Currently we only have 9 deck slots available for us to store our decks that we spend time putting together to make it the best we can. 9 slots means one deck for every class but the thing is that I sometimes have 2-3 decks for one class that I play because I am either testing or the class has a few different popular decks that are all fun to play. Now currently I have all 9 slots of mine used up I play 7 classes and have 2 different shaman decks that I both enjoy playing and I have 2 different priest decks also.
GvG will change up decks for sure but old classic decks will still be viable that is for sure and I will be keeping some of my decks to play but I feel like with all the new cards I will be getting and all the decks I will want to try the deck limit will just end up being a pain in the ass and if they raised it, that would just make players happier and things easier for everyone.
If you would be cool with more deck slots or have an opinion you would like to share let me know I would love some feed back from others on this topic!
Blizz is probably just saving more decks as a selling point feature in the future of an expansion once we get a lot more cards. They do this all the time with their other games, spread out the most obvious game features as marketing tactics. Its easier than releasing everything people want right away and then trying to come up with original ideas.
As far as I know, Blizzard is not planning on adding any additional deck slots. Which sucks for people like me. I like having 1 deck for each class, because I play casually, and I will play whatever class I played against last. It keeps the game fun for me. But that also means In order to try out new decks, I have to delete a deck I already have. Like currently, I don't have a Druid deck because I'm using that deck slot to try out all sorts of other different decks, but I have a static deck for each of the other 8 classes.
Of course the tech exists. They even have an interface they can use (there are pagination controls in the decklist page, it's how you move from the prebuilt decks to the custom ones and visa versa).
The 9 deck slots is fine for me and i think it should stay. Having 9 slots makes the game feel more like a real tcg/deck building because you have to break down your decks to make new ones. If you have real cards you would need to swap your favourite cards from one deck to another also :)
When I need to remake an old deck it is also good to see what cards i am putting in again, some might be out of meta cards etc.
9 slots keeps the tcg feeling stronger thats all. But i have a feeling someone will make a thrid party deck building mod soon. Save a deck list, and load it from the mod, it searches each card and builds the deck in a few seconds.
Why would we want to preserve a tedious part of the tcg experience when it is totally unnecessary?
I'm not too worried about it. It would be convenient, but I would rather have them spend time working on substantive improvements and expansions than trivial things. Just my opinion though.
Orangespire, maybe you were being sarcastic and I missed it. If not though, remember that Blizzard does not and never will owe you anything. You sound like a petulant child.
Blizzard owes me more deck slots. Especially with the new expansion which will allow for a lot more decks to be made. I absolutely think its ridiculous that they have not implemented this yet.
If Blizzard added a paid feature that would give orangespire more deck slots, I'd just hand them my wallet.

That has got to be the most spectacularly weak justification for an annoying game limitation I have ever seen.

It is surprisingly on track though. Imagine the opposite world where you have infinite deck slots. You'd just save everything and never delete any decks. It'd be a mess with silly file names (Ramp Druid 12/1 no TBK etc.). Here you have your deck, you might have a variation or two, but otherwise it feels like something real that you can get attached to and that evolves, not just the latest list of cards. It forces you to think about what decks you want to play more.
All said though, I think 12 slots would be the perfect number.

I would really enjoy extra deck slots so I could try out different things for fun while also not having to destroy my in the meta decks or vice versa but it is true that it is not a large issue and if they have bigger more substantial things to do is not something I would obsess over
It's not that hard: control wins aggro and loses to midrange. Combo should never be included in this equation. I'm a banana. Bananas don't speak English. I have played Blizzard games for the past 8 years and World of Warcraft from the start, this is completely true. I have seen it several times in several different games. While Blizzard does take its time to make their games very polished, they also do drag out feature additions for additional marketing when they can.
Blizzards main argument for not having more slot is that they want to keep the game 'simple' so that new players can pick it up easily. While on some level this is a good thing, on another level its total BS.
Ben Brode is always making comments about UI changes like this saying its a mess or hard to change UI stuff... Unless they really did a poor job coding the UI, its not that hard. Plus if they want to keep it simple... Just add options in the options menu, for people who are comfortable with the game and wish to look around.
I do feel that another 9-18 slots would be good, I do like having a couple different builds for each class.... But also at the same time, I am so comfortable with building decks, and do it so often, I know exactly where all the cards are and how many clicks it takes to flip to a certain minion and use the search function very efficiently. For convenience I would like additional slots, but it's not a deal breaker.

While I don't think it will happen until the next expansion, I think more deck slots will be very necessary after GvG. Currently I have 2 druid decks and 7 with other heroes. i play all of them everyday and all of them are competitive. With the size of this expansion players like I have no room to experiment and no room have casual fun while retaining the tried and true decks that we have worked so hard to perfect. I have nightmares about deleting one my own decks and not remembering a couple cards. IMO Blizzard should find a compromise to satisfy their players especially after they are going to be adding so many new possibilities with so many new cards. 9 will simply not enough room.
I think that having 12-18 deck slots would make it much nicer without adding too many in the game. As someone mentioned before I also think having unlimited deck slots would just end up creating a mess because I know for my self I would have old decks that im too lazy to get rid of still kicking around and eventually it would just be a mess with all these decks that I have and not knowing what to do with. But 12,15,18 decks keeps the number fairly low but at the same time allows you to have decks for every class and still some room to create more which I think 18 would be the most needed as you would have to have quite the extensive collection to make 2 full decks per class.
With that being said I guess I will put all my current decks into this sites deckbuilder to keep for my self of just screenshot them so that way I can delete them and still have them around for future reference if I want to play them.

YES, MORE DECKSLOTS. Its just a pain having only 9, I want to have multiples of some classes without having to drop others!
