It's not about being able to tech against it or build a deck to counter Pirate Warrior. It's about how a aggro deck that's faster than anything we've ever experienced before, dominates the meta so early on that it limits exploration very hard. That is not fun. If you think it's fun, please explain how you manage to enjoy it. So far, 95% of you has completely missed the point.
"It's about how a aggro deck that's faster than anything we've ever experienced before" Just curious, how long have you been playing the game? I still have PTSD symptoms when I hear that damn voice calling "Bring out your dead" followed by the coin sound into "I feel icky!"
Started playing a few weeks after release. I remember all of the aggro decks. Undertaker Hunter games did not end on turn 4 or 5. It was a horrible meta, but it was not as fast as Pirate Warrior. Nothing compares in face rush retardation.
in a way, i'm thankful for the pirates as it's limiting the number of crap jade druids. now that deck is a totally boring vanilla pile of crap waste of time to play against.
You either don't play the game for more then 5 minutes a day, or that's a lie. Even if you play a deck that's sole purpose is to counter pirate decks you'll still lose some games because of draw rng.

If you are consistently losing to any deck by turns 4-5, you are doing it wrong. Stop taking greedy lines and stop playing greedy decks.
If literally 80% of your matchups are against aggro warrior and you are experimenting with slow decks... well, that pretty dumb of you to expect to win or have fun (I take it losing by turn 5-6 is not fun). Tech anti aggro anti-weapon deck and farm the wins. Why can't "creative" mean beating the meta that is beating you?
Did I say I'm experimenting with slow decks? But if you want to go there, Face Hunter is a slow deck compared to Pirate Warrior. How can you not think that Pirate Warrior is bad for a fresh expansion which should be a time for exploration?
You seem to think pirate warrior is the only successful deck. Somehow you have failed to acknowledge the fact that pirate warrior is incredibly useless once you successfully wipe its board twice.
Pirate warrior is the spawn of the initial chaos of a new meta, its hyper aggressive play style lacks any sort of comeback mechanic and because of this once the meta settles down the deck will probably die off until a major revision is made to it, similar to what happened to aggro shaman turning into midrange shaman.
You need to stop complaining and face the music, aggro has been a part of hearthstone since day 1 and isn't going anywhere. Its time for you to suck it up and keep playing or quit, your choice.
The real question is, are people who only play the easiest most popular netdecks enjoying the pirate warrior meta? I can't imagine turn 1 or turn 2 concedes because you draw a bad hand is fun. The entire pirate warrior archetype is the chess equivalent of just knocking your opponents pieces down and saying "I win!", despite the fact you didn't actually earn it or outplay anyone. I guess technically, yeah you do win. Just like a baby wins when someone else has to clean up their crap after they poo themselves. So if those people are satisfied with that hollow victory, then I guess it's fine. I don't mind the matches, they are short and nowhere near as bad or suffocating as shamanstone was. Plus it is satisfying when I do survive the onslaught, and they have to concede because they are nothing but one trick ponies.
The games that are against real decks are some of the most compelling games I have had. And I am having a blast experiementing with all the cool cards.
I fear it's suppressing a lot of potential out there. I feel there are interesting aggro decks out there, that aren't "face" decks (especially in Paladin, Druid, and the entire Hunter class), but they're more difficult to play, don't win on turn 4 and thus are inferior, and they would lose to all the Pirate Warrior instead of countering it. Have tried Paladin in particular, and it's cool as hell - there are actually games where I've drawn 27 cards (versus the aggro stereotype of topdecking every turn), there's a ton to planning "waves" of attack, timing buffs and draws, trading or not. I wish they could encourage and strengthen archetypes like that, not repeatedly making the mistake of introducing a deck that simply plays every card possible and only attacks face.
People Will always netdeck and If you try to experiment your deck Will most likely be suboptimal and therefore you Will lose alot unless you specificaly try to counter that one net deck. Pirate warrior is not the problem, it even gets smashed by other bettet, more fun to play decks. The problem is people netdecking and not the deck itself. Realise this or become way greater of a deck builder yourself. Not much esle to do.
I see more shamans but Yes! I love hitting face! Aggro decks and hyper aggro like PW is the most fun decks to play :) The thing is nobody tech against it and still play the decks i smash to the floor and still want to play it. So they scream on the forums and its op that and op this. Keep calm and play counters not scream on forum.
Team5 will never, ever learn that 1mana and 2mana cost cards should be very weak.
Instead they'll keep printing 1mana 3/3 weapons, 1mana 9999/3 attack minions, 1mana 3/2 pirates with no real downside, 1mana 1/1+1/1 beasts....
Oh but god forbids that removals cost 1mana, better nerf that Execute!
I'm not sure what the difference between overstated 1 mana minions are and overstated 5 drop like drakanoid crusher is. Then there's jade golem cards which are all overstated after the second or third one played. Goon paladin is full of value as well.
Sure agro requires immediate answers but tech in a couple of mistress, an ooze and a couple of low cost taunts. You can beat pirate warrior pretty regular with that set up.

It is pretty difficult to enjoy Ladder or the game as a whole when everyone net decks and never experiments or tries to have fun with the game.

CCGing since '98.
It's ok. I play control / armor warrior to troll them.
Most warlock, priest or druid matchups are completely crap though, so I just concede those and save me the 20 minutes fighting for a 5-20% chance.

It's no longer an aggro warrior meta. I see way more shamans, priests and druids.
