I've been playing this game since its release and for their 10th year anniversary, to commemorate it, I guess the devs decided to print the most broken, badly designed card in 10 years lol. Dude, Harth Stonebrew.
Just lost to a druid who played him turn 5, then spent turn 6 playing Buffed Emperor Thaurissan (which comes from Harth, so it's not a lucky draw or highrolly in any way shape or form. And you know, everyone knows that iconic hands from HS's past include 5 mana emperor, but I digress.) Turn 7, I get OTKed from 40 hp with 2 taunts up and a lifesteal minion. He used patron warrior cards.
If my opponent had the nuts, id be less mad, but he didn't. This came from ONE card. How on earth did they think this was ok?? I can't wait to see all of the OTK complainers freak out about this card in the coming days. This is insane
This is 100% coming from a place of emotion, he definitely does not just give otks lol.
And he actually did you a favor, if he would have played guff on turn 5 (guff still being in standard of course), you also would have lost, just much later.
i just played a crap random deck for finishing the "play x weapons" quest. i added all random weapons and all random cheap cards and stonebrew for the lolz. i won a couple of times just thanks to stonebrew. esp. the shuttercrap variant is basically an instant win if you play it right. prediction: ill get down voted hard by ultra fanbois. edit: i just realized, in this section you cant get down voted. but you know what i mean. :)
I’ve always wondered why anyone gets upset when they lose in this game. The ladder system was changed to make it easier to rank and once you get that rank amazingly easy to get back to that rank each month if you just play to clear the quests. Unless you do nothing but sit and play the game in hopes you get a shot at a tournament invite why would losing even matter? The meager rewards from ladder play are worth about $4 a month so if you miss d5 and don’t get that epic card for 100 dust it’s not life and death. Nobody plays to lose all the time but the raging over it never ceases to amaze me. I rage over tax increases that suck another $1000 a year out of my pocket for what amounts to nothing. Enjoying the game and the pure comedy of it should be the focus not some random event that makes your blood pressure rise.
I’ve always wondered why anyone gets upset when they lose in this game.
Well, part of it is that some of us would like to actually have FUN while playing this game... and it's simply NOT fun playing 37 straight games against Highlander Brann Warrior because every clueless schmuck has sat here and simply copy/pasted Blizzard's latest hilariously overpowered and ridiculous card and deck idea.
Literally someone sat there and said, "Hey... remember when we BANNED Brann before because having a 2/4 with a static ability to double Battlecries was a bit hard to deal with, even though you could kill the 2/4? Let's do that again... but we'll make it a PERMANENT effect... and the only drawback is we'll double the cost and force you to Highlander... not that we haven't made a whole series of cards that are built to play Highlander, too. Oh, and that cost doubling? We'll make the card part of the class that is literally built around the mechanic of 'sit back and watch me throw up 1000 points of armor', so they'll never be dead by Turn 6 anyway."
thank you YES! Someone gets it. I hate the reno meta. People act like the warrior has to sacrifice anything to go highlander when theres more board clears available that you can run in a reno deck than you could run with duplicates in any control deck pre-2020. Drawing cards is also extremely easy as there are so many amazing neutral card draws. I hate hearing the reno enjoyers complain that "you have to run a weaker/ significantly worse deck to make the reno cards work (and plz nerf plague DK. It's not fair! (even though half of reno decks actually are favored against plague DKs...))
You have to be trolling or need a very good reason today to make a deck with duplicates in it today. Cant wait for them to nerf that crap
I am sorry to hear you had a bad time. As a player who has played for the same length you have I don't think this is the worst card ever myself. You've been there through the bad times like me. Ice Block, Jades, Grim Patrons, Highlander, Highlander again, and again, Shudderwock 30 minute turn, etc. You are battle tested. Don't let this get to you. You're strong!
Personally, if Harth doesn’t give you exactly the hand you need to either outright win or at the least the stabilize, he’s more of a meme. A last ditch value generator when you have an empty hand at best. The DH hand isn’t the best, and the DK hands can be okay in some situations. In most situations the Rogue hand might end up being bad, especially if the person getting it never played Mill Rogue.
But if you are behind in anyway, playing him felt bad in the time I was experimenting with him. Using him in Wild as Druid after playing Guff and having a bunch if mana still after playing him is the only time he really felt super strong because you could potentially play the hand he gives you immediately. Or things like the Shaman hand you could set up for Grumble > Shudder > replay Grumble > never ending Shudder shenanigans. But that’s only IF you live long enough to get that much mana, etc.
Honestly this post kind of sounds like you had one bad experience with the card and were like WTF BLIZZ?! I’m sure if he’s problematic they’ll adjust something.
I think you’re probably the only person playing Hearthstone who plays that way. People get frustrated all the time playing competitive games, whether there’s a prize for the winner or not. Do you not ever get tilted?
I don’t think this card is very good, at 6 mana, it’s super expensive and random.
1. 100% agree that getting upset over this game is strange. While I'll typically hit D5, there have been many months that I don't bother. I play what I enjoy and let the cards fall where they may. The ladder rewards just aren't worth the stress.
2.Complaining about Reno Control Warrior is odd. Standard Control Warrior is a much better deck and more dominant at higher levels of the ladder. I play it periodically, when the mood hits. But going against a standard control deck is usually a loss.
3. Harth is a meme deck. Sure, maybe you get some awesome, killer deck that perfectly counters your opponent. But you may also get a complete dog. Can't see how anyone can say this card is OP.

I have diamond bran and tbh I haven’t bothered to play it because standard is pure boredom for me and d5 in twist was not even a challenge. I’m currently sitting at 350 on the reward track enjoying endless BG play until I hit 400. My BG play consists of doing more constructive things until the new set releases. 200 free packs for zero effort is pretty good imo. For the 10 year anniversary I might make a short video of me finally hitting the dust all button for over 250k dust and finally open the extra 490 packs I’ve accumulated from collecting everything in the game up until this point (except signature legendaries which are ridiculously priced even for a massive whale like myself). The new patches portrait is hilarious by the way! I play the game for fun too but I have the most fun when there is something to collect based on playing. They really need to do something with the achievement point system and rewards. I’d actually play standard with achievement decks if doing so granted cardbacks or portraits for the effort. To each his own I guess. Hopefully they nerf the new bran and actually compensate those who paid for the diamond collectable consummate with its cost instead of the dust refund BS they pulled last time.
I am disappointed with Harth Stonebrew because I thought the developers would put out hundreds of decks to celebrate the 10th anniversary but there were only 13 decks. And personally the worst designed card was Shudderwock, you can play any type of deck whether it be OTK, Value, etc.

The worst designed card in history is Aquatic Form.

The answer is probably time warp in its current incarnation. But personally it's Shudderwock.

Warrior's Brann, nothing's even close. Any other control does not exist.
