This was an idea presented by Archon Amaz, but reworked towards the setup of WoW.
The idea: Such as used in WoW, there are 3 different tiers(FOR THE MOST PART) (healer, damage & tank). Each having unique spells according to there talent specialization and class.
Although healers wouldn't really be viable in hearthstone, eventually they may become a necessity if the 2v2 system ever happens.
Tanks would have a larger health pull, and have new spells copied off of wow, such as spell reflect for a warrior, essentially turning each class uniquely into a whole new one.
Damage (DPS) would require the most thought, in order for it to work spells would have to be removed from some speicalizations, for example: as a mage your options are Fire Mage, Frost Mage, and Arcane Mage... Fireball would only be available to the Fire Specialization, etc.
This would only affect the classes, no common cards would need to be created, just class specifics. It would add WAY MORE variation in the game and make more players join, and regular players continue playing!
This is my idea, I honestly couldn't tell you if this is un-achievable, just an idea I think would be SICK!
Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time (if you read it all :P )
Seems like a fair statement. The idea is to add more Variations, as many people are getting bored of versing the same decks. But yes. It would be very complicated :'/
True true. More adventures / expansions need to be added though. A lot of people are getting bored. I know myself; as soon as I unlock the remaining cards I have left, this game might be boring
I really see no need for a talent system in the game. There is only one fix I see to add a vast change to classes; Alternate Hero Powers. I see this as a much smaller but very impactful change that will allow for a large variety in different decks. It sort of fits with your theme here.
Talents are inherent in the cards. If you want to be a resto druid, include Healing Touch. Melee? Claw. Caster? Starfire. I'd love to see the viability of different deck focuses improved - specifically, I think spell damage is an awesome mechanic that is almost entirely ignored (probably signifying it's budgeted too steeply) beyond convenient cards like Azure Drake.
So no, there's no need for a talent system, especially in a game that has had simplicity, elegance, and ease-of-access as cores values since early alpha. Still, it would be nice if it weren't so difficult to use alternative decks without being at such a sharp disadvantage vs. meta-dominating "decks of the month".
Would be really bad and if the purpose to add more variations, it won't. People play that is considered to be the best at the current state. After people figure out an "awesome" deck with a talent tier, everyone would play it. We would end in the current situation only with a complicated system.
The only thing what i would see as good and entertaining is an achievement system in the game, where you can collect various achievements earn points and unlock with these points cosmetic rewards. There could be funny achievements like "Furious chicken: ill your opponent with an angry chicken" or others like "Are you mad? Deal 100 damage to your hero with Mad Bomber oder Madder Bomber". that would add a lot funny decks, people who are trying to complete the achievements and so on.
Your essentially asking "What do you guys think of Hearthstone expanding it's playable classes from 9 to 27?" If Death Knight and Monk (2 classes) haven't been added to the game yet, how do you expect them to find the time to create and balance 18 extra "classes"?
Interface wise, it has more issues. To not confuse players, they would likely have to create new Portraits, Emotes, Voices, and Hero Powers. They also would have to find a way to seperate the collection nicely between the different class traits. Remember, these are the people who believe that more than 9 deck slots would "Confuse" their playerbase. This playerbase is also ones who couldn't be bothered to know the difference between throwing down $70 for Classic, or GVG packs.
After all of that is said and done, there's now the fact that you are destroying many deck archtypes that currently exist to implement your new system. Mage for example, loses all firespells if they go "Freeze Mage", so they lose out on all of their burst making the deck unplayable. This would cause huge issues with veteran players, and cause mass riots or people who leave the game (and thus, loss of income for Blizzard).
As I started with; adding a simple 2 new classes, where the rest of the game remains unchanged, is a much better idea than adding 18 new classes and changing a whole lot of interface, rules, cards, and such. If there were some sort of trait system, I think it would be accomplished much more with a simple change in Hero powers. Unfortunately, there are many cards that were designed around these hero powers... so it would not be reasonable (yet) to attempt an alternate hero power system.

Any Thoughts?

This sounds like a balancing nightmare. People already bitch about a lack of balance in game. This would just make it impossible.

This is Hearthstone, not WoW. Go away.
Used to be a proud Handlock player.

Still flirting with the ladder from times to times with Renolock.
I don't like it.
