I understood this long ago but now with major dominance of mages on ladder, i think that community will listen.
First of all there are 3 types of cards in HS: minions, weapons, spells.
Against minions we have another minions, taunt and silence. And all this we can find in neutral cards, so any1 can use it.
Against weapons we have ooze and it's also neutral so any1 can use it.
But against spells all we have is counterspell and spellbinder and both this cards are belong to mage, class which already has more spells then any other class.
So my question is - Why, blizzard. WHY the hell there is no counter mechanic for spells among neutral cards?!!! Spell is about 30% of all crads and you can't defend against spells. All you can do with spells is hope that you will be lucky enough to cast your imba spells earlier then your opponent.
I think that we need antimagic mechanics in neutral cards.
It can be some kind of interrupt secret like counterspell but less powerfull for example it make spell cost+2, if you can pay new price then you still cast the spell otherwise it is countered. Or some creature which will increase spell cost. Or magic resist mechanic which will decrease magic damage for example(by 1 or by half or first spell only etc).
The meta will shift once again, to where mages will be played less. There are a couple of counterplays already. Just like priests were said to be overpowered some time ago.
Counterspell of mages is a mechanic to counter plays in mirror matches, just like Flare for Hunters.
The downside of spells is, that its a one time effect without improving your side of the board. If you play a weapon for example, you can attack at least once before its countered by an ooze.

If we will have neutral antispell cards it will lead us to situation when if there are 80% of mages(or other heavy spell decks, mage is just an example) on ladder - each player will start taking antispell cards and it will decrease mage winrate and as a result people will pick mage decks less.

It will lead us to balanced class representation.
A shift in the meta will do the same without introducing new cards or a patch. 1 or 2 month ago you were facing priests all the time. People will always cry for a nerf, but time will do just as fine.
Next time quote the whole post and not a piece of it to make your answer look better.

I'm not very concerned about current mage domination on ladder. I agree that even now you can build a deck which will counter mages rather well.
I'm talking about whole bunch of cards(spells) which don't have any counter. You can't prevent them, you only can deal with the consequences of this spells. You can't heal yourself before you will be damaged, you can't return your creature which died in aoe the turn before etc.
I want antyspell mechanic to have more control in this game, now you can plan something if you dealing with creatures(like ok i have big taunter and most likely i won't take any dmg from creatures next turn) and weapons(again i have taunt - no dmg from weapons) but you can't do anything about spells. Sometimes you can deal with the consequences like silencing buffed minion or healing damage but it's not enough or often too late.
Spells are already under used in most decks today because we just use minion buffs instead. If this was a thing I would never EVER run spells in my deck
In lots of games "silence" is an effect used to stop magic users from casting spells. How about "silence" on hero means they cannot cast spells the next round. 1 round without casting spells doesn't seem to over powered, but it could really screw with delay mages.
To be honest, Faerie Dragon might as well be immune to magic.
You already can't cast spells on Faerie, lets take it a step forward and keep any spell from affecting it in the first place. Meaning, AoE damages, freezes, the like.

p.s. Please don't forget about poll.
There is already such a thing, its called "heal".

+1
Give this man a medal.
Or if not in the neutral cards, give all the classes something to deal with it.
Give rogues cloak of shadows.
Give shamans grounding totem.
Give warriors spell reflect.
etc.

You're not going crazy, I edit 2~3 times each post
Right, but there's no neutral spells, so you would have an issue that it would almost become another mandatory minion.
And then you can bounce the minion to keep silences for a multitude of turns, which means it's not a single round anymore.
