, yay, 6 mana 3/6 that made a 6/6. Yeah, that sounds about right tempo-wise, yep. Oh how many of that card did I fit into my deck? Don't worry, only infinite.
lol.
At least Miracle Rogue can stall out sometimes. The price you pay for not winning after drawing 15 cards is..you die. It's not.. now your deck is just 1 mana 12/12s.
Fibonnaci's deck is designed for the legend meta. Not so much for climbing to legend.. According to mr Brode, 50% of decks in Legend run the pirate package. Over the whole ladder, it's only 17% (supposedly).
The ranks just reset though... The thing is that the guy who got rank1 was running Jade Shaman, a deck that craps on Fib's deck.
All people do is play a jade, pass. That strategy beats this deck easily. You simply can't afford to take the damage turn after turn, but you also don't have enough removal to 1 for 1 all their Jades. Once they get to 5/5 and 6/6 jades, you're done. Now they just play 1 card and totem and you have to deal with the jade without using AoE, which makes all your revenges worthless. The deck also doesn't rush you down, which again never triggers revenge.
You just get grinded out of the game by Jades.
The only way to win is if the Jade player is bad. That's it. Even then you need lucky brawls and lucky rats.
Jade druid is also an auto concede and priest is just a bad matchup.
That's like 70% of what I faced.. so..yeah... I did eventually face some patches, which I destroyed.
This just makes this deck really unfun to play. More rock paper scissors. You either get a patches deck that you crush, or you get a reno / jade deck that stomps you. Woopee.
I'd rather play Dragon Priest that can actually win against anything decently often.
Oh well I've had my fun with the new expansion I guess. Back to civ 5 lol.
