What do you think about this first naxxramas wing? i'm very disappointed: i cleared it in an hour with ease by playing only freeze mage and an improvised zoolock for ferlina hero... and i'm also drunk lol... btw i was looking forward for something challenging, i hope the next wing will be better.
I'm not disappointed at all. I got the cards I wanted, the boss fights were fun and heroic mode is definitely quite challenging. We will get more wings in the coming weeks. This isn't all of it. What did you expect?
Sooo easy. I beat all 3 bosses and both class challenges on my first try. The AI is outright dumb. For instance, Faerlina cast Inner Rage on my full health Knife Juggler, so she left a 5/1 on the board and proceeded to take 15 damage from it over 3 turns (plus some knives). She even face smashed it when she had 6 health left.
I haven't played the Heroic mode yet, but I don't expect it to be much smarter.
I have a feeling that this first 'free' wing was just a precursor to a more challenging experience. I kind of expected it to start easy and get harder and harder as you go deeper in Naxxramas. but only time will tell.
Admittedly I thought the first wing of Naxx would last me a bit longer. I didn't time it but it didn't take me long to beat all of it. The only boss I had to do twice was Maexxna cause I wasn't prepared for that hero power and the 2 starter minions. But I just created a battlecry/charge deck and she wasn't that hard. I can only imagine how easy she'd be with a Frost Mage.
But yeah, I also agree with Lethal. This is about what I expected and I'm not disappointed at all. Even though I beat all of Naxx in what I'm guessing was less than 90 minutes (mainly due to lag) I enjoyed my time playing it. I unlocked some new cards and I've been having fun playing with them as well. I've already tried out the Nerubian Egg and Maexxna and honestly I like them both. It's fun. When future wings come out, I'm sure I'll feel the same.
I'm really happy with Naxx, new cards, everyone's mind is churning to figure out their new constructed decks and Reynad almost got rank 1 legendary using zoo. I hate zoo and I think when more wings get unlocked zoo will be a lot weaker but as of now it's the best deck...thoughts?

i really hope so, it will make sense, they should focus more on the AI rather than making insanely OP hero power and stuff (Maexxna keeping bouncing alextrazsa in my hand making me nearly immortal is just too lame lol).
Yeah, somehow I expected a bit more. I had to try a few times on the last two bosses in heroic mode just because I was being lazy and wanted to see if I could use my regular deck, but overall this seemed really short, and not exactly an "adventure." I do like the new cards though.
The real thing naxxramas brings are the new cards and the probable shift in the meta, the wings were fun and the heroic was sort of challenging i guess? Atleast you had to think and go in with a strategy. I enjoyed it even though it was short.
Overall I thought it was fun. My only gripe is all the difficulty lies in overpowered cards/abilities and cheat mechanics to compensate for the AIs stupidity. I was hoping for significantly improved AI. It's still very well done though. I can see a lot of potential for challenges and fun mini games in the future. Defeat all bosses using only commons. Defeat all bosses using no spells. Fatigue the bosses to death. Win without dropping below a certain health amount. Etc Etc
I'm more so disappointed in the lack of meat the Naxxramus mini-expansion had, I feel that there could have been more battles, but I would've really rathered more cards than we got instead of the Naxxramus mini-expansion. I feel that the amount of potential cards we could've gotten wasn't worth what we got from the Naxxramus campaign, but hopefully now that they've got the PvE started, it'll be easier for them to implement future expansions because much of the coding is there now.
Jeez guys you beat 3 of the 12 bosses, 20% of the overall adventure and are bitching it was short!! Are you guys serious? While I agree normal and class can be blasted through, the heroic can be quite challenging.

Well I can't help it I set my expectations high since they released they released pretty much 1/5 of a set because they were developing Naxxramus on top of it.
the issues are it seems small because of the segmented release. its kind of like reading a book series where you have to wait a year or 2 for the next installment. often the built-up hype makes you pan it more than if you had read it straight through. perhaps that was a mistake on blizzard's part, but who knows...
the normal mode and class challenges were laughably easy, but I did find the heroic modes to be fairly challenging. that's partly because they're gimmicky though, so I don't know that there will be much, if any, replay value to them. I suppose there will potentially be some small value there in terms of trying to out-gimmick their gimmicks with different types of decks, but how long that lasts I couldn't say.
overall, I'm pretty pleased with what we're getting. some interesting new cards to mess around with. now as long as I can scrape together enough gold in between wing releases without spending it all... ;)

Now that I've beat the bosses with my standard decks, I may try some alternate approaches - or even see if I can get through them using just the prefab decks you start the game with.
I think it is fine. It is just a little 20$ adventure mode. I cleared everything in about 2 hours, and for one wing of a 5 wing expansion that seems just right to me.
Perfect will be add some more Heroic levels with boosters prize for beating them (for the first time). Each Heroic level could be +hp or even +starting boss mana. However generally for me Nax is not about bosses - it is about new cards

He used it many, many times against me, and also against me work buddy who was playing next to me. "wtf" indeed.

it was enjoyable enough, apart from the lag..

The challenges are also what you make of them.

I know there are a few future heroics not focused on health boost. Hopefully those won't be so exploitable by freeze mage.
