I see combo and OTK decks as an extremely important aspect of the meta because it helps to keep those midrange curve deck in check. Remember the time of secret paladin? All you can do to counter it is to play some sort of combo deck, like freeze mage or patron warrior. Thats why you really need deck who can punish those deck that only look to play the most expensive minion on curve.
Remember curve deck can also be extremely unfun and uninteractive to play against.
The problem with combos that you're enemy can interact with is that the reason for playing combo decks (atleast for me) was because any other deck made me much saltier when I did what I needed to win and still didn't win. With combos, you know once you get this off you win, so let all the interaction happen pre-combo.
FUN and INTERRACTIVE . Combo OTK decks are not interractive for your opponent, that is the case.
Neither is Pirate Warrior, Aggro shamman and face is the place stuff that ignores everything you do and kills you before t6, in fact an answer for most combos in hearthstone is just playing a Big taunt minion since most of them need a charging minion, Leeroy, prenerf warsong, Pre-nerf Charge+Raging Worgen/Arcane Giant/Molten Giant spell etc, the only decks that don't follow that rule are Malygos decks and Freeze mage, and at least the combo deck needs several turns to setup allowing you to play your cards.
