Yeah, Ben Brode has said multiple times that they are not working on new classes right now, nor do they plan to any time soon. This picture is either from some sort of cinematic, or is fake.
Koltira Deathweaver. Odd choice for a DK hero, but then so is Anduin for Priest. And purple is not what I would've imagined for DK colors.
Oddities like those make me think it may be real. Fakes would've used more well known Death Knights (Arthas, Dranosh Saurfang, Darion Morgraine), and a dark red/maroon for the card colors (DK is dark red in WoW and on the card creator site everyone uses).
Honestly of all the people they could've chosen that isn't Arthas himself, Koltira Deathweaver is a very powerful and iconic death knight. For those who forget, you save him in the DK starting zone. He's the guy who does the anti-magic barrier while you kill priests and stuffs, aiding in his escape. And to be quite honest I would not mind him as the DK class representative. He's got a lot of attitude as all high elves did (he is not a blood elf, don't be mistaken). A little bit of lore behind that is that he was killed in a scourge invasion before the disaster that created the blood elves. Thus he's simply a high elf.
But back to a bit more on-topic about the legitimacy of this. I for one think this is fake. His weapon he has equipped is Byfrost, which for those who are interested is simply the 2h sword from sunwell from what I remember. Quite fitting since he's a high elf. Although what I don't like is that the picture is basically ripped up. And sure these could be placeholders, but his weapon is literally from the exact same image as his hero portrait. I feel like that's a little too cheap for blizzard's tastes, and they would have independent art for pretty much every card.
For those interested in the NPC himself, here's a link:
Don't be mistaken when it says his race is 'blood elf'. That's incorrect and I would fix it to 'high elf' if I could. It's a very big misconception and was clarified in the WoW visual novel (aka 'manga'/comic, although i believe that name is unfitting).
Edit: The worst part is, it uses REALLY old art, and one of the things I love about hearthstone is that they don't go back and re-use already made art. They make fresh and unique stuff.
Second Edit: After straining my eyes a bit, the hero power is corpse explosion. Which uses really old art from the TCG.
A lot of Hearthstone is recycled art, just Google WoW TCG art and see how much TCG art now adorns your beloved 'fresh and unique' Hearthstone cards
Also, Koltira was a High Elf before death as you said, but as undead he affiliates himself with both the Blood Elves and Forsaken, no longer with the High Elves. Many Blood Elves were High Elves before choosing to be known as Blood Elves, Koltira simply made that same choice

The vast majority of card art (90%+) is old, since they come from the TCG.
If its not a fake, it has to be a viral plant. The picture is blurred perfectly so you get absolutely no actual information. Suspicious either way.
Not saying it's not fake. Just saying it's pretty well done.
My thoughts exactly. I never played wow, so i don't know the lore. But it really looks like a picture taken from a phone. It even got that screen feeling of when you take a picture of an ipad screen. Now if its true i'm pretty sure its very early alpha testing because blizzard said more than once that no new heroes soon. And i believe them. It makes no sense to add a new hero so early in the game history.
Assuming the death knight class is brought in eventually, there is no way Arthas is the representative. Since he is one of the main "bad guys" in WoW, he is much more likely to be a legendary (probably neutral legendary, kinda like Kel'Thuzad). I could see Mograine being the death knight hero, but you can't really argue with Koltira as a potential choice. My guess is, next year at BlizzCon they will announce a new incoming hero.

I don't remember who Thassarian is haha. But either way, Arthas is too important of a "bad guy". That's what I was trying to say. Kinda like KT, Illidan, you can even include Ragnaros or Onyxia in this argument. A different warrior hero could have (should have?) been used, but it woulda been tough to find another better warlock hero. I don't know any other iconic warriors that could have been used. I've heard Varian Wrynn could have taken this spot, and I wouldn't argue with that.
Also, I think Blizzard has said there's going to be more personalities for each of the heroes in the future. Perhaps Mograine would be a second personality for the death knight.
Edit: While rambling on about nothing, I realize now that you were talking more specifically about the hero personalities. Obviously KT, Ragnaros, and Onyxia can't be considered as any hero haha. But, I still think Arthas wouldn't be the death knight hero. He might be the DK legendary, but I find it much more likely that he is the Icecrown Citadel adventure neutral legendary prize, similar to KT
Obviously a fake. The text potion and name portion of the card is purple, which is inconsistent with every other class card. Also, his weapon is available but the hero has no attack value.
I also deem it false. Blizzard has already said that they have no plans on making a new class. While they can change their mind, in order for a class to be ready enough to show it would've had to be in development when the remark was said. Blizzard isn't one to lie like that. Thus there's not enough time for them to go "you know, perhpas we CAN make a new class" then go make one in time.
I'm guessing that, at some point, Blizzard was making a class like this, enough to have artwork. Someone found it in some dark ally somehow and posted it as a hoax.

Edit: Also, I just feel as though I should say Arthas is perhaps THE bad guy in Warcraft lore. Garrosh, meh. Guldan, meh. The whole story of Warcraft 3 (and Wrath of the Lich King, years later) pretty much completely revolves around Arthas. That's why I think he deserves to be a neutral legendary.

That proves everything I guess?

Haven't seen this one here yet, but just found it on liquidhearth:
Thoughts? fake?
Just my 2 cents
This was already brought up here, although this thread seems like a better place for serious discussion ;)
Anyway, it looks pretty fake, and Blizzard has already stated that they weren't planning on making new heroes.

So I'll say it first, this is real

Unfortunately Blizzard sait multiple times they wont release a new class any time soon even though i think at someday they will
only those with Straw in their heads fear the Spark of Truth

Isn't there a more plausible explanation?
I'd say it's not a playable hero, but a hero you face in an adventure, like Naxxramas.

They probably save Arthas for a new adventure (ICC) then reward the legendary card. I don't think that the DK hero will be him.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
Cough cough "Guldan and Garosh" cough cough
This is statement is false.
